I think healer as a whole needs a buff. At the moment it’s a doubles specific ability which is quite poor in doubles. I think it should be guaranteed removal of a status condition from an ally at the end of the turn, like how hydration works (in rain). In singles, its stats and typing are what let it down. Either a defensive stat boost, a significant attack boost, or the fairy typing would help it massively.

@@V-Jes Bad reasoning given Pokemon like Mewtwo, Blaziken, Gengar, Tyranitar, and the like had them as early as XY. Megas were hardly about boosting weak Pokemon as much as they were about giving whatever was marketable a reason to be merchandised again and throwing the occasional bone to weak Pokemon
@@captainmarsh3664 Mewtwo and Blaziken both were not that good in Ubers or VGC (when legendarys are allowed) while Tyranitar lost it's infinite sand storm ability, so yes those were still about buffing older Pokémon even if many of them were obviously on marketable Pokémon too, not to mention even if you ignore those who were already Uber or OU when they got Mega's in XY, they still gave Mega forms to like 15-20 Pokémon who were not strong or good at all overall.
@@V-Jes Mewtwo and Blaziken are still far, FAR better than most Pokemon were or ever will be, they should've been disqualified from getting a Mega by default and instead should've had their stats/movepool/abilities tweaked in order to give them an edge if GF really cared about what was going to be viable after the fact. Mewtwo getting two especially was completely unnecessary (unless, of course, they just wanted to give the cool and totally awesome and super popular Legendary special treatment that other Pokemon would've appreciated far more, but Game Freak would never do that right???). Tyranitar, even without infinite Sandstorm proved itself to be a premier Pokemon, to the point where it's mega had spotty viability in terms of just using the already good base form and saving the Mega slot for something else. If you want to get on the subject of those hurt most by the weather changes, Abomasnow was a good choice, but Pokemon that were worse than Tyranitar even with infinite weather like Politoed and Ninetales came out with jack squat. A decent amount of Pokemon that were "bad" got Megas, but there were far too many given to Pokemon what were both already plenty strong enough and were decently popular for it to even be sensible to surmise that GF wasn't playing obvious favorites. Even worse when a bad Pokemon gets a Mega that doesn't help patch it's core issues, or just outright isn't worth running when there are other, stronger Megas, oftentimes given to already stronger Pokemon too, that they had to compete with. Even if you want to make the claim that it helped weaker Pokemon more than it helped well off ones, the well off ones getting some defeated the point at all just by virtue of Megas' flat 100 BST boost being well suited for Pokemon with naturally high BSTs already (though, again, there were definite success stories, like Mawile and Sableye). The entire concept was the epitome of great concept, botched execution-all because GF couldn't balance their way out of a paper bag and can't resist giving their special little babies something or other so they don't miss out.
I think Mega Audino could be such a good Pokemon with a better ability. I personally believe the Simple ability would be a perfect fit, since it learns Simple Beam naturally.
Audino was already a favorite of mine before I wound up doing a White 2 Nuzlocke years ago where it was essentially my ace pokemon. I'll never forget how it was me using Ice Beam that I learned that the frozen status can be extremely busted considering I froze Iris's Aggron for 11 turns and it essentially fainted via chip damage thus winning me the Nuzlocke. Thanks Audino.
mienshap is definitely not mediocre, it was in NU and got through all the tiers up to UU really fast, people just don't realize all the good things it has
@@jupardo yeah, but compared to the absolute monster its pre evolution is, it is. Mienfoo is the strongest pokemon in LC by far. I want to know why stuff like regenerator/ reckless makes it so strong, but Mienshao is not common in OU
Finally! I was beginning to think Audino would never get its day in the sun! It's a shame that it never truly got to be the "next Chansey", and that the Mega form was slapped with such a useless ability like Healer. I wish we could've seen how a Regenerator Mega Audino would've fared in the metagame. Maybe it would've been OU. Audino became one of my favourite Pokemon after I gave it a chance in a BW playthrough. Thank you, Patreons!
I remember running Mega Audino a lot on Smogon with Wish+Protect, and it was fun to mess with people with it. Doubly so if you run Calm Mind and Dazzling Gleam. (I pretty much ran Wish, Heal Bell, Calm Mind, and Dazzling Gleam) People have told me a lot that Mega Kangaskhan was great, and while it was, it has one flaw, which is burn. Literally burn that thing and its' ability which was good, becomes literally useless, since Burn halves your physical damage, and Parental Bond only does half of the moves' BP. For Example, Power-Up Punch, which would have a 40 BP, It gets halved to 20, and again halved because burn, so 10. While having +1 Attack after Kanga's first turn, it's not gonna do much in the long run. Not to add that you lose 1/16th of your HP every turn, and Kanga has no recovery moves except for Drain Punch, which before it even gets useful because of that Physical cut from Burn, Mega Kanga is already six feet under hours ago.
Audino is one of the most underrated things in natdex, since she can stall two turns of dynamax almost every time, and switch with Regenerator to be able to come back later
Tbh I love how it looks as a Mega, but it was cursed by having the weird "support Mega" slot usually, when most Megas are geared for an all out attack. Offensive M-Audino is hilarity tho, you come in expecting a passive mon only to get smacked by a Fire Blast
I will always be pissed they didn't just give it Regen. It's one of my fav mons cause it's so cute, but getting an unexpected mega for it, only for it to be given the infinitely worse ability with no way to change it just felt spiteful. Like somebody hands you a hundred dollar bill wrapped around their turd.
Wow. Pretty crazy that I'm doing a Pokemon Black Nuzlock right now and (due to circumstances) Audino has basically become my partner/ace/right-hand pokemon due to its bulk and regenerator keeping it alive and then this video pops up. Glad to know that this pokemon did well in the competitive scene
Audino honestly just needs a good old fashioned evolution, preferably one that keeps the half-fairy typing of its old mega. Not only would this hopefully give it the boost it needs to get into higher tiers, but it would allow Audino itself to hold Eviolite, which would really help it do its job in the lower tiers.
I feel like audino is realy made for doubles. Currently abusing it with calyrex. Basicly audino would keep ally switching till calyrex (shadow btw) got off 2 nasty plots. There forward just keep spamming astral barrage and youve woulde probs one shot everything. Audino will also keep using heal pulse and heal bell just incase calyrex gets low or get a status condition. Heres their stuff: Audino: Held item: sitrus berry Moves: Heal pulse Heal bell Protect Ally switch (Note: put its EVs on hp and defense) Calyrex-Shadow: Held item: focus sash Moves: Astral barrage Nasty plot Protect Aromatherapy (incase audino dies and you get a status condition) (Note: put its EVs on speed and speacial attack)
God Mega-Audino was so polarizing whenever I faced it. Either it was literally and utterly useless in the matchup, or it was basically able to solo my entire team.
Addendum: Audino is a good Pokemon in the BW PU metagame, where it is a fine defensive pivot. Audino has also had a number of stints in ZU this generation, where it is generally a good support Pokemon as usual. It seems unlikely to fall again this gen, so shoutout to Audino for always being a B+ Pokemon in PU every generation.
So the comment about VGC players grinding on Audino and a VGC player hatching a shiny Audino makes me wonder: How many VGC players actually go through the grind of raising a full VGC team for competition events as opposed to using “other” methods to expedite the process? And to what extent would such methods be used? Just for turning pokes shiny or ironing out IV spreads or just skipping the whole training process entirely? I recall Nintendo has tools for detecting these kind of hacks during events but I can’t imagine they work as well as they need to. Just curious what the general sentiment is in this regard.
I remember having such an intense hatred for this particular Pokémon during Gen 5. They were good exp farms, but they were so annoying to fight! First, they use attract All the time. So if your Pokémon was the opposite sex, you were screwed. Second, Secret Power(anybody remember that move?). It looks like it gets needle arm when it uses the move. But for some reason, it’s needle arm has a chance to put your Pokémon to sleep! I’m not kidding, I looked it up, and needle arm wasn’t supposed to be able to do that, and I don’t remember anybody bringing it up. So with those to factors, it could take me an HOUR to try and beat ONE Audino if everything went wrong. I was so close to throwing my DS at the wall many times from frustration. Good times.
For the past 2 weeks, I've been hoping to see an Audino video made by you. Finally the time came now that I've made Audino my new favorite. especially her shiny
I actually managed to catch a shiny Audino in Pokemon Black. It was my 2nd full-odds shiny. My first was Red-Striped Basculin. (For the record, I caught both of them in the post-game.)
Dude it's the 134592649201th time you appear here at false swipe gaming telling me that something has finally arrived, but I won't click that link, as you're certainly not an audino and not as reliable as koichi hirose.
I remember watching Mr1upz’s video ranking all the cross-gen evolutions and distinctly remember him talking about Lickilicki and saying “Back in the day, Lickitung was apparently grilled for being a poor man’s Snorlax… but how are you gonna evolve into something that just becomes a poor man’s Audino?”
The problem with Audino if you battle on Showdown is that Game Freak designed it as "Chansey, but with Wish". Chansey normally cannot learn it... with one exception; the New York City Pokemon Center gave away Chansey eggs with Wish for 2 weeks in 2004. Smogon's policy is that all Pokemon importable into the current gen are legal, and the nature of a battle simulator means that all of the rarest Pokemon and sets are at your fingertips. This left Audino without much of a niche in Smogon's metagames.
I haven't been a around for a minute so to see him still carrying on with this good content is heartwarming. Also, mega Audino should've just been her evolution. Like Audivino or something.
Ah yes, Audino. This Pokemon is basically a poor trainer's Chansey. My most standout memory with Audino (barring being an EXP pinata) is the one who trains you in Pokepark 2. Does anyone remember that game?
If you buffed it's bulk by around 15 points each stat I think we'd be looking at one of the best walls in the series, I think it could be fun to see a special attacking Audino too, maybe give it 110 Sp.Atk and see how well it could do, Audino's always felt like it's one move or mechanic away from hurtling up the tiers and I'd like to see it

The entire concept was the epitome of great concept, botched execution-all because GF couldn't balance their way out of a paper bag and can't resist giving their special little babies something or other so they don't miss out.
imagine mega audino keeping regenerator, i feel like that wouldve helped quite alot
I unironically ADORE Audino, and its Mega is a strong contender for my favorite (alongside Mawile and possibly someone else).
Same. They are both some of the cutest megas out there!
cute pokemon for the win 😋
I think Mega Audino could be such a good Pokemon with a better ability. I personally believe the Simple ability would be a perfect fit, since it learns Simple Beam naturally.
R.I.P and a big salute to all the Audinos that fainted to give my Pokémon a lot of XP.
Man, Audino has always been a personal favorite and I thought it was absolute crap competitively. Glad to see/hear that was a wrong assumption.
You should do Mienfoo for Little Cup.
It is arguably the best pokemon in LC, despite its evolution being mediocre
mienshap is definitely not mediocre, it was in NU and got through all the tiers up to UU really fast, people just don't realize all the good things it has
Mienshao actually got banned from UU in swsh iirc. Shao is actually quite good, people just tend to overlook it
@@jupardo yeah, but compared to the absolute monster its pre evolution is, it is.
Mienfoo is the strongest pokemon in LC by far. I want to know why stuff like regenerator/ reckless makes it so strong, but Mienshao is not common in OU
i love using mienshao, it warms my heart to see mienfoo kill other babies
Mediocre? Have you done any research or are you just here to spread lies to let something look good?
Well that’s why for a buff just give mega Audino regenerator or if mega’s aren’t coming back ever again then just give Audino it’s mega stats
I remember running Mega Audino a lot on Smogon with Wish+Protect, and it was fun to mess with people with it. Doubly so if you run Calm Mind and Dazzling Gleam. (I pretty much ran Wish, Heal Bell, Calm Mind, and Dazzling Gleam)
People have told me a lot that Mega Kangaskhan was great, and while it was, it has one flaw, which is burn.
Even if Audino isn't the best Pokemon out there for battling, it will always be my favorite Pokemon.
finally, I was waiting for this one, always thought it was weird that a pink blob mon was bad
Well wigglytuff has always been bad
@@daphenomenalz4100 Except for that time it won a tournament by exploiting Competitive
Musharna isn't anything _amazing,_ you know.
The way gen five needed PU and gen seven needed ZU
Audino honestly just needs a good old fashioned evolution, preferably one that keeps the half-fairy typing of its old mega. Not only would this hopefully give it the boost it needs to get into higher tiers, but it would allow Audino itself to hold Eviolite, which would really help it do its job in the lower tiers.
This video yeided tones of experience.
More unova pokemon needed megas
I hate jokes therefore i hate you
I feel like audino is realy made for doubles.
Heres their stuff:
Audino:
Held item: sitrus berry
Moves:
Heal pulse
Heal bell
Protect
Ally switch
(Note: put its EVs on hp and defense)
Calyrex-Shadow:
Held item: focus sash
Moves:
Astral barrage
Nasty plot
Protect
Aromatherapy (incase audino dies and you get a status condition)
(Note: put its EVs on speed and speacial attack)
3:40 I had to watch that footage again because I thought the Hammer Arm was from Conkeldurr
“Resistless Normal type”
*Angry ghost sounds*
6:25 love how audino is like "❤️❤️❤️❤️here, take this❤️❤️❤️❤️" and proceeds to fireblast the mega abomasnow.
is it weird this is one of my favorite pokemon? It’s like the aesthetically pleasing chansey
Chansey's main purpose in life is to catch strays in UA-cam comments.
God Mega-Audino was so polarizing whenever I faced it. Either it was literally and utterly useless in the matchup, or it was basically able to solo my entire team.
I was interested in Audino analysis. This was one of my favorite pokemon in Unova. Its cool to see it RegenWish and supporting team
2 vids in a week is actually insane with this production quality
Addendum: Audino is a good Pokemon in the BW PU metagame, where it is a fine defensive pivot. Audino has also had a number of stints in ZU this generation, where it is generally a good support Pokemon as usual. It seems unlikely to fall again this gen, so shoutout to Audino for always being a B+ Pokemon in PU every generation.
Surprisingly good run from a pokemon that was specifically designed for one purpose: to be easy for the player to kill for lots of experience.
Don’t forget mega Audino outright WON the world championships for the Pokémon trading card game in 2016 iirc.
Mega Audino is what happens when the doctor has enough of your BS and switches from the Hippocratic Oath to the Hippocratic Suggestion.
YES!!! MY FAVOURITE POKEMON!!! been waiting for years for this!
Defensive mega audino: Marcus Antonius in Parthia.
Offensive mega audino: Caesar in any province.
Ah, poor man’s Chansey.
Also, holy crap! That video length!
Here comes the Pokemon that gives people PTSD when they look at a patch of tall grass.
One of my favorite designs
I was kind of disappointed that Audino is the only gen 5 mon that got a mega
Yeah. I don't get it. As much as I hate the idea of Mega, having only one Gen. 5 Pokemon to have Mega isn't enough.
Man a Normal Fairy type with Regenerator would be a nice way to put Dragapult in it's place.
Indeedee is better
Most episodes: this pokemon has a strong niche over its competition
Lickilicky and Audino: this Pokémon is much worse than its competitor
Mega Audino is the world's best Dragapult counter.
15:17 poor alexander/alexandre, i dont know which one is correct and neither did the people keeping track of these things.
"Fairies are weak to steel types"
Fairies: 0:43
I loved using mega audino in gen 7 UU. It wasn’t particularly good but it put in work
I actually managed to catch a shiny Audino in Pokemon Black. It was my 2nd full-odds shiny. My first was Red-Striped Basculin.
(For the record, I caught both of them in the post-game.)
Finally! VGC coverage!
Where’ve you been, Zane?!
Great analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
Stop punching audinos, they're so kind that they didn't reveal their full stat spread to preserve every single mega rayquaza's feelings

Ah yes, the exp candy personified.
Ah yes, the only Gen 5 Pokemon to get a Mega Evolution. Not surprised at all to see Gary Qian in this video; he's so creative with his teambuilding
The only Gen 5 Pokémon to ever get a mega evolution for some reason.
Marketing and merchandising for the fairy types. Pretty cool design also.
@@Labyrinth6000 also an apology for all those Audino you beat up for experience. XD
Ah yes, Audino. This Pokemon is basically a poor trainer's Chansey.
My most standout memory with Audino (barring being an EXP pinata) is the one who trains you in Pokepark 2. Does anyone remember that game?
Yes! That was my first Pokemon game and I remember her. I think she trained you in HP
@@agentblackbird9435 Correct. Audino was basically the "cool big sister" character in that game.
Video no.3 of Waiting for rotom and all its forms.
No matter how much it takes, I'll wait.
Great vid guys :)
ah yes, the runner up to the Mega Evolution Battle Royale
Audino did win a world's once... in the TCG, but that's still something!
If you buffed it's bulk by around 15 points each stat I think we'd be looking at one of the best walls in the series, I think it could be fun to see a special attacking Audino too, maybe give it 110 Sp.Atk and see how well it could do, Audino's always felt like it's one move or mechanic away from hurtling up the tiers and I'd like to see it
“Yeah we get it. Hello Nurse!” (Sylveon 2022) 😂😂😂
Thanks for the new vid False Swipe 💙🐱💙
Audino, best known for EXP farming and being the worst mega Pokemon. If it still had Regenerator in its Mega form, its niche would have been better.
Still, Mega Audino is imo an amazing design
bad battle wise though yes
Radical Red has Mega Audino with Regenerator and it's crazy
@@internetguy7319 It does, yes. But good job for hacks adding stuff that Pokémon should have had imo
Really love the fact that the Tapu FIni was called Aqours lmao
Can we have a moment of silence for all the Audinos that were slaughtered in gen 5 so we could get exp....
I expected this joke to be worked in somehow in the video:
narrator: "Is this pokemon good?"
Audino: "I dunno?"
"How good was Audino actually?"
uh, well... audino
OK the gen 5 VGC joke was really good
Support is so important 🙌
You have no idea how happy I am that you pronounced its name right
