honestly out of all the electribe2 videos I've seen recently this is the only one that compLETEly blew me away !!!! FANtastic performance and composition
Hi Syncr, yer was all internal sounds. There is plenty of room to mess with with synth/osc sounds, but I must admit good pcm's are a little limited. Too many stabs and woot woot trap sounds makes is a bit of a pain. I don't particularly want to firmware swap/hack but it would be nice if korg would allow for swapping these out or customising our packs of pcm's. Would definately keep the units alive and fresh for longer. That said I really enjoy mine and have had tonnes of fun messing with it. I am also only just now after some months moving back to PC territory to do some more stuff combined with Ableton. Cheers and thanks for checking it out ;-)
it depends on your style. If you want to sample you might be better off with the S version or getting an MPC. I like this unit for downtempo ambient synth style beats.
I'm making and have made some of everything, and especially hip hop, but you have to be willing to take the time to edit the sounds to go together right. You can come up with some really unique stuff on here of you take the time. There are not phenomenal sounds to begin with, you have to shape and mold them to sound great. I have a couple beats on my channel if you want to check it out, and that's only out of all the beats. I have all the patterns filled and need to make sure I save them correctly before erase any of them. But yes, you can make some nice hip hop beats on here, if you can work with the less is more concept, which I love.
yeah, sim! this is really good! great atmosphere! i'll sub to hear some more! i'm still getting to know my e2 and make some similar vids over on my channel, but i've got a lot to do before i get such a clean sound as this!
+drouk22 Hi thanks for listening to it! I think it's about 10 and each set is very similar to the last. I spend a fair bit of time on the first track/pattern set, trying to get a nice loop going before I distribute it onto new tracks with modified parts.... if this makes sense.. Cheers.
+D'mo Sim thank you for the reply... i have the electribe too and I try all kinds of experience... ambiant style... a continuous sound and I transformed it...... gives amazing results, a fantastic machine! soon i will post my music :)
Nice atmosphere, cool track!

Nice track!

First class!
Nice sounds. All internal to the Electribe? Even the plucked upright bass? Pretty impressed by the variety I've seen generated by this kit.

This is really fresh. Would you consider the Electribe as a good tool to make hip hop beats or no?
