+petkoff This is just my observation, so take it with a grain of salt. Lee's range isn't as high as say, Josh Groban. Josh knows how to regulate his singing so that he isn't tired on the parts where he has to belt out. Lee is the opposite, he visibly strains himself trying to reach the high notes like in 3:13. The reason he sounds good with the other three members of Blue is because they are there to give him a chance to catch his breath. I highly doubt Lee would be able to hit those high notes consistently if he were singing continuously.

What I don't understand is why Lee Ryan is not given credit for his vocal ability & range, this guy is one of the best singers the UK has ever produced. It's just not fair. The guy is insanely talented.
I think back then , boy bands were viewed with a fair bit of contempt. Whereas now, we realise a lot of them were v v talented. Blue were huge but the boyband thing stopped them being taken seriously.
When I lost my girlfriend many years ago aged 24 in a road traffic collision l played this song over and over as I tried to grieve , until finally I realised she wasn’t coming back and I wouldn’t see her again. After that I never listened to music or movies with happy endings for ten years. Listening now to this song again years later it’s so powerful and emotional. Amazing.

well nothing in particular but if you look up any recent performances he doesn't sound quite the same. He's had a bit of a drinking problem and throat surgery.
