Most hunting channels have young bucks climbing the hills with ease. Watching you stick with it at your own pace, gives people our age the inspiration to keep hunting.. congrats
This is one of the best hunting videos I've ever watched. It gave the feeling of the solitude of the experience, the struggle came through yet so did Jim's optimism. When I realized Marcus was doing the river in a kayak - it was a wow moment. Great video, the drone footage was an exceptional touch.
I love that fist pump 🔥💯💪🏽 I do the same thing. Working very hard to be successful and when it comes together the body and mind have no choice but to react 💯💚💥🏕️
The cinemetography was excellent and really captured the sense of remoteness. Jim's sense of humor and humility are a bonus for sure. I was wondering "how is one (or two?) people going to clean and carry out hundreds of pounds of meat? ", when all of a sudden all these folks showed up out of nowhere :-). Amazing. I never knew there was a such thing as a "wood bison", let alone in Alaska.
I have followed the stories of natives who they hunt and eat this magnificent animal. This short documentary is beautiful wish part of this exciting journey .❤ Pakistan.
What a dream of a hunt. Although, I gotta say I'd rather have watched you do that with your old Hawken! Congrats! That's one hunt that very few will ever be able to say they did.
Wonderful 3 Part Series. I've known Jim since 1984 and you won't find a more talented, smart, and down-to-earth dude. Great sense of humor too! (FYI. "Ya-ta-hey" in Navajo essentially means "It is good.") Congrats Jim...
Nice shot on the run, and a good follow up. I try to limit my running offhand shots now but there was a time as a mountain hunter you took all you could get; I still appreciate a fella who knows how to make it count. Well done!
I can only imagine, after watching these 3 videos what you guys been through. It was great. Wish I could have been there. Im speechless to what that Bison tasted on that open fire . OMG. Great video guys. Thanks a bunch. Richard in Ohio.
Incredible. What an adventure. It’s hard for us to imagine ever doing something like this and yet it felt like I was a part of the crew. Jim is a cool dude. Great work Marcus
Congrats Jim on a beautiful animal. Perseverance pays off...well done. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Great job Marcus! Can't wait to see what's next.
Where I live the bison season opens in September and runs through the winter until mid March. Imanage to get one most winters. I wait until everything is frozen and there is lots of snow before going after them though. One of my favourite hunts and the best tasting game. Congrats on your bull.
Congratulations Tim. Right by the boat on the river as requested. Fantastic. I think to myself how lucky Marcus is to go on so many hunts wether hunting or filming. I’m positive this isn’t lost on him it’s just awesome to see and think about it I guess. Another great film. 👍👍
The best part is it’s for work, so he’s likely being paid along with not having to pay for the trip. I’d do nothing but hunt if that was an option for me lol
Well that was a damn good series. You guys did a great job of capturing the depth of the hunt ! The whole herd on the side of the river after the bull had already been harvested was a perfect moment. That bull looked huge in that group . Congratulations on an awesome animal .
Hola amigo,se me aparecio su video y me llamo la atencion el cataraft, pero me quede con el video y disfrute las 3 episodios.......ya estoy suscrito ......que tengas el mejor de las aventuras
Appreciate it! For our Day by Day episodes, we try our best to make you feel like you're on the hunt. Adding in the ambient sounds of the river, the rain, walking through the muck, etc... really add to that experience. The hunt being in beautiful Alaska was the cherry on top!!
Awesome hunt. You still had a few days after the kill before the plane trip back. What steps did you take in order to make sure the meat did not spoil by the time you got back to civilization?
Can anyone tell my what the name of the rifle cover "rain cover" is called and where I might find one? I think it would work great for muzzleloader hunting in the rain.
Yes we did. We boned it on the spot. Alaska law requires that the meat of the front shoulder, rear ham, and ribs stat naturally attached to the bone. We took the tongue, heart, and kidney as well. Thank you for watching.
It can. Better clothes, cameras, maps, and gear helps especially when in rugged terrain; the numbers of game aren't like what they were when the settlers showed, and it sure helps to be outfitted right
Ain't that some poop, you bust a-- for 9 or 10 days, finally chase down a bull, shoot it, and then the next day you see a whole herd! Anyway, congratulations, great videos ☆
Hunting big game in Alaska what makes butchering a breeze is this battery powered reciprocating saws. These saws make extreme fast work of moose or any big animal. I hunt buy myself and use a large jet boat to hunt Alaska rivers. I also have in the jet boat a deer cart 2 wheeled game carrier and have a Lewis chainsaw winch and winch on the front of the jet boat all the winches are used to snake moose to the shore for clean water used in butchering. Was this the Copper river ?

Wait a minute. I'm his age. We've just stopped rushing into things. More effective!
We’re young bucks yet aren’t we? My brain says so. It’s other parts that question my endeavors. Never give up. Barth and I are both 65.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Marcus' cinematography was absolutely perfect -- great job!
except that it sounds like they put a microphone between buddies legs there and every time he walks his swishy pants ruin the sound lol
Outsatnding filming and picture quality! Alohas from Maui!
Such a beautiful place.
Thanks for watching!
This has been an awesome hunt. Always love having Jim on hunts.
Thank you.
@@drjimbaichtalloved your muzzleloading stuff as well, super jealous
Your attitude won the hunt, especially fighting the elements, your age shows your experience, beautiful.

Great watch gentlemen, good work!
Well... that's a new bucket list hunt I'll have to add to the savings plan. Incredible story!
I love the Yatahey yell! That 180 E tip sure did the trick. What an epic adventure.
Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. Congrats on a fine Bison.
Had us worried there for a second..Congratulations are in order!

I admire your dedication and stamina for an 80 ish year old.
Jim is the man!
Congrats on a great bull! And from one of only a couple free ranging herds in the U.S. Not some canned ranch hunt.
Amen brother well said.
What a hunt. Thanks for taking us on the journey with you!!!!
Heck yeah, congratulations!
so awesome! love to see that excitement from downing an animal is still there even after a lifetime of hunting. congrats on an incredible bison!

Loved the hunt. Great job everyone. Didn't like how the video closed out. Needed a wrap up.
What a phenominal adventure and lesson in perseverance. Congratulations on a great bull, fantastic meat and safe adventure.
Congrats Jim !
Thanks for an enjoyable hunt. Question, could your group only harvest one. You showed a herd after your harvest.
I am the only one with a tag.
Awesome stuff! 👌
Congratulations!
Awesome hunt. You still had a few days after the kill before the plane trip back. What steps did you take in order to make sure the meat did not spoil by the time you got back to civilization?
We kept it dry and suspended over the water about 18 inches with a reflective tarp on top. Then we got it into cold storage ASAP upon returning.
@@drjimbaichtal Thank you very much for the quick reply. I sincerely appreciate it.
Good show thanks
Congrats to Jim!!! He's agreat man and its awesome to see him succeed.
Day 12 came before Day 11....magic !!!! LOL

Guy's congrats on a great hunt and that was a pretty dang good running shot there ! I can only dream of how that backstrap tastes !!!!!!!
My all time favorite red meat.
This guy is a freaking classic! haha
Congratulations. Such an epic hunt.
Good video
Knew once Jim found em, one was going home!
What a shot
This dude is a fucking assassin. One chance in 10 days on a running bison with log jams in the way? No problem.
Did you not take all the animal?
Yes we did. We boned it on the spot. Alaska law requires that the meat of the front shoulder, rear ham, and ribs stat naturally attached to the bone. We took the tongue, heart, and kidney as well. Thank you for watching.
What a great hunt. Isn’t it always the way you see very little then you shoot what you can then you see a whack load. Lol.
man that nosler put him down didn't it??
Darn right!
Wow, congratulations
Im curious as to how much a bison tag is? I’d love to hunt one of those in the near future!
What a great hunt & series of videos! But don’t you feel a wee bit guilty for shooting him so close to the boat??? :-)
This is good
What is the cost for an outfitter in Alaska?
Had no idea there were bison in Alaska
Didn’t realize hunting required so much gear
It can. Better clothes, cameras, maps, and gear helps especially when in rugged terrain; the numbers of game aren't like what they were when the settlers showed, and it sure helps to be outfitted right
Where in Alaska is this?
In frount of little Egypt mt. On the south fork.
Hmmn. I would have liked a look at his hooves, but good hunt

Break it's spine then finish it off? I don't really see how those were great shots at all. Awesome video aside from that
Some rugged country for sure guys. Some good eating for a few weeks too. Nice
As long as i had a fat sack of mean green i could handle the crazy wet world!
Для чого вбили?

Why you cilling them

You could have brought horses, theres more fun riding on the hunt.
Congrats on a great hunt you one lucky person to have killed such an amazing animal
