Love how he does everything himself unlike most shows where they have all these others doing the work but then the owner takes the affirmation. I also notice Ian also does it with the minimal special tools . A proper make do attitude
Ian, That tool box has a stroke of genius! I too fabricate things (audio equipment with vacuum tubes) for a living. I feel like you just taught me something. Thank you! Peace, DrRick
My my.. one of your best projects Ian.. You put this together and kind of let it flow out.. No rush and plenty of breaks and all the parts from different decades just fit together.. The truck is a joy to look at and the truck is functional who would ever want to sell or let go of this truck.. Ian you just nailed this bud.. This video is so fun to watch as it goes together.. Words can not describe the beauty of it all☺️👍
when I left highschool I bought a 1929 Plymouth truck. It had a covered back like a mail van, where you could stand up. It even had a small access to the driver compartment..it had a wood stove and a bed, and the old fella said he use to use it for hunting trips...
Ian, you are the man! Like everything else I've ever seen you build, this is just another work of art that is actually functional. You sir are a modern day George Barris! Keep up the great work sir!
Really admire What you do there, Ian? Absolutely love the Packard, Daddy had one in about 1961. I would love to get up close or drive One after all these years, there very cool.! Love that black cherry paint job, gorgeous
…maybe the most sensible and usefull Project thus far One can easily see why Don is so extremely stoked up with his tow / utility Truck MASSIVE bonus and change to the yard operations Well done you guyz A classic blend ending up in a masterpiece of note and showing off great style in looks from bygone eras spread over time Looks like the 60’s motor is also perfectly suited⁉️ Have fun… (dó consider giving it a name, or design a little tow truck service signboard for it, do’nt you think? One reflecting the founding date of the business as being from the oldest part utilized on this classic piece of ingenuity…😳❓)
Morning Ian, I've been a metal fabricator for 40+ years, one thing I've learned is to keep simple, try not to re engineer things.. I'm not into Rat rods, but this truck came out really nice
The straight cut metal shear with the three blades was invented after WW2 by a Southern Californian named Al Swink. But his real claim to fame was the invention of the car wash. All this is featured in Look Magazine in 1947. The air blowers were electric superchargers bought government surplus off of B-17 engines. He and his wife both served as mayors of Santa Monica.
I have 3 c cabs 1 is fiberglass 2 are metal but I can't find any identification as to make or model or year on them! Any ideas on where to look or specific details that may identify them would be appreciated!
Dude you've got to put a nice Cummins turbo in this puppy 🐶 and then top 🔝 it off with two chrome slash cut stacks then that my friend will truly be a show stopper.
Когда занимаешься восстановлением и кастомом машин очень важно чтобы в мастерскую не зашёл Виктор, иначе это дело может растянуться на большое количество эпизодов и несколько лет работы.
Set of air tanks placed in under that fuel tank for horn and possibly air tools for my ideal And to top it off with the auxiliary fuel oil and water can placed off a model t placed on the running board of that passenger side.... Got ideas flowing. What a bitchen truck.

I cannot comprehend all of the skill and expertise that Ian possesses. A creative genius.

Very nice job. Gentlemen.
This project was epic. It reminds me of that Johnny Cash song.
Nice to hear he started his metal work career with detailed copper flashing elements.
I love the truck! Definitely has a Fred Flintstone vibe going on.👍👍

Ian, you are the man! Like everything else I've ever seen you build, this is just another work of art that is actually functional. You sir are a modern day George Barris! Keep up the great work sir!
That was just absolutely awesome,
I have always had fun building things out of nothing, but you took it to a whole different level and I love it
VERY COOL !!!
Those two Model A rear bumpers are a pretty close match to the front bumpers of the first few Jaguar XK 120’s. Small world.
Nice work on that cable place, boy, set up. You doubled your lifting capacity right there... Nice paint and modern enough to actually do some work
This is a great build! Good job!!
Awesome 👏

Great job...or should I say great creation.. It turned out awesome...
A masterpiece. Maybe some old school lettering, and some old school striping.
Dude the tool box is the topper
2:04 that winch is still in production. They are used on barges and tugboats . Nothing to do with tow trucks. But they are fairly bulletproof.

Sweet ride❤
I would like to see how the windshield is mounted to the frame. Still shots of the whole truck would be nice for study.
It looks awesome ,it needs some pinstriping done on the cab and fenders tho
Amazing
I may have missed it. Is there going to be a trunk and where is gas tank going? Maybe my favorite car you've built.
Sure looked great on the second time but still wish ee coulda heard some engine vs. the drum thump. But that's just me.
Thanks for sharing...🤔🙂
Magnifique!

i word BUITIFULL
Yo bro your talking about flow from what I've seen of your work hell you flow better than the Colorado River. Keep on keeping on.
Spider rims would be a perfect fit for it.
I saw the C cab and instantly saw a C trike Harley towtruck ^5
your reciever hitch pin is in bachwards .because of the crown of the road /if the small keeper pin ever falls off the big pin could fall out
I bit more on the English wheel and you be a pro in no time 👍🏼
That gas tank looks like it came from a WW2 jeep.
Yes, it's a CJ 2/3 fuel tank
The black cherry Packard is an all time classic hot rod. It will be in shows in 50 years and maybe a lot longer.

@kahutochishisumi9056 you guys are both way off. The CJ2A gas tank was under the driver seat and it was flat.
Happy Birthday and I believe 65/75 mph
How many of you could see the similarities across the yard from mailbox to mailbox how long did they live next to each other 😢😊
Maybe get a wide boat and take on a tour on the Continent?
I have 3 c cabs 1 is fiberglass 2 are metal but I can't find any identification as to make or model or year on them! Any ideas on where to look or specific details that may identify them would be appreciated!
I’m thinking you should have put in a couple of baffles in the gas tank.
Dude you've got to put a nice Cummins turbo in this puppy 🐶 and then top 🔝 it off with two chrome slash cut stacks then that my friend will truly be a show stopper.
Great none !
like 240. Very creative
Have you thought about putting like a metal mesh

I'd love to have that truck but I'd have put a Cummins and 2 stacks. Oh yeah oh hell yeah
I'm interested to know how this hit it over at a truck show, if Don took it to one.
Fred Flintstone tow truck!
