Killmonger is a top 3 MCU antagonist for me along with Zemo and Thanos. Killmonger was able to convince T'challa to change his worldview from isolationism to engagement.
I work in the Entertainment Industry with Global artists, bands and A List Actors both here and in the States. Andy Serkis playing Ulysses Klaue is a wonderfully talented actor and director. He's known for his motion capture work in movies such as LOTR, Jungle Book, Tin Tin, Planet of the Apes and King Kong but he's been a powerhouse of stage and screen for years. Such a lovely, friendly man. He owns a huge motion capture facility not far from where I live in London. Its absolutely amazing inside. 😁🤓
@andelain 😁 That's a good thing! He does immerse himself in his roles, that's for sure. I remember vividly when we were doing press and promotion for this film, a couple of experiences both here and in the States where journalists were trying to goad both him and Martin Freeman into an argument which really didn't exist. Something along the lines of it being a strange story to waste such a big budget on and how weird it must be being two of the few white actors in the cast. Andy wasn't having it - at all - and very politely but eloquently put them in their place. He's an Industry veteran and could see where they were going right away. I don't even think they realised that they had been put in their place until much later but journalists try that a lot. He said nobody even thought about that, it's neither here nor there. The whole cast were focussed on bringing this powerful story to the screen and it was an important milestone in filmmaking for everyone, regardless of race. Stan Lee was a pioneer in getting the film made, no studio wanted it for many years - echoing the very narrow minded, vapid and vacuous views that the journalists were edging towards... Nobody wants to watch a black superhero. I'm guessing they didn't ever see "Blade". I remember the same conversation back then 🙄😂
Black Panther a rare movie in its ability to openly discuss the very real imbalance of power due to colonialism. That there is no consensus in how to address it, nor how to fix it, is one of the most important lessons this film gave. Every nation now in existence owes their position to historic atrocities of one kind or another and Black Panther quite rightly points out that simply reversing policies is no better for all concerned either. It will take active decisions to "help each other" instead of trying to profit off one another.
Yep, nations all over the world have exploited others to increase their wealth and power throughout history. This movie takes the very interesting tack of blaming the Wakandans, "the good guys" for allowing it, when they obviously had the power to do something about it. Bold move on Ryan Coogler's part. I really wish N'Jadaka (Killmonger) could have been reformed and redeemed, because he was right about a lot.
There's a you tube channel that the content manager reviews Marvel films and looks for details in the background or references to other MCU films that one will probably miss on first viewing. The Canadian Lad is the channel. It's very surprising how all these Marvel films are intricately connected.
My understanding of the comics is that Everett Ross is the Black Panther's one white friend. Gives the outsider view. Killmonger is a villain who isn't wholly wrong, just going too far, and the heroes change their ancient traditions because of him.
I doubt it was intentional, but this seemed like a metaphor for Trump's first term. All the people in power saying We're really gonna let this madman take the throne??

I feel embarrassed to say I didn't recognise him in this! I knew he looked familiar but I couldn't place him. 😅

@@andelain I did recognize him but I've followed his work for quite some time. One of my favorite actors.
22:11 gollum and bilbo 🥰
The Tolken White Guys
Nice reaction waiting for next marvel timeline
Too bad they didn’t keep killmonger alive since Chadwick passed away, that would have been one hell of a redemption ark.
I'm not sure if I'm infatuated by the reaction...your voice or your candance

Hello, hope youre having a good holiday season!
You too! 😊
A lot of people don't know this movie has a subtitle:
_Black Panther: That Was Cool_
At last Tony will be the greatest Avengers, every Marvel fans knows.
Waiting foe biggest film of marvel cinematic universe Avengers infinity war .
There's a you tube channel that the content manager reviews Marvel films and looks for details in the background or references to other MCU films that one will probably miss on first viewing.
The Canadian Lad is the channel. It's very surprising how all these Marvel films are intricately connected.
I mentioned way back that Tony Stark was the second smartest character in the MCU, Shuri is his better.
LOL Nope.
@@stonebaxter Third?
@33:50 -- yikes, the irony

Marvel is VERY good at creating compelling villains, giving them real depth. It's like Loki said, nobody good is all good, and no one bad is all bad.
Incorrect. T'challa has a white adopted brother in the comics.
I doubt it was intentional, but this seemed like a metaphor for Trump's first term. All the people in power saying We're really gonna let this madman take the throne??
The mid credit at the UN was direct shade to Trump...
In reality, T'chakka and his isolationist tendencies has more in common with Trump than Killmonger does.
First
While the cast is predominantly black Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis are the two Tolkien white guys😂😂😂 (Bilbo and Gollum)
