Just a detail that wasn't clarified: the rebound damage can't reduce your car's build by more than *the original build of your target*. So, if you're attacking a heavy bike with 3 build, even if the bike currently has 1 build left, your rebound damage can still take up to 3 build points from your car
Thank you for explaining Call of Cthulhu in a fun and easy way to understand. I’m starting some first time players and I’ll be sure to send them your way.
Your videos on call of Cthulhu are great! Iv really wanted to but I usually play online and use digital character sheets, any way I could get a digital sheet?
Thank you! I actually used these rules in my session last weekend and they worked really well and was easy to follow. Plus, the players loved it! Only thing I need is proper 1920 chase music, since Spotify only gives me futuristic music :P
Thread necromancy, but using the current build of a car is RAW for collisions and attacks? Seems silly, the build should stay the same just like a person's does when they take damage. I did not read it your way, but maybe I missed that specific rule. Great videos btw, well done!
It sounds like in theory you COULD have chase scenes with slower pursuers, assuming it was somewhere the PCs couldn't just run through, simply by making the slowest enemy make the base. Though perhaps that is best done by a series of rooms with a implied time limit instead.
Very nice. Thanks for covering this as I'm still having trouble with the chase rules. Could you do a chase scene breakdown with horses? I'm running Down Darker Trails.
Question cj As a keeper how would you manage when the player wants to do basically any of the physics defying initial d maneuvers like the gutter technique, blind attack etc
It's really just flavour isn't it? Initial D techniques essentially just achieve something conventional with style. I say just let him describe his actions as more impressive driving techniques if he rolls hard success or better.
@@DontStopThinking i mean doesnt the rules of chase scenes apply to say some nasty turns? I mean look at wrc, at least they have an excuse to drift and angle their car so they can exit fast
Hey, question. I’m not sure if this is an actual rule or some house rule that I heard, but can Character who have multiple movement actions spend one to get a bonus die on an action that same turn? Also, when doing vehicular fighting maneuvers, do you use the vehicle’s original build size or their adjusted build?
That's a house rule, but it is fair. It would be more realistic to use the adjusted build. But the book does not directly specify this. The rulebook has tons of optional rules, so it is up to the keeper to implement rules that will make the game more fun.
@@DontStopThinking Spending movement actions for bonus dice is actually in the rules book (at least the core 7e one). Hidden in a paragraph on page 135 the rulebook states "If a character elects to take a cautious approach, movement actions may be spent to gain bonus dice on the skill roll to negotiate a hazard. 1 movement action buys 1 bonus die, or 2 movement actions buys 2 bonus dice (2 bonus dice is the maximum that can be rolled). "

There is a youtube setting for creators to indicate whether any of their contents are intended for kids. I have chosen the option that states that all of my contents are intended for adults (above 13). So it should be fine. But who knows, YT may mess up.

(Wait, is Lucille going to start transforming into a Deep One on her birthday? Is that why she's depressed?)
maybe but if we go by what we see in hp lovecraft story they seem to like being a deep one so if that was it she would be happy.

What an amazing channel! Getting into CoC is not the easiest thing to do. This is very helpful and entertaining! The animations are awesome!
Dude, huge thanks for those tutorials. I Guess it'd take me forever to learn all of this purely from the book

I use 1920s jazz and Nox Arcana when playing call of cthulhu. Switching between them depending on the location and what is happening.
That... was a big slice of awesome. Thank you.
3 weeks on and I'm still disappointed that you didn't say "lets cut to the chase"

Refer to horse movement rates
I actually like this I want to make my own thing
This kind of looks like the Chase is closer to the purpose of a Combat encounter in D&D that the Combat is in CoC.
I think that something like a grid would be useful in a chase

Ah fuck, I can't believe you've done this
Missed a perfectly good time to say "let's cut to the chase" at the start of the video.
So you only roll the CON check or the Drive check once at the beginning of the chase, not every round of the chase?
Are you doing cliffhangers too, now??
I wonder if you play superhero ttrpgs too
What if there is only one escapee? Is everyone removed if they are faster than them? That doesn't seem fair. :D
