Wow.. how long did it take to write this on every video?
Mood Maker it’s called ctrl+c & ctrl+v
So this morning I had a thought.
.... A kitchen sink witha garbage disposal is really similar to DEMA.... The tower of silence has a center part where all the "junk" goes. Makes me wonder if this could be the meaning.... If a kitchen sink made him think of the whole DEMA story?
lovin life that’s true but we don’t know what a kitchen sink to Tyler is so we can’t know for sure if that’s true but woah I haven’t thought of it like that. Woah!
How Tyler and josh met
Tyler was washing his dishes
And josh came out of the sink
The end
lol
That's a mood
And tyler was like... lets start a band.
That Made my day😂
Twenty One Lane Boys didn’t they meet on tinder-
I HAVE A THEORY ABOUT FOREST!
you know how tyjo's like " DOWN IN THE FOREST WE'LL SING A CHORUS ONE THAT EVERYBODY KNOWS!!!"
yeah.well in ride they're in a forest. singing a chorus every clique member knows.. what if ride is that song they're singing in the forest?
Nushkii OMGGG WE HAVE TO SHARE THIS WITH THE WORLD
Nushkii LET THE WORLD KNOW THIS
Nushkii well, Forest was released before Ride. So unless Ride was an idea that was scrapped during the time during forest and then came back in Blurryface, that's wrong
ik but it could be possible.
meh my gf helped me figure out 75% so credit goes to her and i have another theory about the logo *^*
I have a theory
Maybe the part when he sings "go away, leave me alone"
It's not him
It's blurryface telling people to leave him (Tyler) alone
But at the end Tyler is like "winning" blurryface and take back control on himself when he sings "don't leave me alone"
So that my theory for that part (:
-GASP-
Or that many people with problems don’t want help and in the next verse he says don’t go away
OHHHH YES CAUSE THE CHORUS IS SAID IN LIKE THE HIGH PITCHED VOICE AND THEN THE LAST PART ISNT HHHHHHHH I AGREE WITH YOUR THEORY
It wasn't blurryface's voice though..
At the time that was impossible to figure out so I doubt it, but you never know, you could be correct.
Most of your theory is right, the way to create a purpose in life is to create something that you can explain. But there's something very meaningful most of us missed; Tyler yells out through out half of the song to leave him alone. But at the end, he yells "Dont leave me alone". If you were to ask a depressed person "what's wrong" or something on the lines, they would say "Nothing, leave me alone". But in their heads, they're really saying "Dont leave me alone", and I think that's what Tyler is setting an example of. I know its out of the topic of the song's meaning, but I feel Tyler threw that in for timesake
I was just about to comment this!
Tyler's and Josh's Kitchen Sink Exactly!
Tyler's and Josh's Kitchen Sink Once I saw this picture and it said what things really mean and one of them was "Go away" and under it it said something along the lines of please stay.
I feel that's about the best explanation I've heard of that part.
The Pop Song Professor thx m8
You just rapped Zack's part better than I ever will
THanks!
the pantaloon
General Stievous yes pkease
General Stievous Definition of a Pantaloon is a person who is destined to die, and in the song, Tyler expains how his grandpa seemed like a pantaloon after he died, he feels like this pantaloon trait has been passed on to Tyler's dad, and later on this trait will go to himself.
Tyler's and Josh's Kitchen Sink that's like every person ever though
lt ???
Oh, hey you got a lot of votes here! All the best!
And like so this was the start of the pop song professers Rap career *looks into the distance*
Oh if only. That would be so cool.
Kitchen sink represents something personal to me, I have never done anything at a kitchen sink, it is something mentally not physically, something I don't feel like explaining, it means something deep to me
Tessa White I'm exactly the same
Yeah same
While I wash dishes I actually think about really deep things...I don't know why I thought this was important to share but I kinda relate to this song
Yeah, that definitely makes sense. There's nothing else distracting your mind.
I really hate the theory of Tyler trying to kill himself at his kitchen sink. Because he said that something good happened , and that's why it has so much purpose. He didn't try and kill himself at his kitchen sink, something amazing happened. ❤️
Daisy Biscombe THANK YOU, the other theories were so negative, but you know, we make our own purpose for these things, they can believe it if they want to.
Daisy Biscombe He didn't die. That could be the good thing.
Iwritefanfic Nøtsessays I thought that too but I've just gotten over the fact that it probably is😂😂
Daisy Biscombe maybe that's were Tyler and Josh ACTUALLY met...but I agree with you completely
Nerdygummieworm Tyler and Josh met first at the Newport music Hall. Tyler worked there and joshs music store was close by. the met at an exit sign.
Oh my gosh your rap for this song is one of the best attempts I've heard yet! Every time I even attempt sing that rap it sounds like I'm struggling with a tongue twister. XD
Oh, trust me, I made mistakes in my rap.
ok im gonna try.
time gains momenmomenomeonemoenemsiningmomenmonemonempassing after re-beginning memories pretending enemies are frenemies sending straight to bending my bad behavoiur bedebed better man copy and paste caught me copy better rhymes bother me, the beded bedebedneded the rhythm the bebebded i am gambling man betadebata iam a gambing man i am? me everytime
I have followed Tyler's advice, and created a symbol that I nobody tell the meaning of it. Actually, I created two! Everytime I have bad thought I draw of them on my hand and it immediately makes me smile when I look at it :)
Trigger Warning..........I have a theory about the broken fan on the self entitled album cover. A lot of people who hang themselves use a ceiling fan. Since the fan is broken could that have something to do with a suicide attempt??
@@ayyymiiir yeah it’s called the pivotal hanging method, i know this theory stands true because it’s an actual thing. some people would rather go with the pivotal hanging method because it’s more cleaner i guess
I have a theory :
Maybe when he says "go away" and "leave me alone" he is talking about his insecurities ,anxiety and depression , he tries to defend and fight back against them and when he says "don't leave me alone" maybe he realises that the only way to find his purpose is by taking advantage of his depression .
I also think he said it once i'm not really sure about it
"Go away, go away go away, leave me alone."
Me to someone who tries to disturb my music.
I see you everywhere!!
Panic! at the chemical pilots I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE!
That Animal Ember ooh, I don't know weather to be proud bc I have been noticed or ashamed of how much time I spend online and how I am such trash haha
Panic! at the chemical pilots you should be proud
Tyler is so wise for such a young age😪he helps me get through my hardest times
Dang. This song is Deeper than pacific ocean.
Yep
This is why tøp is my favorite band they don't do anything unless there is some sort of meaning to it AND I LOVE THIS IM SHOOK I LOVE THIS SONG I WANT TO EAT THIS SONG TO CONSUME IT THEN BECOME IT
i have struggles with purpose. i also have my own meaning of singing "i am a kitchen sink" it means something to me and that is why i love the song so much
Sweet! That's probably a good way to do it.
It’s “at my kitchen sink” but I’m glad you found meaning through the song
It's a possibility that what happened at his kitchen sink has some involvement with the fact that kitchen sinks produce water. In the Bible, water can represent the spirit of god / life, which is what is probably referred to in Addict with a Pen. At his kitchen sink, he may have realized that he metaphorically is a kitchen sink, meaning he can be in control of his struggle by creating life and purpose for himself with art.
high quality spice love that, all though I think the lyrics say "my catastrophe AT my kitchen sink" Because it makes a lot more sense than randomly spouting "I'M A KITCHEN SINK" right after saying "my catastrophe-"
Wow... mind-blown...
This is great, and I agree. But my grammarnazi self is itching. You need to capitalize God, its his name, so.... :T God*
I used to get emotional with this song because I have fought depression as long as I can remember. I can totally relate because my natural instinct is to push people away, yet I don't want to be left alone. My wife of almost 30 years died in 2015 at 47 years old, and now I lose it every time at the end of the song. I cry so hard, my cat gets concerned and checks on me. My wife and I had a lot of problems, but we truly loved each other. The arguments were bad enough at times that I had thoughts that I would be happier without her (leave me alone). Now that she's gone and I have no way to reconcile with her, I realize how deeply she lived in my heart. (Please don't leave me alone). It's such a beautiful song and I love it, so I refuse to stop listening to it. I just wish at some point, the waterworks would stop.
This song did inspire me to start a blog and putting my thoughts and feelings out into the universe has helped me to heal. I wish I could thank Tyler.
Are you searching for purpose?
Then write something, yeah it might be worthless
Then paint something then, it might be wordless
Pointless curses, nonsense verses
You'll see purpose start to surface
No one else is dealing with your demons
Meaning maybe defeating them Could be the beginning of your meaning, friend
So happy someone is finally publicly declaring what I've been thinking for years

The Pop Song Professor I RAPPED KITCHEN SINK AM I A PRO?
You rapped that much better than I ever have or will!!!😂
I like to think that Tyler had a great spiritual experience while at a kitchen sink. That he has an important job to do, by using his song writing talents and creating music, he will be someone that people will look up to. He needs to be willing to help in a way that only he can. By talking about depression and anxiety and struggling with questions about God and faith, people will look to him and realize that they are not the only ones dealing with those same issues. Tyler can help them fight their demons and find purpose and meaning enough to stay alive and try to overcome them. I don't know if that makes sense. And I know we won't know what really happened, but that's what I like to think about it. Such a great message and inspiring! I know this song has truly helped people stay alive! Wow! How many people can say that? Thanks for your videos!
I personally think that the kitchen sink is literal. strange thoughts come in the empty times in life. maybe he was doing things in the kitchen sink and he realized something, something just snapped.
Blazegirl241 b maybe he wrote meaningful lyrics next to his kitchen sink
sure.....
Smøll Pøtatø Bean or maybe...
He did the Harlem shake next to one
I think this song is hard to understand if you haven't dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts... To me, this song is about finding meaning to your life and finding something to hold on to, you need this something that stop you from killing yourself and that what kitchen sink mean to me.. if you dont have something, whats the point of you living? its really hard to explain this, I've been trying in so many ways but you just have to feel it to really know what tyler is feeling... and also when tyler says "go away" and "leave me alone" and in the end he say "dont leave me alone" its probably really hard to understand if you dont know this felling when you push everyone away and say you want to be alone but you really want your friends even if you stop talking to them, tou want to get well and you want to have fun with the people you love but you keep pushing them... I just think that tou need to feel this to really know the meaning of this song..
Nitzan Anavi. you can truly hear the pain in his voice. i think that’s what makes it so powerful, along with actually understanding why he would feel that way.
The part with tyler saying “leave me alone” and “don’t leave me alone” could mean that he was telling his demons to leave him alone but sometimes people think that they are drifting apart from him and he realizes it and then he says to them to not leave him alone
I remember tyler said that he was designing a logo with this dude on Microsoft pait and the dude did random rectangles and tyler said that should be the new logo
Where did you find this information??
Just to clarify: the Pop Song Professor is amazing and very good at analyzing a song's deeper meaning.... but I will not be watching this video. I know that nobody really cares about one person's stupid opinion, but hear me out. Tyler has stated multiple times that knowing that he is the only person who knows how to explain this song gives him purpose, even in his darkest moments. When other people learn and spread the meaning of this song around the internet, it starts to lose its purpose, meaning that Tyler believes that he will lose his purpose. I'm sorry for the long comment but please, please hear me out.
Fair enough.
I need to find my kitchen sink... who else?
TWDRickGrimes yessss
i have a stove
Same
DONE
Sameee
I can't support you because I'm not old enough but I give a like to all your videos

The Profesor`s rap attempt was better than i thought :D
lol thanks
1 second after I saw this that part came up lol
what we've all been waiting for!
Exactly!
True
BEFORE I START WATCHING I WANNA SAY THAT THE THUMBNAIL MADE ME LAUGH.
" I don't have a mic..... I have a stapler though....
Oh gosh that was way louder than I thought it would be and its also not my stapler... I have to return that to work."
xD
I still haven't returned it yet.
lol
Do "Lovely" please! NOT GIVING UP
Chandler McCraw I heard something about how it was a song Tyler made when Josh was really depressed for a few weeks or so
By eyelash Billie? I mean Billie eyelash
The thumbnail perfectly describes my reaction to this video
:)
I'm not even going to talk about how amazing and deep kitchen sink is, tHE STAPLER I'M CRYIBG
Addict with a pen please! That has to be one of my favorites.
Same
Hey The Pop Song Professor! I just want to say I really love your channel, it's honestly amazing. You're so smart and everything.
Yes!!! This made me so happy! Explanation on point, as always. And your rapping was so adorable!
I love the chorus for Kitchen Sink, it's super relatable, because often when people (like me) are struggling with their own problems and demons (for me it's depression) we have this conflicting desire that we want everyone else, including friends & people who can help us, away, for their protection or because we personally think we're not worth it or our problems are not a big deal. At the same time we desperately want someone to notice and answer our cry for help, which is why the end of Kitchen Sink is so poignant when after repeating "go away, leave me alone" Tyler screams "don't leave me alone".
Well said.
I have a theory, I think Tyler's brother tried to kill himself at a kitchen sink, it didn't work and I think tyler realized the purpose of life and how important it is to stay alive, that's why his brother is in the song.
That's just what i think makes sense but obviously it's just a theory.
Ahhh, I remember when you explained this in a podcast a while ago! This video is a great condensed version of that.
Thanks, Madison! You've been around for a while. Thanks for sticking around. :)
thank you for the video! Also, I really like that you are a genuine person, you seem very kind. the world is definitley lacking nice people. And you seem so grateful about people helping you out and you dont beg and you're understanding if someone can't donate. so thanks for that, you seem like a cool dude 👍👍
also your rap was 100/10 👏👏
Oh, thanks! Super kind of you to say these things. :) Glad you're here
The Pop Song Professor :)
these tøp videos have been so cool. Good job.
Thanks!
i respect that you rapped the rapping parts
i love to think we're definitely meant to sing along with Tyler when he's singing 'go away leave me alone' as a unison of the fanbase to repel those negative emotions, and at the end 'don't leave me alone' because in a way these negative emotions make us the reason why we fight in the first place, such as if we all live without negative emotions it would be more like a hero without a villain, such as the balance between the good and the evil makes us who we are.
This is is my favourite by this band because when I first listened to it I understood what Tyler was trying to say.
This song is my motivation for my artisty. THANKS TYLER
I thought the "Leave me alone... don't leave me alone" part is about wanting people to stay away from your problems, but at the same time wanting their help
But you're not wrong, everyone can find their own meaning to a song
OH MY GID IM SO FRIGGIN EXCITED RIGHT NOW THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, YOURE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!
:)
The Pop Song Professor
Leedle
hey love your channel
Thanks so much!
I laughed so hard when you decided to drop a stapler bc you didn't have a mic to drop!
also could you please explain 20 dollar nose bleed by fall out boy bc I am so confused
you seem like a very kind and genuine human being. someone people would want to be friends with. I like that
Thanks!
The Pop Song Professor you're welcome
OML I loved the rapping part it's the best one attempted I ever saw much respect
Oooo! Yes! I love this!!!
Reminds me of the (now out of print) Stephen King story "Rage". At the very end, the main character says something along the lines of how he's hiding something because everyone needs to have a secret in order to stay sane.
Love your work...... I love tøp
Loved the mic drop Lol. You earned it.
lol Glad you liked it
Yesyesyes. i ponder on it daily☺
the decision between learning drown or kitchen sink is tearing me to pieces
That rap took me an entire WEEK to learn, haha. Worth it
This was great. I'd love to see you do Drown from no phun intended next.
I like when you explaine difficult lines, line by line
"pretending enemies are frenimies"
- God tells you to love your enemies, maybe that was what was referenced there.
I remember, when I was looking at a bunch of tøp stuff, I saw this thing that gets even more deep into the kitchen sink logo. It said that there's a way you could hang yourself with a kitchen sink. So maybe the | represents the sink, the - is the rope/noose, and the / is the person. Idk if that's true, but it's just really cool to think about. 😊
Anastasia Wadleigh I wouldn’t say it’s a cool thing to think about since the theory also ties in to what might have happened to Tyler at his kitchen sink and that’s why the logo could represent that method of suicide, I think you could put two and two together
Hey!
I Love Your Videos!
You Should Do Lovely From Regional At Best.
Keep It Up :D
you did the fast part very good!
the last time i was this early, heath hussar still had a beard.
(THIS IS DARK AND IS NOT MY THEORY) Did anybody hear the really dark theory about this song, ok starting with the history of tyler, tyler has said that he did try to commit suicide and he did not tell anybody how. There is a way to commit suicide by hanging your self by a kitchen sink, rope would go on the sink and then the person would lean forward, this is vary dark and this way of suicide goes with the song name and the logo of the |-/, and the kitchen sink to him is diffrent because of this.
OH JEEZ...
It’s really wrong to theorize about their own personal life(especially when it’s about suicide or self-harm etc) this is something personal to them
People say the theory is wrong because he said something amazing happened at the kitchen sink, but I believe that if this theory is true than the amazing thing that happened to him was surviving and the realization that he’s important and he can fight through his pain
Shhh, it loses its meaning if people know. What else could be the "catastrophe at my kitchen sink" but that realization to Stay Alive would definitely be a good thing, especially how he spreads the word and uses his music to be there for others who are in the position that he once was.
I think I remember an interview where he said that a friend was playing around on a computer and came up with the logo. I don't know though. He has so many stories, no telling what is real anymore haha. But I can tell that he was very angry as a kid, whether it was all internal or he let it out in different ways. (Obviously, he let it out through his words, but i'm talking about "other" ways)
STAPLER DROP
im using that now
I came as soon as I heard
A. Hamilton same!!!
A. Hamilton Pardon me, are you Aaron burr, sir?
It's possible but is it plausible? That's plausible, who's asking?
all the way from London
DAMN
A. Hamilton 😂 I love this
You got a new sub :D
It really helped me. I finally understand the logo meaning and kitchen sink meaning . This time I really get it. My purpose. His purpose is his and mine is mine. Others don't have to understand my purpose and I don't have to understand others. Wow.. I really get it
BEFORE YOU START YOUR DAY
sadly tyler joseph commited suicide when he was only 17 at a kitchen sink he found out you could commit suicide by tying a noose to a sink and leaning forward he tried but failed but if you look at the band logo l-/: l is the sink - is the rope / is tyler
When did Tyler explain the logo?
A while ago but it's on Wikipedia.
OMG YES I LOVE THIS
:)
That Stapler Drop tho 😂💀
7:21 HAHAHAHA Clifford you seem like such a funny guy i really love this part lmaooo
great video!! but I have a qeustion why at the end he says dont leave me alone?
AhhHhHH how did you just so casually rap that verse so good wot
I didn't realize that I had youtube sped up at 1.25 speed so i thought you were a legend at rapping kitchen sink
Thank you 👍
3:40- I think personally that he's singing it as if it's to people who care about him trying to help him and try to help because the "leave me alone" part later changes to him yelling "don't leave me alone" meaning he needs help but he's pushing others away from him.
Me:watches this right after I learned to do the rap to the bridge
i know its not twenty one pilots, but TB Saga by Tyler Joseph. Once i started looking i realized it had the deepest meaning of all of their songs
Tbh I hate the theory of Tyler trying to kill himself at a kitchen sink
Amanda Minezz why.
Me too.
K
he said in an interview that it was because he realized something at a kitchen sink
lol when he drops it and says "oh gosh" lmaooo
You did Zack's rap LEAGUES better than I can. Haha.
I always had this thought that "I'm a kitchen sink." went along with the phrase "everything except the kitchen sink" so maybe he felt like he was always left behind like nobody wanted him.
nomatophobia it’s “at my kitchen sink”
Daaaammmm Legit You Can Really Rap
Rest in peace, not Clifford's stapler. lol
lol!!!!
Please do *Blurry line*, thank you.
The meaning of a kitchen sink:
Water drops down and then it is gone. Some call it waste of water. Wasting time. That's all what comes up.
