    Thanks for the ride along. Someone said; money can’t buy happiness but it can buy a trapping license and that’s pretty close.

    I sure didn't think about you all checking the sets again that soon, but it was definitely worth the effort.
    I would think, another good thing about documenting your beaver trapping on video, is when you contact/approach new landowners. If they have questions or concerns you can refer them to the videos so they can see the great job you both do with trapping these pest!
    I had a short video pop up this week and I forget where it was in the states, but this beaver had decided to start taking down power poles. I had never seen such a thing and the utility worker shooting the video said the same. A farmer had finally caught one working on a pole and had put him down.
    Thanks again for letting us tag along! I will send an oxygen tank for the truck, so when you two get back ya can get juiced back up! All the pro athletes are doing it!🤠💪

    You do need to try some of the tall H stands. I use them and love them on the deeper runs. The short H stands dont buy you will lose them. Plus on the shallow runs sticks are better I think. The tall H stands will save you a lot of time to. I use a long stick to feel out the run, Find a side hold the stick there than run the H stand right down the side of the stick. Still put cross stick on top of the ice wired to the top of the H stand. Some guys don't and will lose trap and stand .

    What's your ratio of castor to mineral oil to to gland oil if you don't mind me asking? Thanks!

    • @outofthewoodyard
      @outofthewoodyard  4 місяці тому

      Good question! About 1/1 at the most and 1oil 2 castor at the least. We have some very old castor that is rock hard and requires more oil. It is more of a look and feel thing not so much a recipe???

    I watch another trapping channel and they use a plastic sled to haul out the beaver they trap, a deep bucket sled

      Yup, we don't need more stuff to haul around all day. The straps work well.

    Bit o knowledge drowning sets or when you said let him suck some suds! Beaver never drown out will never find water in their lungs as you would all other mammals. Beaver suffocate they will not take a breath underwater.Most people do not know this useless trivia.

    • @outofthewoodyard
      @outofthewoodyard  4 місяці тому

      If they have been knocked it the head they will suck water.

    • @mikewhitman745
      @mikewhitman745 4 місяці тому

      Huh, when I hang a beaver up to dry before skinning I'll have some water coming out the nose half the time.
      If that's not water from the lungs what is it?

      Morning. Yup, all of my videos are 2-6 weeks out from the shooting date. A video every day takes a lot of time to shoot edit uploads and get to youtube. Not over night...I also have 2 channels and 3 businesses to work and run.
