50 years I’ve played with LEGO, and I have want to go see where it’s made since I got my very first kit. Thank you so much for posting that video. I may not have been there but I now feel like I have. Thank you.
I got all teary eyed when you showed what you believe to be your first ever lego set, as I think it was the first ever I got too. Thanks for the video!
Beautifully made video. I could spot some sets of my childhood which i still have. The old sets vault got tears in my eyes. Very happy to see this video. 😊
+Sariel's LEGO® Workshop please make a review of the Lego Technic 8285 (Tow Truck) it's a classic Technic set right and also you are reviewing classic lego set's so it's a great idea right
Absolutely beautiful video, thank you so much! I love Lego even more as an adult than I do as a kid. I like how Lego shows their knock-off competitors, reminds me how Lego pieces hold up after 30+ years and hours of play. The Lego boxes my dad bought me as a kid still fit with all the Lego sets I buy for my kids. I even managed to rebuild completely the Galaxy Explorer and Galaxy Commander from their original parts (in a box with thousands of mixed pieces and sets so it took several days).
ok silly question, but how is the ABS painted there? Does LEGO already buy their ABS in the definitive colours? I saw the part of the colour palettes and didn't really understand that part
so LEGO already buys its ABS in the colours they want from their providers? Thank you for taking the time to answer these (probably pretty stupid) questions
This is such an outstandingly awesome video. You got to see firsthand some rare sights that few get to. You definitely deserve the trip, and I like how you summed up the travel to and from. I need to visit Billund one of these days. Must have been very satisfying getting to see the museum part; and I had no idea that the LEGO Group had vaults of every set ever produced in mint condition. That is astounding. I tried to look up Fan Media Day to find out more about it, but info was scarce. Is Fan Media Day an annual event, or is it held every few months, possibly in different locations? And once again, great job on the video. Congratulations!
oh man, seeing the box of the first ever lego Technic set I got when I was a kid (8808) and the first box which I bought from my own allowance money (8829) brings back a lot of memories.
sariel I hope your experience was as great as mine. I got to do an amazing trip with my father back in 2010. It was so cool to see how Lego is made and how the whole company does there production. I would definitely do this trip again if it were presented to me.

thx:),also im thinking about some badass lego part like mini metal bolt-action barrel for 9mm ammo, what do you think about that?(sorry bad english,im from vietnam:( )
Just very minor things like axles, wires, conductive train tracks, and train wheels, nothing with studs really. Lego pieces rely on the soft plastic so that the pieces can clutch together. With metal it would quickly wear down so that the pieces do not fit tightly anymore. They would also possibly do some damage to the plastic pieces. If you attach 2 clear or transparent bricks together you'll notice that they're a lot more difficult to get apart, different materials act differently.
I've been wanting to visit there since I was 5, that's 11 years, hopefully it will happen one day! Did you get to see any functions of the bucket wheel excavator, it looked huge! Nice video, maybe you could've ended it with some more peaceful music, but I guess that's not your style :)
Ever since I was 9 years old I have dreamed of being an engineer of some kind and then when I retire I would just become a lego designer or something, I am now 17 and have gotten the opportunity start college early. I am now on the fast track to programing, building, and designing industrial robots! Maybe I will build robots for LEGO and in turn be able to join them as a company! That is my end goal in life. Being a part of the company!
Super video but I can't stick through how many ads there are!! Not even two minutes in there was an ad break, and I see there's about 15 more in the video. What's up with that!
I thought about that too. For the prices charged for Lego kits they could at least give local people jobs rather than giving work to robotics designers in Japan! That big square blue thing looked quite cool but I'm pretty sure a human could walk twice as fast and not take 5 minutes to put one tray down and pick another up. lol
I wouldn’t mind going through the roof and snatch a few bins from the giant warehouse. I never would have though that the mold would be like huge 300 pound blocks of metal just to yield like 30 little bricks that probably don’t even weigh 500 grams total. Also wonder how much one of those mint vintage LEGO sets would cost now days...wouldn’t mind getting one of those to showcase.
Nice. Houndreths of moulding machines. It is interesting that they have pretty low rate per machine. Maybe plastic they use need slow cooling to make sure quality and differential cooling is not a problem (otherwise dimensions would be off or a design of a mould would be super complex). I am actually surprised that they allowed filming some of the stuff.
Awesome footage.. and the commentary at bottom of screen... very clever.. witty.. got me laughing several times... love your sense of humor... : > Great Video !!

I've always dreamed of going to Legoland since I was 11. but I haven't been there still. maybe I get enough of money and time to go there some day. it must have been awesome for you :D I also wonder when will the Lego excavator or whatever at 16:34 be released or is it already released?
None of you have any idea how happy this makes me...
Who else thinks that Lego should just start making all their kits again forever?
Me and make bionicle again
*41999* *FTW*
If Lego made sets from the 80's and 90's again i'd be poor lol
Yess the buggy motors need to return they are much too rare
Awesome! I'd love to see the machines used to turn bins of pieces into bagged sets.
Do you think the big robots in the factory bully the EV3 in the warehouse when the lights are out.

The lights are never out in such places.

Seeing the Lego movie sets in the vault made me kind of sad. That was my favorite line.
Other than technic of course
+K West hmm, interesting, I've never thought how it would be having my favourite line technic. (my favourite is DC)
Well, the vault preserves these sets for the future in mint condition: every set since 1949. That way the future does not forget them.
I got all teary eyed when you showed what you believe to be your first ever lego set, as I think it was the first ever I got too. Thanks for the video!

Once in a lifetime opportunity ! Thanks for sharing the visit to Lego. Really cool.
~watches with greedy eyes~ I think I need to start planning a heist. Any chance you accidentally took some imagery of the security system? ^^
Now that I think of that, there wasn't any system I could see. I guess if you misbehave they just leave you alone with the robots.

Speaking of the Millennium Falcon, LEGO actually came over and built a HUGE one right in a nearby mall. Took them about 4 weeks to complete it.

Very few. There is a metal hook in some old crane sets, for instance.

so become a robot programmer

But then you will have robots that will repair the repair robots
