I just followed the links from one of my favorite local shops in Fayetteville WV, Lost Appalachia Trading Co. to your instagram and then, this wonderful film. It brought smiles and tears and chuckles too. It’s a wonderful accomplishment and I’ll be sharing it with my hiking group. Thank you for taking the time to make this film…for keeping it real. It touched my heart on several levels, not the least of which is being able to share that kind of experience with your sister- something I can only dream about. Treasure God’s gifts of nature and each other always ~ ❤
This was absolutely beautiful. I am the second of 4 sisters and have lost #1 and #3 in 2.5 years time. #4 and I have always been the closest like you and Clara and we love all the same things. Only she lives in Georgia and I live in Texas. She lost her husband 1 month after our #3 sister died. So your film meant a great deal to me and I am determined that we will (Lord willing) have a trip together. Thank you.
How nice it is. I wish to experience this one day being outside of a city. What the two of you are doing is really nice. It’s a great experience two sisters bonding with each other alone out of nowhere. That’s what I love most….being close to each other. The closeness you have is remarkable.
Heading to Colorado in 2 weeks for the remaining weeks of summer and you guys have inspired me to “Hike Slow.” It is quite a challenge to slow down and SEE, but I will do my best and will be thinking of you both!
Ugh my heart is filled this morning!!!! Thank you for that beauty. Both of your work literally fill my soul. Thanks for always being yourself and sharing your view of the world. ♥️♥️
Happy to have found this and it’s so well produced. You can feel the thoughtfulness and I’m so surprised y’all have a smaller amount of subs for how well this came across. So pure 💛💛
The slowing down and "seeing" has been a deep journey for me; I so look forward to watching and hearing of your experiences. It's so cool that you're doing it as sisters as well.
I found you because a friend showed me a beer label that had a zebra swallowtail on it. I am working on restoring the zebra swallowtail back to Pittsburgh and a very important part of that is covering many areas slower than some of my friends want to go. I am thinking specifically of floating down the Youghiogheny documenting pawpaws as I went with someone who normally runs marathons, and then having to paddle quickly to catch up! Later on I met some botanists who love going slow. I have been able to learn so much more when with slower companions and also by returning to the same area again and again. If you are curious, I did make a video that explains what I am doing. I’m not a cinematographer but I try to make things clear and hopefully compelling because this butterfly, and of course pawpaws, used to be very common in many areas in the east that were highly industrialized. ua-cam.com/video/tmdIittg88k/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for all the sweet comments and messages about our first collaborative sister film! Y'all are the best.
So much fun...what talented sisters!
I love the idea of using the plant shadows to paint!
I am so moved and inspired by this. Playful, loving, reverent, irreverent, it has it all. Thank you.
This was so lovely.
Beautiful film! Thanks for taking us along for the trip.

I always feel so alive when I return home from a hike❤️
So happy to get to see your film.
Just what I needed today. So many truths here. Subtle, quiet and yet roars with life. thank you both.
Got the notification for the premier haha 👍 awesome trip gang, great shots/audio/writing/sisters
This is a love letter to the wilderness
That was really enjoyable! Hiking in Mother Nature really opens your eyes to all the little things that we usually overlook to see the big things!

Awesome work ~ as always! Thank you for sharing your adventure and reminding us all to slow down and appreciate all nature has to offer! :-)
I’m looking forward to this ! I love nothing more than hiking with my sketch book kit in my back pack 😃
Oh, same! So much to see & sketch, no matter where you are. :)
Been a minute since I zoomed in on some poop on the side of a trail! Nice job!

Hi from Roanoke Virginia!
Thank you for sharing an intimate (and entertaining) look into the bond of sisterhood. This was so fun to watch!
Loved it and the glimpse into your time out there! Well done, gals! 💜
Wonderful video :)
Excellent job girls! Thank you

I look forward to watching this!
Sounds lovely! Can't wait to watch :)
Yay!
So did you see bears? Great film! When’s the next one? Maybe after your Appalachian trek?
Life experiences are better with sisters....or best friends. Sometimes the same in one.
Here to see your awesomeness.
Follow your curiosity......
My goal is never to hike far, but to see far on my hikes….know what i mean:)?
Ah I totally resonate with that mindset!
Being a creative is hard work! 🙄 No matter what your medium!
If I can’t watch this live, will it be available afterwards?
Yes, it will be! :)
