@@afrostevie I only have the first game so idk how bad it truly is, However from the reviews the state the early access was launched in was completely unacceptable
Early access shouldn't be an excuse to release a game in a completely broken and unfinished state, Especially a state where tons of reviews complain about Networking problems, Bugs infesting nearly every portion of the game, Only one single map and absolutely 0 modding support
Obviously early access is a great way for dev's to raise money and get feedback but from what it sounds like this isnt even early access and it hasnt even left the testing stage yet.
@@afrostevie As someone invested in the whole ordeal, it's a VERY long story, rife with unhappy devs, corporate meddling, and dumb decisions.
@@cryolocker0224 torn banner studios (guys who made chivalry 1 and 2) bought out the guys who did the original game when the original devs were working on nmrih2 for years, torn banner had them scrap everything and worked alongside those devs for the last 2 years creating this. it's really sad because it's nothing like the first game at all. i'd wait on getting it until it's been ironed out, since it seems like it has a lot of potential, but it seems *okay*. torn banner isn't really open minded with the idea of modding support, so it's most likely never getting it either
no infection like the first game, the ammo system has been dumbed down to try and reach a wider audience, etc etc. imo they should've just done a series of open and closed betas to gather feedback and released in october of 2025, but what can you do i suppose
“Early Access” has lost its meaning when developers use that label as an excuse to release incomplete games. This is a perfect example, tbh. They’re basically using the release of their game as an Alpha Test 😅

Get that money, Bo, but this game is actual garbage. Like genuine trash. There's no solo play, no servers, a single map, no infection mechanic, the inventory was turned into a joke, and the netcode makes a 2005 PC port of a Japanese fighting game look angelic.
Wait hold up they removed the infection mechanic? Wow that is absolutely not a good sign for the future of the game.

while it's a bit pleasing to have this game finally arrive and its satisfying to watch your video, I honestly don't like how this game turned out. Once Torn Banner put their hands on it, it's clear it wasn't going to be a worthy sequel on release. I still have hope they'll make the game better in a year or two

The issue isn't that the game is bad at all the issue is that the devs promised NMRIH with expanded content and better graphics and then they sold the game to Torn Banner who toned down the realism and brutality and reformulated the game to not be almost one to one with NMRIH

Yep, so much that comes out nowadays are just inferior versions of old games that require massive hardware. I mean, look at Star Wars Battlefront 2 that game came out 6 years ago and looked brilliant while running fine on a 1070 or 1080 since it had a custom made engine. Now everything is made by talentless UE5 devs and all look the same, play the same and run like garbage

No More Room in Hell was great fun, so I'm hoping this proper game is also fun.
It really captured the atmosphere of a zombie apocalypse perfectly, with real consequences for every movement, attack, etc. Ammo was limited and zombies, while slow, were more numerous than you could deal with. So you had to constantly move while completing the objectives on each level.
This seems like a more open world version of the original, which could either be good or bad, not sure from just this gameplay.
Doesn't help they may or may not have built there own engine somewhat from scratch cause the old one ran on a modified version of Half-life 2's Source engine

This looks rough around the edges, but the core loop looks amazing. I hope the devs keep putting their heart and soul into this game, cause when it's done, i'll be uninstalling Left 4 Dead, and _this_ and Project Zomboid will be my go-to funny horror games with the lads.

Honestly this look very promising, i love NMRIH 1, it was such a good game for it time. The gameplay is somewhat janky but very much fun. I remember spending alot of time playing every mission the game have. The different between a good lobby and one that have brainrot is very present. Even now, the first game is still very fun and those who hadn't play it should try it out, it free after all
