- I just realized I misspelled differences in the video. I don't feel like going back and edit that, because I will have to wait another 44 minutes for the video to save. Videos like this takes hours to make. The video is actually for anyone that has only played one version of Head On and not the other.

The PSP music for Dark Tooth's battle is literally the most kickass sound out of this entire soundtrack. It kills me that this song was replaced by that damn drum bongo music on the PS2 version... Dx
The music is added in to Transylvania :)
I agree, its so unfitting its like fighting a god of war boss with an electronic music
That bongo music is the mini-game music.
@@ajboomer1347 Which mini-game ?
@@laurentiusmcmxcv All of them.
Luis, this is just the video I was looking for! You are a true Twisted Metal fanatic!
Yes I like the Psp version better.
@@antresia.9723 I only have the PSP version.
I have honestly played both versions, but I never noticed any differences, well except the Transylvania level. Thanks for posting this.
Ya
they really need to make a NEW twisted metal with all the good characters in it and good stages from TM1 TM2 and black TM2 remake would be SO BADASS part two was my favorite in series but COME ON SONY WE NEED A PS4 game that feels like the old games which were dark like 1,2 and black ,head on was good but We need new GAME
Didn't you play the ps3 game? It was damn good.
Hijynx87 Yeah but imagine a 1080p 60 fps twisted metal on PS4
This may sound strange, but I don't think the cars are slower in the PS2, but that maybe that the stages are bigger in the PS2 version. Just a thought
That is actually correct.
@@laurentiusmcmxcv you can tell by some of the pick ups being bigger in the other version and the ps2 they're smaller
“Cudin Eddy.”
i love cousin eddy from Twisted metal head on he goes up the air
Shame the PS2 version changed the main title theme, really liked how chill and mischievous it was compared to Extra Twisted Edition's.
I liked the Extra Twisted Edition Theme and they recycled the Original Menus theme for when you revisit LA after going through the Mini game in the level
A twisted metal game shouldnt be chill, dont you think?
yes dude dont have the transylvania level in psp :(
Another important difference is that n the ps2 version the vehicles now show the selected weapon, easily seen in the napalm example
In the psp ver, the only time that happens is when the special is selected
I don't know why Sony didn't use the same architecture as the ps2 for the psp then they could have ported ps2 and ps1 games to the psp with no extra work. It would have been free money!
right smh lazy sony lol
i like this comment
What TM3 should have been...
in ps2 version, crimson fury is look bit different from psp version
in psp - crimson fury is look like ferrari enzo
in ps2 - have a same rims, and front light, but design of ps2 version is look more like lamborghini diablo
Cool! Now I know why I can't make those damn jumps!
About "it shows the car you're using after you beat Tower Tooth" for the PS2 instead of showing Tower Tooth being destroyed...
That's actually half true. Sometimes, when beating the game (PS2), you actually get to see T.Tooth being destroyed. Some other times, however, you see your vehicle. I don't know why this happens.
I haven't had a PSP in a long time so I haven't played TMHO on that in a minute, but I have the PS2 game. I think what happened is they made the turbo less powerful because driving without it looks the same. 3:02
Outlaw's special spins around faster. Also I find the opponents drive through walls sometimes and randomly teleport around the map. It kind of feels like the PS2 game was outsourced to another company. Anyway I'm going back to my parents basement now :p
Which version do you prefer? I think the edge goes to the PSP version if you take out all of PS2's extra content and just leave the base game.
PSP
Cool Mr Slam's special in online!. I love Mr Slam,
There coolest level called TRANSYLVANIA in PS2 version, I though it have on PSP? It is only online?
Actually, the song that plays in the first level on the psp also plays on the ps2. Sometimes the song doesn't play if you skip the intro tho. Well, thats what happened to me
@LuisParson what does that "unlocked primed" cheat do?
Psp feels less arcadish and more balanced, im glad i played the psp version, i miss it so much!
Another difference I noticed: The back half of Crimson Fury is different in both versions
Ikr? I prefer the ps2 version. looks nice on the back
Spectre's car on the PS2 version looks better without the spoiler.
yep
I don't think so. i only played PSP version.
I've also noticed that the weapons on the ps2 will come out of your car. Like the napalm can comes out the trunk. It doesnt do that in the PSP version
This also applies to TML
I think they borrowed those animations from TMB. Kinda neat tho ngl
Crimson furry changed from a fugly enzo clone to a bad ass countach clone
As for jumping the ramps it looks more like gravity physics more-so than vehicle speed. PSP looks more floaty with higher launches while PS2 seemed to not launch the car nearly as high and the car gets pulled down stronger.
That and the stages are slightly larger
When i first haded the psp it was good but when i first had the ps2 version i though the game was messed up so thanks for the video
Why would they slow down the ps2 vehicles?
The way damage output works with Remote Bombs and Napalm alone shows how lazy of an effort the port was. To just set one, static damage value for the weapon instead of the varying one is such a drastic change to the weapon works that it's blaringly obvious to veterans of the series.
psp is more better than ps2 because crimson fury has a ferrari look a like model and cousin eddy can speak in the cutscene
I hated the differences cause they were so easy to notice but its still an amazing game none the less
I guess this shows that its worth picking up both versions.
At the time of typing this comment, I own all of the Twisted Metal games!
@LuisParson No, it works! I just dont know what it does.... In the story mode, use up ALL of your weapons then press: up, x, up, x, L + R. (PSP version) its very strange. It sounds like im makin this up, but i swear its a real code for the game. When done correctly, theres a message that says "Unlocked Primed". But i have no clue what that means.
Are u sure your not making this up? Because I done the step what u said and it said nothing.
The ps2 port sucks so much I only got extra twisted for the lost sequel to black
haziq hamzahmy beat story on hard with or without cheats :P
I thought I was the only one who prefered Lost over PS2 Head On
Not really fuck it up, but changed a few things. It has more detail, looks better, and somethings like Slam's special were made better, and the gas can/remote bomb more lethal. Only downside I see it the lack of napalm cones for Tower Tooth and the speed being lowered.
how i know what version are you playing in every clip
For PSP, the screen is smaller, and has a flashing green line at the bottom
This game should have Drop a Napalm Gas Can like in TM BLACK, it can drop a can and few secs then power up and big explosive and heavy damages
I hate how they make the music for the final boss(s) in the PS2 version just the challenges music. So unfitting and it doesn't make the fight feel epic at all.
Plus some songs are cut from the PS2 version.
@@ajboomer1347 Did you make a lost bits style video on them?
@@nxx99 No.
The background music in roman ruins are different
So, which version do you guys prefer? I prefer both.
+haziq hamzahmy me to
The PS2 version was so watered down and cheap feeling. It felt like a Chinese bootleg of the PSP version.
Oof
Best part about the PS2 version was the tokyo battle music sick ass beats
Ima saying Twisted Metal Black looks so much better, because, some areas have set on fires, people walking around outside, blood and gore, can damages building things, like windows and etc, and some areas properties destroyed, like in skyscrapers level there plane crash sites on roofs, entire city damages, and story are pretty good though, Also HEAD ON good either, I like both game, but I like TM BLACK so far and Twisted Metal 4 for me alot fun, I have every TM games! :)
The only blood and gore in tmb are the cutscenes, but you are right i think tmb had more enviromental destruction
I remember this game on my psp i never stopped playin it my mother board fried and now im about to get a 3000 hopefully i can find my game and i know every cheat for the game
I just realized that spectre's model in both consoles are different
Only the PSP version has the spoiler
The Health color is different, PS2 its red on the and on the sides its blue, PSP its blue and on the outside its red.
I prefer Black as well. Best one in the series. The reason for the blood and gore, everything set to fire, destroyed, etc, is because of it's darker atmosphere. Black takes place in Sweet Tooth's mind, while Head-On is a direct sequel to TM2 on the PSOne. Plus, Head-On was developed for PSP, it isn't capable of the kind of detail that Black had. Don't get me wrong, Head-On is still graphically amazing as it is.
Oh this game have Napalm Gas Can and TM BLACK weapon not same like that anyway...
I didnt know that it was ported to the ps2, I still can't beat tower tooth
I have beaten tower tooth more than once!
Well i can use any cars jump it with L1+R1 without upgrade it or with upgrade, Dark Tooth is faster than any cars
I hav the PSP version
Me too
Me 2 dude
I only have the PS2 version.
You can hear music track from level 1 in PSP is rock ps2 is techno
you can hear it in ps2 to but you have to wait until all the cinematic finish
then, whats the better vesion???
The PSP version is better.
+LuisParson thanks friend :D, and a last question, if i want to buy if i want to buy it for ps3, do you think thats well???...
Both are ok, ps2's is noticeably harder
Ugh, I really hated how damage was so much higher in the port. The PSP version was so much better. Especially when Dark/Tower Tooth's music sounded like it came from Jak and Daxter on the PS2 version...
Does anyone still play this online through the psp? I logged on today and saw nothing
+Cameron Robertson Is there a way to play online again?
+Cameron Robertson That might work, thanks
+No Face I looked into this and sadly the only way online multiplayer works is through a LAN network, but even that only covers a small geographic area.
I think some people are working on it
11:36 what you mean??
psp is awesome
so they fucked up the ps2 version? feels bad man
isn't the difference ABYSMAL?
The PSP looked and felt better. PS2 felt buggy and wonky and looked disgusting.
What makes you say that, friend?
Scott Lange In terms of Twisted Metal Head-On
Black will always be the best in the series along with 2, lol
@@scottlange7109 the hell does tmb have to do with anything
The ps2 version really is inferior to me.
The PSP version was the best.Felt more natural, especially in controls and visuals. I raped online. I remeber how online was so pathetic. They had chat lobbys for fugly looking dudes and chicks looking for an online "lover".
Is better psp or ps2???
+Matiii //as// The PSP is better.
***** ok, thanks for your answer.
+LuisParson really
PSP version is much better.
No Face ps2 version is a port
I beated this game on ps2 I know 3 cheats
another thing: NO EXTRA CONTENT, unfortunately
The only reason I prefer the PS2 version is because I don't like to buy failing game consoles/handhelds
The PSP is a failure? it sold more than 70 million units worldwide.
PSP? A failure? Now that's fucking bullshit.
+Frank McCutcheon does that shatter your jaw and break your nose?
Hey. That hurts!
