Mark is faking it as he hasnt told them he knows his wife Gemma is alive. He wanted back inside to help her escape. So hence he "begged" to get back in. So he's faking as he got most of the info he needed on the outside.
@@zooedca yes I noticed watching it again that he basically first ran to the wellness area to check on Ms. Casey/Gemma who he now knows is his wife, then after he saw nothing that could indicate she was there, he ran to MDR
There's a somewhat dirty joke Mark seems to make in episode one. I never caught it until yesterday, watching some guys react to Severance. Cobel tells Mark "you look hungover." And Mark then looks down. There's a "hung" joke in Blazing Saddles about the sheriff's anatomy..... It may be a stretch, but it seems that Mark does that. And I never caught Cobel saying Helena instead of Helly one time when she was talking to Natalie. I know that was deliberate, but an interesting hint, I guess.
