Hi Maddy, I’m currently in my first year at UBC and just want to say thank you for sharing your experience and encouraging words! This term did not all go as I wanted it to but it helps to know I’m not alone I’m feeling that way and it doesn’t define me as a person or as a student :)
GIRL! I FEEL YOU. My grade for MATH 200 is absolutely trash, but I’m just proud I passed! *LIFE LESSON: Don’t ruin your sanity by taking Math 200/Calculus 3 if you don’t have to kids
I hated having to take bio, when it is only loosely related to my area of science. The "good" grades I slipped by with can be chalked up to pure LUCK for a major part. I very much agree that one bad grade doesn't define you, and especially if it's not even in your area of study. That lesson was difficult for me to learn as an above 4.0 high school keener. I do agree though, that the basics are necessary, and am glad to have taken them (and still take them).
