Geez, I've had this problem for six years now and have had three new injector harnesses installed and still code 61 pops into memory. With this info, I'm gonna pop my valve cover and check those solenoids. Then if it still codes, then I'll know it's the ECM. I've had Detroit Diesel S-60 engines since they came out in 1989 and I didn't know half of what I learned in your 5 video's tonight. DDC treats this info like an ancient Chinese secret forcing us to pay thousands to repair our trucks.
Thanks James, I hope this information ends up being practical to you. Traces inside the ecm can fail just as sure as the wires in your injector harness. There is more profit in the repair industry when techs throw high margin parts at a problem instead of doing proper diagnostics. I find that professionals in this industry who try to hide what they know are actually trying to hide how much they don't know. I'll be adding more videos soon.
I am having an injector response time code followed with a check engine light. This is the second set of Detroit reman injectors that I have purchased as well as a new injector harness. Can you suggest some software I might buy to be able to diagnose my detroit 12.7 ddec 5 I believe. Truck is a kenworth with a 7 pin obd port
Yup Took me a while to figure out i had an injector problem In my cat. But thats a good thing. I was able to get home and repair it there. Detroit on the other hand once there is something with injector truck will run very raugh or not run at all.
We have a 1997 Detroit 60 series it has been in framed 2 times trying to correct white smoke on startup. You can idle the engine until the cows come home and it still has white smoke. Run the truck down the road light load and the smoke clears up. That is the only drivability complaint we have. It has had all the hard parts thrown at it you can imagine but still has that problem. To me it seems like the ECM thinks its at sea level but its at 3500 ft. We could use some help.
Hi friend. good morning. Could you give me a pulse generator diagram for common rail piezo electric and inductive coil injectors? thank you very much in advance and excellent channel !! I'm going to share it to the video
