I recommend you get the HP Pavilion Desktop as a starter PC, it's $600 and for the price it's a steal! I've had it for almost 2 years and it runs pretty much any game on medium-high settings with 60+ FPS
Hey Nick I saw that you used "HBAO+" ambient occlusion sadly that option isn't working at all for now only "SSAO" is working correctly, you can see the difference when I switch between "SSAO" and "HBAO+" on my part 1 (skip to minutes 3:55) apart from that awesome comparison as always 👌
Yeah I saw a few people post about this - you're right. Definitely some AO issues atm. Add that to the list of things that need attention for this one.
I have this game for PS4 and for PS5 so I'm not gonna be buying it again for pc. But again, yet another amazing port of a Playstation game. Hope Sony keeps pumping these ports out so everyone can enjoy these games.
@@MobikSaysStuff yes, emulation is fine. One of the perks of playing on PC. Finished BOTW on 4k 60fps. If you want official, we have monster hunter rise on Switch and PC. no other consoles.
Thanks man...but some of playstation fanboys are getting really mad. why these fanboys are getting mad over almost 5 years old exclusive ported on pc is beyond me. I guess some people are just imatured
The game really is amazing. Nothing quite like swinging around the city. Story and combat is great so far. Sony knew what they were doing when they acquired Nixxes.
pc has AO bugs and textures not loading in all the way bugs... look @4:04 take a look at the small book shelf to the right of Peter, you can see theres no AO in between the shelves, youre probably using HBAO+ which is completely broken, should use SSAO until they fix the problem.
Yeah that's what many are explaining , i don't know how digital foundry didn't mention this. Plus there are micro stutters every minute while traversing fast !
indoor reflections on things like the floor aren't ray-traced, they're hard baked. They're extremely predictible based on the very static and small environment, so it's a lot more performant and even looks better to hardbake them. I think that's why you're not observing this issue outdoors. I believe street water reflections work in a similar manner too, but obviously much lower fidelity as the reflection is supposed to be imperfect
Interesting to see! As someone that plays regularly on PS5 and PC, it's strange to see graphical inconsistencies with the PC port. It still looks great though! Nice video!
Yeah, I felt more impressed with the ps5 remaster than the pc. Actually disappointed with the pc, frame drops are more often so that you have to lower settings
It's because the PC has hardware features that the PS5 doesn't and it was the publisher who tried to implement those features into a game that just wasn't designed for those features. It would require a new set of code and many, many hours of testing to implement those features, if I understand 3D modelling correctly.
Congrats on your engagement! I've been enjoying your videos for a couple years now and I totally forgot you were a real person lol. You should def do a irl vlog or something so we can see ur life
In the early model comparisons, I clearly see a sharper image on the PC side of things, especially on the suit. Whether thats due to how you recorded the PC version, I dont know but its there.
alot of the long distance rendering actually depends on how much vram your gpu has, any setting i changed didnt change the low texture look of far away buildings
some graphics options are like that, texture quality is always like that in every game, effects vram not framerate, yet you see people only 8gb+ cards using low textures on competitive games despite it actually making it harder to play
This comes down to one thing, the game is optimized for the PS5, they spent years doing so and the PC port was a little sloppy. This is a new division with Sony and I am sure they will do better as they keep working on polish of future products. Even developing ports for the PC as they make the game for PS5 at the same time.
The PC port being sloppy and still performaing and looking that much better than the PS5, with overall quality of effects, kind of doesn't tell me the port was sloppy at all or the PS5 version wasn't as well optimized as you're saying OR the PS5 lacks actual compute power already. You can play the game without a dedicated GPU on a Ryzen 5800G. There's multiple videos on that CPU's IGPU alone. I don't know where the game is sloppy on PC having played it myself and exceeded the PS5's overally fidelity while also exceeding the performance. I personally think it's multiple issues.... the PS5 is severely already underpowered, the PC port was well made all around for PC, and the PS5 version is just not as optimized as you'd like to think when it cant handle even 8x antriscopic filtering. It's using 4x. Just to let that sink in.... the very barebones systems running the game with an integrated GPU can easily without any performance issues, top out the antriscopic filtering to x16. The PS5 not being able to do that tells us it's already at it's limit and they literally had to reel back that feature that costs almost nothing to most other computers. The CPU on the PS5 has always been a really anemic and sorry CPU. It's just been even with the rumors of it's existence before the ps5 came out. It's not going to get better for the ps5 unfortunately which is why I'm guessing sony is realizing it's best to put real man hours and money into the PC sector. It just makes more sense. MS knew this but I think sony had to give it one last go before they switched and all their new services point to just that....PC is where it's at and always has been.
@@pushpopLoC909 I wasn't where it was at for the Spider-Man 2 movie game. Though you can of course emulate that these days... The PC version was nothing like the console which was superior. ;)
@@damienlc8895 Ya, if a game looks only slightly better on a PC thats way more powerful, just means it has not been optimized, so yes sloppy. The PC division for Sony is new. So thats not shocking. We wont see the best results till we see games developed and optimized for PS and Pc from the ground up. If Sony is really invested in PC, we will also see these games keep getting updates so they take full advantage of PCs better hardwear.
@@nanfoodles You literally don't know what you're talking about at all LMAO. You're proving my point even further with that comment cause you've doubled down on that statement. If it's not optimized and yet an integrated GPU inside a CPU can run the game with some settings turned to max while the ps5 has low to medium equivalent on PC, then the ps5 is just horribly underpowered. I'm literally saying, because I know big words are hard, that it doesn't even take a powerful PC to run it. It takes a $300 PC to run the game at playable framerates and with some settings turned up due to the fact that the CPU is MILES better than the ps5's CPU. To simplify it further... the PC port was not bad at all when a PC like that can run the game. Computer Science 101. lol.
Dude! Nice comparison, i personally LOVE the pc version. 4k60 with raytraced reflections ist just marvelous. Pun fully intendend. The only hickup ive got is that occaisonally the fps dips below 60 but neither my GPU nor my CPU seem to be at full load, not sure why that is.

After playing I've noticed some more issues: Edit: I am playing at 1440P Max settings. 1. DLSS, FSR, IGTI all have awful ghosting. Very noticeable when swinging around. 2. Optimization is not that great. High CPU usage and low GPU usage. (50% on my 5950x and 70% on my RTX 3080) 3. Some button prompts disappear and require a reload of the save. 4. Crashing 5. Enemies stuck in walls 6. Glitchy ray tracing, incorrect reflections sometimes

@@fukzee also playing at 2k on a 240hz true gsync monitor. Motion blur is disabled. I am also playing with Max settings and ray tracing. I think ray tracing is the issue.
Dude that’s Nuts @5:11 in the video u started messing with ur settings there. When I was playing this segment myself for the first time I noticed it was off. However I thought it was just my hardware (running i7- 9700k and 3060 so I was surprised when you brought it up. Not saying I got the greatest hardware either.
Just upgraded to an RTX 2060 and am FLOORED by how smoothly the game runs. That said, I’m a 1080p gamer, but still! It’s nice to finally be able to play these top tier graphic games!
I'm also about to upgrade to the 2060 and was worried it wasn't gonna run as well, so, did you have ray tracing turned on and it ran fine? (I also don't care about 4k, my current monitor doesn't even run it)
@@turrurim It was pretty much a smooth 60fps experience at all times, no noticeable famedrops. Not to me at least. I don’t use ray tracing. But when I turned it on, I think it went down in FPS quite a bit, although I wasn’t sure if the exact number. Was definitely noticeable though. Maybe 40fps.
Absolutely having a blast with it right now on PC, I was quite surprised with how intuitive it is playing on M&K - originally worried it might not be optimised but glad I was proven wrong. My only issue is I keep back and forth between RTX on and off because I just can't decide if it's worth it yet. And for those who say 60fps is all a game like this ever needs, you clearly have never experienced going above even at least to 80fps to tell the difference in terms of smoothness and responsiveness. Playing a game like this in 120fps makes all the difference when it makes 60fps feel sluggish instead.
In a singleplayer game, id rather 4k 60fps over 1080p 120fps. Obviously it depends on the monitor you have. And of course, you'd need an rtx 3080 to get those frame rates.

I just want to say what I feel is the most impressive part about this port: I'm using a 7 year old Xeon processor and a GTX 1070ti. I've not been able to run any AAA games on 4k in years... my rig just isn't capable. Not only can I run this game on 4k, with High settings, but it retains 40-60 FPS 99% of the time. They ported this game so well it made my computer feel new again.
I mean, makes sense. This game was developed for the console originally. Trying to transfer it to a PC where all of the parts are completely different as opposed to consoles where they are all the same, we are bound to run into issues.
I honestly still prefer the PS5 Remaster, as I just find it more graphically consistent and less buggy. Also, I'm not ready to give up playing this on duelsense, but I'm sure most pc issues will be patched out in the following weeks, so I'm very happy with this port!
Had an absolute blast on PS5. All modes even the fidelity were incredible ! And now with the VRR , it runs well above 30FPS in that 4K fidelity option !

Remember back in the day where pc looked far better. Goes to show how far consoles have come. I have both a gaming pc and a ps5 and a ps5 is for sure the best place to play games. (Single player that is) they're optimized to look their best while on pc you tweak the setting and you bound to see visual inconsistencies
No, it only goes to show how devs aren't willing to push PC options for the sake of console parity. As a non-fixed platform, high end PCs will always be much stronger than consoles, it's on the devs to actually implement higher graphical options so that the hardware can take advantage of it, and to make sure that PC and console performance scales linearly when using the same presets.
Look how far consoles have come....or rather look how far PC has fallen. The reality is a high end PC has stupidly powerful performance but nothing is made with that in mind (like Crysis was back in the day).
@@omarcomming722 yeah I'm not saying that a console can rival a high end pc on power. Then again, considering the price of the ps5 its impressive what you get out of it

I got a PS5 month back and got this game bundled with Miles Morales at lower than half the price. One of the best purchases ever, doesn't bother me that it runs at 30 FPS on fidelity mode, Performance RT is good enough. If you want something that can match or beat The Ps5 or Series X gaming performance, Its really easy to do. Get a 3gb/s SSD , a ryzen 3700x cpu or newer and a Rtx 2070 graphics card. The ps5 is basically a 2019 mid range gaming PC without all the pc features. To note, Even when the ps5 first came out sony was Talking about its "Next gen " graphics performance. Its Ironic because "next gen" was something that pc gamers had already been using for the last several years. Anyone whos listened to sony fan video channels has probably heard tales of how 'game changing' sony's SSD is. unfortunatly if you compare the real world performance of that Drive People discover that The decompression technology is very rarely useful. The ssd's only true purpose seems to be giving technologicallly ignorant "sony super fans" something to talk about. They believe the ssd and its special features are providing performance gains. In reality, the ssd is just doing the same SSD thing that all ssd's do and really isnt all that impressive at all. Fanboys gotta fanboy though. IT IS cute to sit back and listen to people console war, talking up their favoriate plastic boxes while they talk up how "revolutionary" their chosen side is. Some day , both sony ponies and xbot's will realize, their little game boxes are BOTH just Pc's that have been Lobotomized by sony and microsoft .
PS5 still holds up quite strong for a console that’s 500 dollars compared to the multiple thousands a good pc would be to run this at comparable graphics or even much better
Consoles are suppose to be cheap. It's a good toy if you only care about is game. PC will always be more expensive at face value but is definitely worth the value than any consoles.
@@eytbits a toy? haha...clown what is a pc then lol. just admit your jealous and butthurt that you spent a fortune while only getting slightly better results. I buy gaming devices to game like most people.
2:37 the reason for that its cause PS5 uses a differente way to transfer data and decompresss assets of the game. The PS5 GPU have a direct connection to the SSD (direct storage) while the PC uses CPU to then use SSD and then RAM to use gpu
Um no.. your "almighty magic ssd" isnt alll that helpful here.. The game uses a maximum of about 200 megabytes per second of streaming data decompression. (incase you didnt know, That is NOT a large amount) No cpu made in the last 10 years would struggle to stream that much data. Though I know better than to expect you to actually listen to someone who knows more about this technology than you do. The fact is that Sony Very much OVER HYPED the ssd. There are people that LITERALLY think the ssd makes the frame rate higher. The truth is, The overhyped ssd gets you a fraction of a second loading time benefit. There may come a time in the future when Sony does something tricky with the ssd that IS actually impressive, But anyone who believes the Gross exagerations and leading statements Cerny made about the SSd , is incredibly Gulible. Its an interesting little piece of technology and there are some very rare niche use cases where it might come in handy..The SSD though, isnt really much of a 'game changer' . That being said, The i've heard that the reasons people buy consoles, is so they dont have to actually Learn anything about technology. They want a box that they can plug in and game. People treat learning about technology as though its difficult. Because they dont have time to cultivate an understanding they just chose to believe the people selling them things. Such as Mark Cerny when he tells the fans that its "Super amazing and provides performance the likes that has ever seen anywhere before!" Maybe someday people will realize that BOTH the xbox series x, and ps5 when it really comes down it it are really nothing more than custom plastic boxes that house Ryzen based PC's with Amd based graphics. The consoles perform like a high end gaming pc from 2018 Except that unlike the pc, You cant chose what software or games to run on it, even though it has the technical capability. because no one wants to actually OWN their own gaming device, Microsoft and Sony have generously offered to tell you what software you are permitted to run on something you 'own'. Thankfully sony and microsoft thought ahead to protect all of us from having access to run what programs we want to on their boxes. If they hadnt, we'd actually be able to easily SEE that their marketing BS is BS. Whew! Back to the PS5! Like Cerny says, "Its so powerful No PC could EVER hope to match it's speed. (he's right, No pc could match it, They are all too fast to match it and end up doubling or trippling the speed.)
I don’t know. I definitely prefer the ps5 version cause I have a razor blade 15 advanced but no matter what’s settings I have it at it constantly stutters and has an annoying shimmering effect over all edges
Yeah awesome game. The PS5 and PC versions very similar. However, you do need high end PC to get PS5 levels or better, and at 3 times the price of PS5.
You need a high end to get to the ps5 level….Need to know where you get this at £1500 😂. No pal a high end pc is 10x the power of any console and cost minimum £3000 upto £5000 if you want high spec everything. Probably find is is just a normal mediocre pc and is probably far high resolution than the PS, however you won’t see this due to poor video quality. Most PlayStation AAA games are 1440 upscaled to 1800ish and achieve 30fps or 60 if reduced to 1080p upscaled. With a pc we generally use dlss if you have rtx and can be used. So you get 1440 upscaled to what looks like native 4K, max everything, path tracing when game support, max retracing and all the bells and whistles with 200+ fps with regen. Phenomenal to say the least.
@colinbrydon7659 So your problem is that I said high end? This was over a year ago, and I was pointing out that, at the time, a system costing £1500 was needed to get similar results. That's all.
@@phoenix___7747 Even a year ago the top hardware was the same. Nothing much has changed apart from marginally quicker cpu’s. Optimisation might be relevant with consoles but not so much on a great spec PC. So I am going on the assumption it’s still relevant now.
@@colinbrydon7659 I wasn't talking about the absolute top end. When I wrote this, a system running on anything less than a 3070 was having trouble with this particular game.
If you are doing Miles Morales, try to use Nvidia Freestyle, the game as well as this one, have MASSIVE performance issues and HUUUUUGE frame drops BUT using Reshade setting itself has no effect on performance. Nvidia freestyle/overlay will HARD RESET the PC in the intro section of Miles Morales (when he exits the station) just by having the overlay open.
It's holding its own on a game that's a last generation PlayStation exclusive. I'm not dissing the ps5 but one game designed for a ps4 isn't a great sample size.
@@adamm784 after ps5 pro you'll be stuck again with an outdated hardware while PC keeps advancing each yr. Pc gamers can "wait" no matter how long. we have tons of games to play and can even use it for other things if we want to.
anyone experiencing audio bug same as me? sometimes in the mission, the SFX becoming unaudible and the voice dialogue becoming high pitched like a chipmunk, really need help to fix that for better experience
The game only looks good using TAA because it has a built-in sharpening filter that's way too extreme, so using DLSS makes everything look stupidly over sharpened. It's not even DLSS sharpening which can be removed through Nvidia's SDK, it's just forced on all the time and TAA balances it out through its blurring. Many buildings textures are not loading as well which I can't remember being the case even on PS4, and the game has poor frame pacing from what I'm seeing playing it at 4k with a 3080/5600x, even worse when RT is enabled. People are overhyping the quality of the port.
After seeing how well god of war was of a port to pc and now this game, I feel very confident in saying that miles morales will be just as good of a port and I am very much looking forward to playing it.
The higher res on PC really brings out all the detail much better than ps5 imo. Texture res can be identical but rendering at 4k vs 1440p, those same texture would look much better. Due to drs and lower native res, ps5 image tends to have shivers around the edges that can be noticable. I also hope that hbao can be fixed, ssao is fine but lacks some of the refinement of higher quality ao. The other difference I found was DLSS making the picture but cleaner as it usually tends to do due to far superior AA, same for fsr2.0 but fsr2.0 still needs some work on ghosting.
Yeah that would be cool. I bought the ultimate edition of miles morales or whatever it’s called so it’s basically like buy one get one free. It was pretty cheap on eBay like $20. I would love a physical copy though
Yep I cranked tf out on rtx side on my 3060 laptop and same results as you , when u move the camera sometimes the reflection it's flickering idkkk , it need some optimizations too but the game itself looks super dope on ultra and I'm happy that I have 40-55 fps on ultra , not bad considering that it's a laptop but my ram and CPU it's maxed out , 16gb of ram it's not really the sweet spot in this new released games
Spiderman needs a patch, as for now turning on RT causes full load on all processor cores, while limiting GPU usage. Try to turn RT off and on and compare thread load. Therefore DLSS cannot help much, game needs an optimization fix. Besides, game is quite good, but by no means unique - especially in terms of graphics.
My computer couldn’t handle the absolute god tier graphics this masterpiece of a game has so I had to put it on low mode and even then it still looks absolutely fantastic
It's a game made from the ground up on playstation hardware, it sould be expected. Pc ports are good but a big chunk of the time they lack optimization. Which is why I go for the console version 👍
I will only comment on the audio side since I'm equipped to do so with a custom home theater comprising of 7.6.4 speakers setup. The PS5 version uses Sony's proprietary tempest 3D audio (fancy name for real time object based audio mixing), that in its own already sounds better on the PS5's maximum (at least for now?) speaker output capability of 7.1 channels than the PC's 5.1 channel based audio mix that is matrixed to 7.1 if you enable the corresponding speaker output in Windows. In English, this means that audio cues for sound effects, voices and layered BGM is much more separated within the speakers and yet form as a single coherent track just like what you'd experience in a Dolby Atmos/DTS:X movie (done right of course). The PC version in comparison due to its use of the traditional channel based mix (since the game doesn't support Dolby Atmos either), everything just sounds... flat. Yes you do get the surround effects panning around you and thankfully, voices still sound clear and defined including people that talk behind you - but the PS5's version simply makes everything sound more direct, really as if you're there in the middle of NYC. P.S - unlike a few Sony exclusives recently (God of War...), thankfully the PC version retains the LFE (low end) from the PS5 version. The game still go downs to 30hz and has a shelf filter after that.
Very insightful and yea Sony always comes up with these names for their proprietary stuff. I have pretty good audio on my motherboard but mostly use a headset and a set of Edifier speakers on my desk. No 7.1 surround unfortunately haha
The fact that the much much cheaper PS5 is on par with PC gaming is a great sign of unity and that the console wars are coming to an end. Also I can’t wait to see what the fans can do with this game and how they change things inside the game.
Lmao it’s not on par with PC. It’s just a ps5 port. Not only that but 30fps for high fidelity while PC gamers can easily hit 60+ in true 4K. Only thing that’s happening is developers focus on consoles and port over that game with no additional PC benefits. But then again not everyone owns a high end PC so it doesn’t make sense to cater to them.
@@Nick930 my issue is it’s more of a ps5 port. And yes I know not everyone can afford a high end PC but it’s from personal experience and I can afford a high end rig. I mean if consoles are on par with PC I’d love for them to open up Microsoft word on their consoles lol

It looks like the ray traced reflections on PC have a cap on their refresh rate. Might be a bug, or it could explain how performant they are.

I was specifically waiting for your video on this port. I can always trust your comparison videos
indoor reflections on things like the floor aren't ray-traced, they're hard baked.
Man I still love the Arkham Games like they just released. They are best to me.

MS knew this but I think sony had to give it one last go before they switched and all their new services point to just that....PC is where it's at and always has been.
sloppy?

And for those who say 60fps is all a game like this ever needs, you clearly have never experienced going above even at least to 80fps to tell the difference in terms of smoothness and responsiveness. Playing a game like this in 120fps makes all the difference when it makes 60fps feel sluggish instead.

yeah cant wait for direct storage released on windows or linux
Um no.. your "almighty magic ssd" isnt alll that helpful here..

Does the lighting is Raytraced too ? Or is just for the reflection ?
just reflections, no Rt lighting in this
Honestly rn ps5 is holding up good it can do fidelity mode at 40 fps feels so much better than 30
40fps? what year is is xD
@@fourohsevenfishing why those the year matter alot of people on PC also play 30 fps everyone has a great graphics card
@@fourohsevenfishing I'm saying 40 feels a whole lot better than 30
@@JesManVP i've never met anyone in my life who plays pc at 30fps unless the game is just locked to it or their computer is a potato
@@JesManVP 60 to me feels sluggish nowadays
Sony: There will be 8k 120fps gaming on our latest console.
Reality: 1080p and 55fps, or 4k and 25fps. You choose.
PC will always be the superior one
Hi which GPU did you use? I want same GPU
After seeing how well god of war was of a port to pc and now this game, I feel very confident in saying that miles morales will be just as good of a port and I am very much looking forward to playing it.
4:32 that's not a glitch. It's a Tweaker. New York has a ton of them. That makes the PC version more accurate to the real life city.
PC is just sooooooooo smooth!
PS5 runs 100FPS with vrr
I see what you did here😉
The higher res on PC really brings out all the detail much better than ps5 imo.
Hope one day a physical version of Marvel's spiderman remastered comes out.
Load times ?
PS5 has faster loading
Ps5 is slightly faster even after installing on an m.2 drive.
But the difference is really small. Not that big a deal either way
@@Nick930 still think it deserves a mention.
@@jack_knife-1478 It deserves a mention but it takes literally like 3 seconds to load off a gen 3 nvme ssd which is how Im playing it.
Would you take a look at Starfield's gameplay trailer versus Fallout 4 or the newest version of Skyrim?
Spiderman needs a patch, as for now turning on RT causes full load on all processor cores, while limiting GPU usage. Try to turn RT off and on and compare thread load. Therefore DLSS cannot help much, game needs an optimization fix.
Besides, game is quite good, but by no means unique - especially in terms of graphics.
RT requires more cpu more geometry to calculate
My computer couldn’t handle the absolute god tier graphics this masterpiece of a game has so I had to put it on low mode and even then it still looks absolutely fantastic
PIZZA TIME!
Eat your green vegetables
Glad more people can enjoy this experience 🙌 Enjoy!
Ps5 wins !
how about mouse and keyboard support? is it tollerable?
"It's odd PlayStation is providing better results than the pc " the salt lmao
it will get fixed
The fact that the much much cheaper PS5 is
on par with PC gaming is a great sign of unity and that the console wars are coming to an end.
@@nikobelic5064 "Lmao" 💀
@@nikobelic5064 not all pcs can't run 4k. You have to remember all pcs are the same my ps5 runs much better and cheaper than most pcs in the market.
@@nikobelic5064 I wouldn't say PC is "easily" hitting 60fps at 4k. My 3090 and 10900k here is doing it but it's just barely holding 60fps
@@Nick930 my issue is it’s more of a ps5 port. And yes I know not everyone can afford a high end PC but it’s from personal experience and I can afford a high end rig. I mean if consoles are on par with PC I’d love for them to open up Microsoft word on their consoles lol
something i noticed is in cutscenes it looks like the texture on playermodels slightly move/distort ? no idea why. on pc btw
all and all negligible
Not necessarily a bad thing. The game already looks phenomenal
@@Nick930 No it's not. But the PC master race always wants a little pizazz😁
It looks marginally better on PC, definitely more fluid. I'm just happy it plays so well on the Steam Deck

the game has generally brightness - vignette-and shadow problem if you guys have good eyes to see it
