I like how in the hell segment, even after all that insanity and Mabel eh...clearly not being all there, the second guy's last action was still to write her name in the book as she asked. I mean, batshit insane and probably having done horrible things or not, she did help them to the very end. I was expecting her to betray them or something, but nope, got out, they just died to the coven. I think the hell one's my favorite!
I agree 100% that the Y2K aspect was very underused. If anything, "The Subject" from VHS94 had more to do with Y2K because of the scientist's creation suddenly coming to life and attacking the SWAT team. (The titular subject is even called S.A.99, come on now), and with Ozzy's Dungeon, Nickelodeon's game show peak was much closer to 1994. Those two shorts should've switched movies.
@@polar627 It is not FoundFlix fault, but I couldn't finish this one. This VHS99 is low grade junk and a waste of time. Seriously low grade handicapped film-making considering they had resources.
Ozzy was Nyarlathotep. The Bloated Woman is one of his many "masks", or avatars. He's also the only Lovecraftian entity that actively involves himself in the affairs of humans.
I actually have to disagree.. He does have the ability to create a human visage to walk among man but his goals are usual to help spread the worship of the old gods and is more of a deceiver who meddles with human affairs. Of the top of my head Yog-sathoth would make the most sense, he is generally described as a amorohous tentacled mass with an orb and is generally more involved with helping to complete rituals and has been called upon by different means that sometimes involve some sort of sacrifices.
This is a bunch of nonsense that you pulled out of your ass. In what story does Nyarlathotep grant wishes to humans? It's just a random monster/god they made up for the movie.
There's a very common misperception with DefCon(Defense Condition) rankings. DefCon 5 is rated as the "least severe". DefCon 1 is "most severe" a.k.a. imminent catastrophe. But, people still think that the higher the number, the greater the danger. And my response will, I assume, change none of that.

I honestly liked that a lot of segments aren't connected, it really tells you that we live in a world of unexplainable monsters and anomalous events. No single force is behind it all to connect to.
sure none of them will ever be as good as VHS 2, but goshdarnit i got a soft spot for the franchise and love it when a new short freaks the fucking shit out of me.
The mom saying her daughter was supposed to get them out the hood is crazy😭Too many parents out here doing nothing for their kids, but expecting to be taken care of for the rest of their life.
So I've said this before, but I'll say it again, I love foundflix. I enjoy the story from horror movies but due to PTSD from being an Army vet who deployed, I can't do jump scares. Awesome work!
Hey Foundflix, I reached out to you on your last vhs ending explained. Thought it was neat but they shot the final vampire scene on our farm and rented the white dodge 250 that had the 50 cal mounted on it from me. We got to play with their props, and I even have some of the blank casings we fired from the 50 cal

I don't feel bad for the boys in the Medusa story, especially Brady and his brother. These boys shouldn't have messed with the gorgon and now they have paid the price.

Bout time you got to this i was getting worried. Nice intro that static effect looks somewhat believable. Also 12:40 its more like legends of the hidden temple combined with double dare.
So, Legends of the Hidden Temple was rigged because they didn't have the budget to award the final prizes and former contestants have talked about how traumatizing the show was.
I LOVE the concept of the last tape, of what would happen if a demon was sent back to hell while it was holding on to you and then using said ritual to teleport yourself back to earth.
I think you would like Petscop and Velle Verde. They’re YT series that use the medium of video games from the 90’s to tell a story, similar to how V/H/S uses, well, VHS tapes.
I really would love to see the Winters do their section as a bigger movie, but focusing on a cheap mockumentary about suburban witches who have actual powers and summon real demons. It'd be cliche, but that super dry and banal delivery from the witches combined with a couple low rent videographers being in over their heads would be really funny. Definitely better than the actual hellscape stuff they did.
Anyone remember the 90s kids show Legends of the Hidden Temple? That show had obstacle courses that had a rain forest type vibe that reminded me of the Ozzys game show that was in this movie.
