  • Everyone has been putting bets on #jugjuggjeeyo to be the next box office hit for bollywood but I think it will struggle to be a blockbuster. The film starring #varundhawan #kiaraadvani #anilkapoor #neetukapoor is directed by Raj Mehta and focusses on the topic of marital problems across generations. I hope you like the JugJugg Jeeyo Movie Review & Analysis

My most favourite scenes from this movie was first the bench scene between Kiara and Neetu character. It was hard hitting and had a pinch of depth about many relationships in India atleast. And the second favourite was the whole argument/ confrontation scene between Varun and Kiara character. That seemed real and authentic which could happen to any couple in the world. Both of them really nailed that scene, especially Varun. While Neetu shined in the previous one. My third favourite scene was the end court scene. Also SPOILER- I'm glad they didn't patch up Anil Kapoor and Neetu characters. He was an asshole through the majority of the movie and he doesn't deserve his wife at all. Atleast glad they left at an open end but seriously uski zarurat nhi thi

I really liked the movie's emotional and dramatic scenes, but yeah the comedy as you said is a hit and a miss. Sometimes it's cringy wife bad jokes and then the Vaishnodevi line which genuinely made me chuckle. Like an emotional/dramatic scene is going on and then Anil's character, Bheem, does some shitty ott thing or a song pops up.
    Spoiler below:
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
I was so glad when his(Bheem of course) lying, narcissistic ass was exposed at the second wedding. Throughout the movie, his lying was used for comedic relief but I was like, no this is wrong! But what I didn't like was after everything, I thought nah, they'll stay separated, ok maybe not with Kuku and Naina cause main leads, although I would have been surprised, but with Geeta(Nitu Singh) and Bheem, I so wish they would have stayed separated because Bheem's just toxic af. With that ending in which Bheem says waapas pata lega, I kinda felt ki puri movie undone ho gayi. And then Bheem goes on to tell Kuku ki mere jaisa mat Kar. I was like," dude, not the same situation! You (Bheem) had an affair and lied to your wife, Kuku and Naina had problems totally different than you! Stfu this is not the same thing! The only thing common is that you're getting divorced"
Also the last scene in the courtroom where Kuku shows Naina the will you marry me tattoo, I was like," dude you have 6 months to finalize the divorce! Itta dramatic kyu ho Raha hai lol"

Totally on point. And just the fact that I don't know why the indian society is so concerned about the second chances when the man does something wrong and denies it when the wife is in the wrong.
And i totally hated the fact that how varun blamed tisca Chopra's character for ruining his mother's and father's marriage when his father was the one ruined it.
I don't know why they didn't acknowledge this and ended it all with "teri mummy ko maine pehle bhi pata liya tha abhi bhi pta lunga" stating that no matter what you do , it is really simple to win a women's heart because of the emotional being they are.

That meant she saw him clearly for what he was after that 4 days and realized what a mismatched couple they were. It has nothing to do with what Bheem says to Kukku in the end. From his pov it took him 3months to woo Geeta but from Geeta"s pov it was different.

but now a days since you started mingling with those starcast - your bashing has undergone a modulated undertone. very much shows why your review was biased towards Attack, Dhaakad and JJJ.
Same happened with Taran Adarsh - i think Aamir Ansari is way better, says the real facts.
"JJJ - Tv serial chal ra hai kya ?" thats what he said and thats what it is.
The fact that you had to cover Filmy Indian's crazy viewing says it all.

    Loved the review.
Just a pointer (wrt to the jokes you mentioned as a hit and a miss):-
-> I really think the jokes you mentioned were expected to be crass and lame - as people do indulge in such - especially with the tonality the said lines were pitched at. For me there was a clear contrast in jokes that seemed lame (the avenger or paseena dialogue) and the jokes that were meant to a ‘laugh out loud’ (ex: emotional pigeon?).
Even if you re watch the scene where maneesh paul cracks the avengar joke - he forces a laugh post it with no friends responding and the scene making a cut to the next - which for me made his character far more organic. Extremely high pitched and indulgent which could lead him to be crass and lame - and the same with anil’s character. For me that was a strong point -

The hate u get for a dharma movie comes from a place where the audience feel cheated, firstly the company is all over the place with their secondary storytelling that's just money hungry, they adopt anything and everything that has become a blockbuster before. absolutely no originality n they go shamelessly to any extent to get the bucks! Handing this movie above average rating could be bad, I'd trust the ndtv analysis more, just waiting for the movie to release in OTT. Jammy, ur interview qs r well thought out, rather than doing movie promotions, u should look at doing one to one conversations like ranveershow's shahid n karthik aryan interviews.
