Wow Mac, there are a lot of bugs flying around. Almost think you might open your mouth to talk and one fly in. Hopefully the smoke from campfire will make them disappear. Nice camp, enjoyed your video.
First time watching one of your videos. Very nicely done. Earned my sub. You asked for suggestions, how about kebabs and flat bread? Another idea, a small chicken with a multi branched fork of a tree limb poke up the cavity, tied to a long string to a tripod . Have it dangling off set from the fire so that it gets radiant heat , twist up the string so that the bird spins like rotisserie. Can even use cuts of meat impaled onto of the main branch of the forked limb. The little branches would need trimmed to an inch or 2. All the best from Oklahoma USA
Thanks, thanks for the ideas the chicken would be amazing. I am ashamed to say I am just learning to cook but enjoying it so the chicken and the branched fork would make a good video. Take care and have fun.
Good looking setup there - the shelter looks great, very unobtrusive. Can’t beat a cook out chilli - curry next I think, (unless you can think of a way to harvest and cook midges!!!)
Lovely shelter mannie!!top notch video as usual, what is the make of axe you use?,im thinking its time for an axe,i like the look of the husqvarna camping axe.cheers.
Mac, that shelter looks great! It looks like something that nature has reclaimed. I bet it'll shed rain quite nicely. And that fire reflector will make wintertime overnighters much warmer. I've got to say you're starting to look like Dick Proenneke, the legend! Thanks for sharing and take care man.
This videos like is for something that actually goes against my preference for videos like these. At 7:59 ish. If it were me doing this (and it often is off camera) I'd stick to the "no commentary" policy. Though on this occasion, it happens that I am seeking some like minded locals for a bit of a community project and this video gets a big *like* because its good to know you are local.
Your channel looks really cool. Congrats. I saw that lots of videos have also cooking moments that look very tasty. I like also the quality of the videos. I am starting a community on reddit about outdoor cooking called "cooking on fire" and I would like to include your videos there. Can I use 30 sec of your videos to create short reddit trailers? I will credit you and add the links to the source youtube channel. Thank you and enjoy your outdoor experiences.
Sharp intake of breath as you started to use what looked initially like a 'plastic' ladle........ I might have known, it was in fact a shell spoon!!! Silly me. Still itching from watching those midges.
Hi Will...shelter looks like it belongs there!....Nice job...The meal looks great!...You made me hungry brother!...Shell spoon is cool!....Take care!

The first spoon I ever made was from coconut shell.

They were swarming for most of the day but I didn't have a lot of fire wood so couldn't start the fire till later but they didn't ruin the day 🦟
