If you read this far, I love you ❤️😘
There's a reason that this is considered the greatest rock song. Ever.
In order to truly appreciate this song, you have to listen to it on and off for the next 40 years :)
Been doing it for 50 now and counting.
@@vernhoke7730 I am with you. About 50yrs and will keep listening to it for many yrs to come
Amen brotha!
"Stairway To Heaven" is more than THE antheme of the whole Rock History. It's THE revelation at all.
Now you have given them your soul and they'll never give it you back.
As a traveler, I visited some English and Welsh villages on a misty morning. I thought to myself..."The first part of Stairway to Heaven!"
I saw them in 1972 when I was 15 yrs old, my first concert.
Oh zeppelin, never gets old, have loved them for 50 years! Still my all time favorite!!!
This song is a "Slow burn" it's a ballad that builds to a rocker at the end!
Listen to "Heart" doing this song for the Kennedy honors Live with Led Zepplin being honored. It will blow your mind.
Not your typical rocker, Led Zep has plenty of them. But it’s the perfect song. The beautiful intro, the intriguing thought provoking lyrics, the 7 minute build up, incredible solo, and crescendo ending! Check out Immigrant Song for a rocker, Since I’ve Been Loving You for blues rock, Kashmir for eastern influences, or Thank You for a beautiful song!
“Since I’ve Been Loving You” - live at Madison Square Garden, 1973 would be a excellent exposure to a whole other side of Plant’s voice. “Whole Lotta Love” - official music video is another one.
Yes "Since I've Been Loving You" - the best version all time in MSG'73
You need to watch any of Led Zeppelin's live performances from their Madison Square Garden 1973 show - such as Since I've Been Loving You.
Yes, those are recorders at the beginning, performed by John Paul Jones.
4 band members…no weaklinks. Their music is deep and powerful….Number 1 song of all time to me.
Great reaction. Really, now that you heard this you should watch it live MSG 1973. Its also a extended version Must see.
I think I HAVE listened to this song 700 more times. Fabulous reaction! ⛅
I've heard the song 25,000 times and it STILL gives me goosebumps
Plants voice and vocal range pre 1973 was insane. Unfortunately, he had surgery to remove vocal nodules in ‘73 and lost a lot of his upper register.
Everyone recommends live performances from their MSG ‘73 show but if you want to see Plant in his prime, check out anything from Royal Albert Hall in 1970.
It amazes me that there are still people who have never heard this song
To be clear, the comment about Kashmir was in reference to another Zeppelin song called Kashmir...not the fabric. If you want a really great representation of Robert Plant's voice, I highly suggest "Since I've Been Loving You" (some would suggest the live version from Madison Square Garden in 1973, but the studio version is also a great option). I also suggest checking out the tribute version of this song sung by Ann Wilson of Heart at the Kennedy Center Honors where they honored Led Zeppelin. The best cover of this song out there - it made Robert Plant cry.
Great reaction and considered the greatest rock song ever written and if you google it you will find it listed as the #1
Do the live version from Madison Square Garden. Also a must Led Zeppelin song is "Kashmir" Live from Celebration Day Concert. They got back together 25 years later in 2007 for thisone last Concert. The Drummer is the original drummer"s son. Robert Plant vocals are even better at about age 65 in this performance.
Since I've been Loving You...Live 1973.
A classic among classics. ❤
Saw Robert Plant in concert with Alison Krauss in Texas a few weeks ago. He still has the pipes.
One of the best song ever... 🙏🤗
Three different recorders, played by Jonesey (bass and keys player of Zep) on this recording. Live, he emulates them on a Mellotron. Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.
Two words: Rain Song. Recorded or live version you will be amazed. It's beautiful.
1 of the best songs evert written
Sometimes there are Song's that should not end.
And going on forever and forever and forever...until time will stop.
And nothing will exist anymore.
Thus one is truly one of them.
Great job Maggie. Probably one of the most well known songs out there!
One of the greatest songs ever recorded. Zep's signature song!
Best quote, "How did we get here?" It slowly brings you in.
Please do their song, "Since I've been loving you."
Love your reactions. I just subscribed. You should react to since I’ve been loving you off their album Led Zeppelin 3. You’ll be able to hear the amazing range Robert Plant has . It’ll blow your mind. Thanks again for the reaction. You have a beautiful voice. Also Babe I’m gonna leave you from the mothership album
Now the live version from M.S.G. 1973...from The Song Remains The Same.
The most requested rock song in FM radio history.
You have to see them live 1973 MSG, or Earls Court 1975! The GOATS! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yes, yes, yes. Robert Plant vocals were incredible, as was everything about that performance.
Great Track 🙂
Great Reaction.
Thanks 🙂
Keep Rockin'

I have listened to it 700 hundred times more.
In 2012, Heart did a killer cover of this song at the Kennedy Center Honors (for Led Zeppelin). Lead singer Robert Plant wiped away tears during the song (although he hated the song for decades). The entire one hour deserves watching as other artists covered other Led Zep songs.
Robert hated the song because this song and Lynrd Skynrd's Freebird are the two most requested songs in rock history.
The Heart cover at this concert is a real masterpiece, featuring strings, 2 choirs and Ann Wilson, in her 60s, absolutely putying the vocals on a level that really must be witnessed to appreciate. They also used Jason Bonham, son of disceased drummer John Bonham, on drums. Plant didnt know until he hit the stage thst Jason was performing. Later, Plant explained his tears were because of how much Jason reminded him of John, and how much he missed his old friend
@@kenkonwick6660 Robert Plant wasn't crying about there singing, but he was crying about John Bonham son Jason playing the drums, because John Bonham was Plants best friend.
@@randolphpacheco3447 isnt that what i said??
Even barack Obama was there , that performance was AMAZIN !!
The famous "forbidden song" in a guitar store. I remember when this was released, it shook the world. I saw them on tour immediately following and I remember waiting for this song. It was truly amazing!
50 years later! Haha! Honstly, I once had a pen pal friend in West Virginia. And I sent her lots of Led Zeppelin as MP3's
She couldn't believe: all that folky and bluesy stuff. She had never heard it even in the US.
Like "Tea for one"; "Since I've been loving you", "Bron-yr-aur". Even a raggae song like "D'yer mak'er".
There is a lot to discover. It has a reason, that they've been so influencial to so many others.
"Fool in the rain" from their last album is so fun. To anyone listening to that: PLS! : Listen also to "Hope Road" by Anne Clark.
A perfect match!
Greetings from the far north of Germany.!
This was my first 8 Track. I got it for Christmas when I was 12.
The Heart version from the Kennedy Center will drive you to tears and you’ll love being there!!
Now listen to Ann and Nancy Wilson (of Heart) and their rendition of this song at the Kennedy Center Honors in which Led Zeppelin was honored. It's different, but incredible in its own right. And let us know what you think.
I have come to love the 1971 live version the best. This is my all time favorite rock song. Still.
"What's the name of this vocalist"? . . . . . HOLY SHIT! . . .
Please react to 'Dazed and confused', or 'I can't quit you babe', or 'Kashmir' or, or , or......................... too many to choose from! Great reaction, please keep them coming Maggie.
One account of how the band's name was chosen held that Keith Moon and Jon "the Ox" Entwistle, of The Who had suggested that a supergroup with Page and Beck would go down like a "lead balloon", it became Led Zeppelin instead of Lead Zeppelin because as you proved in the Child in time lyrics it was suggested that dropping the 'a' in lead, at the suggestion of their manager, Peter Grant, those unfamiliar with the term would pronounce it as "leed". The word "balloon" was replaced by "zeppelin", a word which, according to music journalist Keith Shadwick, brought "the perfect combination of heavy and light, combustibility and grace" to Page's mind. Page and Beck were in The Yardbirds before Page started Led Zeppelin and changed the name of the new band after Beck left. Eric Clapton was also in the Yardbirds at one point in time.
You should check out the live version from Madison Square Gardens in 1973, it is so good, it is John Paul Jones playing 3 recorders to get this sound, he plays bass, tenor and soprano recorders, on the live version he uses keyboards to get the same effect.
Try listening to "Since I’ve Been Loving You", "When the Levee Breaks", "Achilles Last Stand", "Kashimr", "You Shook Me", "Dazed and Confused"
Damn that song still sounds - and feels - good. It's such a joy to the ears, way too much music today is so overproduced and turbo-charged that it's not always pleasant to listen to. This, though, is like honey to my ears. Rock on!
I the 70s if you turned on the FM radio this would be playing on every station.
mother nature created planet earth and decided it needed a soundtrack .... so mother nature said to Led Zeppelin.... "go down to earth and spread the rock" ......... and Led Zeppelin did!
This song is still played as the last song at many a high school dance
They have a lot more great music. 🤘🤘Led Zeppelin is my favorite band rock band🤘🤘
Time for Little Roger and the Goosebumps - "Stairway to Heaven"
I loved your reaction to this! This was the first song I ever memorized as a kid :D Your reaction when it kicks up later in the song was perfect!
If you don't mind long songs... There is an amazing Rock Ballad "Rush - 2112" Highly recommend it as it takes you on a journey with a whole story!
This song was Not ever released as a single the radio of the time thought it to long, The flute noise is played on a mellotron
Jimmy had this two neck guitar made specifically for this song . . . . .
Verv expressive comments, thank you
If you like his voice, check out any of the songs on the two albums that he sang with Alison Krauss.. 2 iconic voices together
Love Them Legend❤
It would be interesting to see how you felt about led zeppelin performance at Madison Square garden in 1973. Hope you do it.
In My Time to Dying. Another great song, you will be blown away. Promise 😊
Perhaps it’s too obvious, but the structure of the song replicates a Stairway: stepping up each time in intensity and Plant’s register.
Want to hear Plant being more playful and exploratory check out Since I’ve been loving you live of course.
Another great 70’s band fronted by sisters is Heart. Please react to Magic Man live in 1976!
Putting Robert Plant as the 15th best rock vocalist is the equivalent of putting Michael Jordan as the 15th best basketball player ever. It's egregious!
I gotta see, who they think is better?!
If you enjoy Plant try Greta Van Fleet, Josh sounds just like him, Highway Tune
Listen to a song like "Immigrant Song" if you want to hear his higher register! Incredible vocals!!!
Should see this live at MSG in 1973!
Problem with the younger generations is they all think you have to have perfect pitch and tone and be a flawless singer, and with that mindset you end up with what you have today with all singers sounding almost identical. Give me old school, when each vocalist had pretty much their own thing going on. Plant, Jagger, Mercury, Lennon, Dylan, Morrison, Daltry the list goes on and on and they all sounded totally different to one another, and music was very much richer and more rewarding for it
It's the curse of autotune. They put it on everything.
I don't know, but I imagine that ranking you saw that had Robert Plant ranked so high as a singer was as much or more about the work he did after LZ. He has been prolific and just a shade outside any rock or pop classification. His work aith Alison Krauss, another phenomenal vocalist, has kept him touring in good sized venues.
his voice was strong from 1968-1972. by 1975 t was raspy but fit their album physical graffitti from 1975 perfect. by 1079 his voice was more clear after surgery, but more mellow. check out all my love from 1979
I've always thought that LOTR should have been done as a musical with music by Led Zeppilen.
Yep, Recorders!
So interesting to get your take on this classic. The guitar solo stands out to me. Vocals were OK. That song was played at a lot of parties back in the 70s. Thanks for your review!
Misty Mountain Hop, is the only Led Zep trak u can hear Bonzo's voice on, but you hafta listen closely. Four Stix, he played with 4 drumstix. You're just scratching the surface.
Please, please please do the 2012 Heart cover of this song with Jason Bonham at the Kennedy Snter Honors for Led Zeppelin!!!!
Amazing how you show some taekwondo or something high kick after saying you're a trained opera singer. More amazing video about one if my favorite songs of all time. Thanks.
For progressions listen to Bohemian Rapsody from Queen.
Still the greatest Rock song ever. Yes' "Roundabout" probably the second, "Good Vibrations" third?
Check out the live Madison square garden version
That instrument is called a recorder.
robert plant was the singer of led zep
"The Rain Song" from the Album: No Quarter feat Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, find the concert video. React to this song or " The "Battle Evermore" where he has an lady singer.
If you want to hear a genuinely amazing and underrated singer. Please check out John Farnham - Help (live version)
Robert Plat was awesome
Sing of an epic song. Why is it over now?????👊🏽⚡️
is this a repost? i have a feeling iv seen this vid before
When you here Bonzo's drumming, I think you'll know why.
That's John Paul Jone's organ
Jimmy Page who wrote it wanted to break one of the typical song writing rules that songs shouldn't speed up (significantly) as the progress.....either back and forth or slowing down at the end .... So you get a song that started slow and built up to a banger ........
Great reaction Maggie....! OK, now you absolutely MUST do their live version of Stairway circa 1973 at Madison Square Garden... It's Zep at their apex doing their magnum opus! Many believe it is better than the studio version. Plant has more flexibility and Page adds to the solo. Thx again and keep up the great work.
"Eyebrow army"
Emilia Clarke invented that army. And you will "bend the knee". 😁
How is it possible that you have not heard / reacted to Beth Hart. One of the greatest female blues singers EVER
That’s it????😃that was a lot.
you looked like janis joplin when you're rockin' ✌️✌️✌️...
Try Achille's Last Stand....
The live version is better. So much awesome more..
John paul jones used a wooden bass recorder
That was pretty good, eh?
