Whenever i see Danny at the baked potato i sit on the right side of his kit. Dude is not human! Super cool guy and always signs magazines and cd without hesitation.
Coming from a huge Danny Carey fan, I’m confident that there’s a large catalog of songs he can’t play. And that’s ok. That’s probably the case for all but 2 drummers on the planet.
The awesomeness about this is I have always thought "No Quarter" was the inspiration for the beginning of "Tool" so many similar elements. Danny and Tool just took it to the next level..... levels!!!

I like how Danny left space for those awesome piano and guitar solo's and then gave it his all during the last stretch when it's just the main riff over and over. Great performance from the whole gang!
Thanks for the positive posts and to all the non relative negative ones, I guess if it is what makes you happy adding nothing but negativity to a happy medium please type away. Peace ✌
I hadn't heard No Quarter for years.....probably decades sadly ....but hearing that main riff again.....man,wow..... And having Mr Danny Carey on percussion.....? Bliss.....
Hearing Danny with those keys is something ELSE. Tool needs to incorporate more psychedelic keyboard parts into some of their songs. That'd be SO cool.
Damn, nice capture, and well hidden recording. And effort in sharing this wonderful performance on UA-cam. But he uh no uh like being video recorded me thinks.
Some really nice chops but a just a bit to much cymbal crashes for my taste. Might have seemed completely different live that on video. I am starting to understand Peter Gabriel aversion to too much cymbals. Still great drumming.
Like the way the guitar player stepped in for his lead. Also wish Danny would've put the snares back on... but still thanks for not paying any attention to the ' absolutely no recording ' sign ;-)
I f$^$^$kn luv the name of this JOINT ; the Backed Patato ahahha LMAO ; reminds wen i was a young cook and just had to get a job at this place called the BANANA BOAT ,just had to have that on my resumey LMAO.

i'm gonna assume the poster _directly_ behind Danny says 'ABSOLUTELY NO phone recording'. And some other kind of recording. 🤣 *edit - it's visual. That makes it even funnier.

In a situation like this, does the drummer who's just had his kit absolutely VIOLATED by a beast like Danny just replace it? Make it a clean break? Said drummer must know that it'll just never be the same again. That kit will want for more but never get it....
I actually kind of agree. It's not that this wasn't great. It was. The original, though, kept you right on the edge of that cliff. You feel like you just started to fall, but don't. Then, just when you think it's safe, every sinful, evil, menacing legend of a villain overwrought in terror simply washes over everything you've ever known.
@@cart9645 I kinda get the whole comment and opinion part of UA-cam. I just don't understand why when so many seem to enjoy the video however it plumes when the phones little tiny Samsung S5 mic and is all on the left Channel. @@Dan-sg8rl ? People are allowed to enjoy this just as much as I'm allowed to not enjoy it. I don't have influence over the thousands of people that watched and enjoyed it. The reason I commented was because I think Danny Carey is capable of playing it well, i.e. Undertow his playing is astonishing, he just clearly got lazy and drunk as he got older. People can enjoy this performance, that doesn't somehow make it better or a compliment to the original
I wish Tool would take a tip from Led Zeppelin and stop releasing the same album with a different name. Led Zeppelin was always progressing and giving their audience something new to be excited about not re-branding the same stuff over and over again. Except Danny of course hes always great.
WTF is wrong with this YT algorithm that I'm just now seeing this 3 years later?!
I've seen Danny play many times at the Baked Potato and it was always a special time. He has a great time and is friendly with everyone.
Bonzo would love to see this, a modern day drum legend covering a zeppelin classic
He would dig those Paiste cymbals
Somehow we all know what a dead person would like and not like.
I wonder if there's people who go to The Baked Potato just to eat a baked potato and then this happens

I bet he can do it while playing too
Hit the like button before hitting play. Thank you so much for not heeding the sign behind Danny's head. And this was on my birthday that year!
Danny Octopus Arm's Carey never disappoints. What a great rendition jam of a great Zeppelin tune. Bravo 👏 👏
Piano solo and guitar solo were crazy
I have no doubt that there isn't a single recorded track in history that Carey can not ONLY play, but make his own.

Danny’s Gotta be my favorite drummer
Danny's badass he really turned it on during the end. Love that final hi-hat hit to close it out so cool
