I don't know if Spencer was part of the problem, but the nearby loop around the middle school used to be terrorized by street racers. those might be a good deterrent to street racing. Btw I agree that it is impossible to go 60 on that part of the road because of the gutters in the intersections,
they've been there for at least 3 months now...anyone ever driving 60 on that part of Spencer would bottom out at the multiple dips. I drive thru there all the time, I never saw anyone driving fast. And it's true I now avoid that section because you have to go 10 mph now to not go bouncing every 50ft or so....they overdid it.

Very nice. Another way to reduce speeding is to post 2 to 3 motorcycle cops in every major intersections. Two speeding tickets issued would pay one cop's day salary.
Nevada needs to mandate all cars use OBD tracking devices to be insured. This will force bad drivers to drive safely or they will face higher premiums. The really bad ones will be unable to find insurance. Problem solved. All the information collected by the port plugin needs to be uploaded to the NDMV on a weekly basis. If the vehicle is in an accident the data provides law enforcement vehicular details. The information can also be used to verify traffic violations at the time of a stop via download onsite. Discounts on insurance should be granted to those who go beyond the obd and add approved dashcams. None of this is new tech its been used on commercial vehicles for over decade now.

The cushions are going to be a problem, since they are softer than the pavement people will choose to sleep on them during the evening hours. Entire families might choose to sleep on the cushions. During the evening hours, visibility is limited because the big yellow hot round thing in the sky has gone to sleep and turned off its light. With the absence of light, motorists will not be able to see people and families sleeping on the cushions, they will get squished and become squashed into no longer being live living people.

The major problem with speed bumps, any kind, is that okay, you slow down just before the bump, then speed right back up and drive even faster after them. It's not fixing the problem. Traffic engineers failed developing America. Long wide straight roads promote speeding. Speed bumps aren't going to fix anything.
If people are speeding on certain road. Why not just put LPR license plate reader cameras on there so when they go over the limit it takes a photo of their license plate and collect millions. People will stop speeding when they get 10 plus letters in the mails owning $200 fine each. Lmao

But even then they can be off by 6% and it gets even more inaccurate depending on the range and the increased degrees off from straight on. In other words it varies depending on which lane you're in an how far away you are. Legally speaking all vehicles imported into the United states are allowed 6% speedo error. This changes based on your tire size, tread depth and other things like mechanical wear and tear. Combine both of those factors and you could easily get a ticket for going 10 mph over the speed limit when in actuality it's only 5 or 6 over. This is the reason most cops don't write tickets for that type of variation. Natural law reigns supreme and is the most important factor. Tickets create a disconnect between cause and effect. I stopped using spencer to connect to desert inn after they install these bumps. I guess they work.
