Hi Jenn! I'm a 90's kid too. I grew up listening to this superb music. We get to hear noise in today's music and sex sells in music today. It's year 2015 and I'm still listening to these amazing 90's bands. Even if it is year 2100, I would still be listening to this great music.

Never Gone was truly one of the best album the backstreet boys ever came out with, but the critics absolutely thrashed it to the ground resulting in no radio plays and as a result, Never Gone never saw the light it always deserved. THE MOST UNDERRATED ALBUM OF ALL TIME.

It’s more so to do with the horrible and manipulative record label and contracts they get stuck with. Like the label refused to support and promote their album at the time Nick released his first solo album. The label promoted Nick but not the group. 🙄
There are really only 2 songs on the album that trouble me. Max Martin's "Just Want You To Know ", which is obviously a paint by numbers attempt to capitalize on "Since U Been Gone" which he also wrote, and My Beautiful Woman which just falls flat compared to all the other tracks.

My wife passed the year before this came out. I knew that Kevin had written the song "Never Gone" about his father's death, so I was prepared for that track, but then this track played, and the tears started running down my face, then Kevin hit his solo, and I was sobbing. I skipped playing this song on the CD for several months before I was ready to hear it again. Now I playing every year on the evening of the anniversary of my wife's passing. The listening gets easier, but the "punch" is still hard.
I honestly think the Backstreet Boys are the most harmonic pop group in the history of music. Much better than about any other pop singer/group today. There's really no comparison.

That's because some of them are family and some are friends since childhood so they have known each other for quite a while, and that helps a lot because you know the other person's voice as much as they do, but definitely what differentiates bsb from other boy bands is that every single one of them sing in every song, for example, NSYNC was just JC's and Justin's voice all the time the other 3 guys were just dance crew hahahah (and really bad) but you never heard their voices except for choirs and really in the back

Backstreet Boys are as successful as they are partly due to their close bond and personalities. They support each other, their ❤ for each other is incredible. Even their wives and kids feature in a song - what a great clan! Kevin went away for a bit and came back after 6 years, and picked up where they left off. Very proud of them 🥰.

I didn't understand the beauty of this song back when I was in the middle school, but now this song is on repeat
this song is very special to me, because when my father died peacefully on his bed last November 1, 2009, after saying RAIN many times, this song played on the radio, because my father loves to listen to his radio. I still remember I keep crying and crying while hugging his lifeless body as this I still song keeps playing.. then after that it RAIN all over outside of our house. 😭😭💔💔

"I Still" will always be my favorite BSB song of all time, and I'm not ashamed to admit I still get chills when I hear Kevin and AJ singing harmony in the bridge at the end.
AJ has always sounded so amazing when harmonizing with the Kentucky cousins. They complement his voice so much.
Fun fact- when this album came out, especially this song, I went down to SC for vacation and I was bummed out because I started talking to this guy who I had a huuuuge crush on. But it was complicated. All these years have passed, this song still reminds me of that guy... Who is now my husband :D

I'm a family man in my early 50's (late-20's during the 90's when BSB were all the rage), and I've always been a fan. This song to me is their best of all time, despite the negative critical reception that the album (Never Gone) received. There is a profound sadness in the arrangement and melody, especially the chorus, that just tugs at your heartstrings. And then Kevin goes and holds that long note in the bridge. Damn me.

Haha early 30s here and its been a guilty pleasure. Just such great harmony, and their songs are so well written (for their individual vocal traits) and when I heard this in a Macy's earlier today, I honestly thought it was a brand new song, and that it was a young artist. Then I immediately recognized Nick's voice, and I was blown away by how great the vocals are. Its truly wonderful music, no matter if you're a man or woman!
