Thank you so much for supporting my channel!
Some things I learned from succulents: they insist on keeping on living even in the harshest condition, they can uproot and regrow themselves even after people think they are not worth saving, and they thrive in hardship where most plants fail.

Succulents are my heroes!
That is an awesome observation! 👍👍 So true! We all can learn a good lesson on resilience and perseverance from them. 🌈 Thank you for sharing your precious message. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

all it takes......
This is so true, Josephine! Thank you so much for your comments. I highly appreciate them. ❤️❤️
I recommend buying and fixing succulents on sale. They are cheap, and help one learn more about succulents. And it's so nice to watch a dying become healthy again.
NOTE: The very bad dying succulents are placed on sale for as little as $0.50.
Wow! That’s some bargain! Thank you so much for this tip! Awesome idea! ❤️☺️🌈
And you're also essentially saving a life that way as well.
That is so true! This is such an awesome idea! Thank you so much again! ❤️😃
What stores put them on sale?
In the US Lowe's and rarely Wal-Mart put succulents on sale.
I just gave birth to my 20 succulents this week. So happy to have them😍 unfortunately, 5 of them are in the ICU because it gets overwatered by the rain, hoping I could still save them with all the ideas I get from this video. 😍
Aldren Lincuna wow! 20 in your first week? Any updates?

@@SucculentFame Thank you for your lovely wishes. I apologize if you thought I commented to steal your audience. I make videos about Karate, not gardening 😅. But, when it comes to my garden succulents, your channel is my favorite. Also, the little words of motivation you add in your videos, I feel them resonate with me when I meditate or train. Keep up the good work and stay blessed, joyful and healthy. 😇✌️
I don’t mind at all. No need to apologize. I’m more than happy to see other channels grow. 😊 We all need to help each other, specially in these times.
@Succulent Fame
Hello do you need to wait for the succulent to callous for 2-3 days and then replant or replant straight away?
Nice video! And thanks for pointing out the importance of a moisture meter! They are NOT expensive, and a great help in assessing the plants’ needs.
That is so true, Patricia. My moisture meter and me are twins. I can’t live without it. Thank you for leaving this comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
@@SucculentFame I have a dying succulent and I am getting this moisture meter asap!

Its not often that i watch a UA-cam video with quote for encouragement. Keep it up! :)
Hi Monde, thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. Are you Filipino or Hispanic? More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
Filipino fr Manila, kabayan :) i tried to rescue a succulent last week from a bouquet and i think i have revived it. Binabad ko lang sa tubig, tinutubuan n ng ugat. Planting has been one of the new activity i introduced to my preschooler daugter and she is enjoying it so far. 😀
Monde Bernal Ay wow, kabayan! Awesome job with saving the succulent! Pwede mo sya hayaan dyan sa water. Just change out the water mga once a week or every two weeks. Minsan nga nakakalimutan ko palitan ang water, okay pa din sila. Hindi kailangan ilipat sa soil, pero you can always do that. You’re doing an awesome job with introducing your daughter to planting and gardening. Para hindi sila palagi sa phone. Parang lahat ng bata, puro sa phone na lang nakatingin e. Thanks again for the messages. I really appreciate it talaga. Sending you and your family tons of blessings! ❤️🙏🌈
Wish I would have known these tips before I lost a few plants a while back..gives me hope for future plants.thanks for sharing
Hi Debbie! You’re welcome! I’m glad this video helped. Hi! Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 😅Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
I’m so glad I came across this video! I live in Kansas and still new to succulents. My problem is overwatering. And also proper sunlight and warmth. At least I believe those last two are an issue. It may just be over watering
Hi, Clarissa! I think it’s due to too frequent watering. They do love to get lots of water when it’s time for them to drink, but intervals has to be really long except in the summer (about weekly or every 8 to 9 days). In fact, from Fall to Spring, I would only water every 3 weeks to even once a month (up to one and a half month interval even, in the winter). Thank you for leaving your message. I really appreciate it. Happy Planting and blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈
I’m a person on a mission! Not only to grow healthy succulents, but to helps others grow
Wow! I love your mission statement! That is awesome! Kudos to you! Thank you so much for the nice comment! I really appreciate it! Wishing you the best in all your endeavors! Have a wonderful, blessed New Year! ❤️🙏💫
I can't believe I'm here researching succulent care but here I am. Glad I found this vid!! Thanks, OP!
Hi Michael! Thank you for watching! I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
You know what makes it more sad for me when I notice one of my plants are dying and then they die? I actually talk to them and treat them like another being, and I even name them. I've got 1 plant named Momo, and it is very healthy so far, but my sister was also given a plant and I noticed she had not been taking care of it. Then the plant started to become brown and I felt so bad for it I just took it from her room when she wasn't looking and took care of it myself. The succulent is still brown and it's almost like it is dying. I want to help it but even this video can't help me 😭
Edit: plant that I believe is dying I name Boa. Pls pray for Boa 🙏
Hi there! I’m so sorry to hear that Boa is dying. I wonder if she has been getting watered far too often or if she wasn’t getting watered at all. Would you know? Maybe we can still save her. The way to save Boa is to determine whether she has been underwatered or overwatered. I’m so glad Momo is doing well. I treat my plants like my pets, too. I think they sense our emotions, that’s why I always strive to be happy around them. They are living beings after all. I really hope you’ll be able to save Boa. I’m still thankful that you are trying to save her. Thank you for sharing your story. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings! ❤️🙏💫
@@SucculentFame tysm! I do believe that my sister when she owned Boa she did give her water once a week but never gave her enough, but then when I owned Boa and started to notice that she may be dying I got scared (pretty much what you explained in the video that happened to people when they get scared) and watered Boa more then just once a week.

Im so sad that I never looked up videos on how to save a dying succulent! My mom bought me a beautiful arrangement and they all ended up shriveling up and dying, who knew i could have saved them :(

Thank you for this very helpful and informative video. I was given a small arrangement with about 10 sick succulents in it and I'm going to try my best to hopefully save them! Also you have a very soothing and relaxing voice, you should try doing a few ASMR videos on your channel sometime. You would probably be pretty good at it.
I sure hope that you’ll be able to save them. ASMR? That’s an awesome compliment. I’m actually creating another channel about lifestyle improvement and I’ll be announcing it in this channel real soon. Not exactly ASMR, but quite close. 😁 I sure would love to hear your thoughts on that new channel once it’s out. Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
They never die, if they are dying I just cut them off and and put them back to soil and they are good again 😂
That is soooo true, Simon. 👌 Early detection is the key. You are definitely on the right track. The resurrect back. 🤣😆 They spring back up all the time. Thank you for leaving this comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

Hi! The moisture meter should be at the lowest. So mine should show one before I water. Or halfway between one and two ‘cause sometimes the needle doesn’t go down as low even if the soil is super dry. It depends on the moisture meter. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
great info thanks
Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late response. I’ve been so busy. 😅 Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hello, you have a new subby, I enjoyed your video, very informative. On this video your moisture meter was showing on 3 in the dry section, is this a recommended reading to keep my succulents at after each sprinkling water at the base of the trunk at 3 dry , and please how much water and how often would you suggest for very young healthy plants about 10 centimeters tall? i'm off to watch more of your video"s. Have a nice day.
Hi Trevor, 3 on the moisture meter means that there is still moisture. I wait til I get a reading of one before watering. I know that they have enough water to drink if reading is already at 6 to 10. So, when it’s time to water, the soil needs to be really wet. Thank you so much for subscribing. I really appreciate that you subscribed and took the time to leave this comment. Happy Planting! ❤️☺️🌈
Very useful information thank you
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment. 😃 I’m so glad you found it helpful. 🙏 Thank you so much again.
I came here only to check out something about succulents, but now I am a person on a mission.
Hi! 😁 That is so nice to hear! I’m so glad to hear that it has inspired you in some other way. Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate it. More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
I have small white things like a ball of webbing on my echeveria, do you know what it might be and what to do? They are sticky.
I’m not an expert, but I think 70% alcohol can still kill whatever is forming those. If they don’t seem to affect your succulents, it might not be worth killing. If they seem to cause deformed leaves on your succulents, then you might not have any choice. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
You cut the healthy part of the succulent and repotted -- what did you do with the stem part that was left in the soil? Did they grow to be healthy?
Hello! Most of the time, when they turn mushy like that, the stump is already dead, but I still leave it planted in the soil to give it a chance to recover. Chances are it won’t, but I still try. 😅 Thank you for the comment. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Can you do this cutting and re-rooting technique with an indoor aloe? I have a 13" tall (many years old) aloe that just started drooping at it's base one day and I dearly want to save it. I'm not sure when the rotting started but it clearly reached a literal tipping point and I just want to set it on the path to regrow again. Any experienced guidance would be appreciated!
It might not work on an aloe that has already started drooping. Although I’m no expert. I only share what has worked for me. I hope you were able to save it. Thank you for the comment. I have just started responding to all of them. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hello sheila , I am beginner and I have a succulent which leaves became thin, wrinkles and fall down even without touching them . Please advise me how to sabe this succulent . I live in Europe and our houses are heated during winter. All my succulents are indoor , please advise me how I can take of them during winter in heated house.
Many thanks for your answer
Hi Fouzia, I highly suggest for you to space out your watering. Maybe once every two to 3 weeks. When it’s time to water, make sure that the soil gets a good soaking through and through. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about two to three months behind right now. 😔😅 I’m hoping to catch up real soon. Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Thank you for this wonderful video! I will be more careful now!
Hi! Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you love, health and blessings always! ❤️🙏💫
I absolutely love your videos. Can you advice me on this - I have a non drainage glass jar , I plan to have at the bottom a layer of pebbles , then sand then succulent soil and on the top the actual plant . Is this a good idea.
Do you have a video I can see ?
Plz respond
Hi Nadia, growing succulents in containers without drainage holes can be very tricky. Although it can be done, I still wouldn’t recommend it, even if you plan to put pebbles at the bottom. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Thankyou. Succulents are so hard to judge, I have little problem with my Cactus. nearly all are with succulents. Also birds love to eat bits of them too 😔
Yes. They’re supposed to be low maintenance and drought tolerant, but they got a bit complicated because of the soil and containers that they come in. My apologies for the late response. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Beautiful plants I wish to have it
Hi Mhel! Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you love, health and blessings always! ❤️🙏💫
Wish I saw this earlier 😭 now I'm doing everything I can to save the last leaf!
I’m so sorry to hear that! 😥 I hope you’ll still be able to propagate the leaves. My apologies for the late response. Was busy preparing for my family’s 4th of July week trip. Thank you so much for sharing your little story. I really appreciate it. I hope the leaves will pull through. Blessings to you. ❤️🌈
@@SucculentFame thank you for your sweet words, sadly it's really the last leaf of a cutting I got from a wedding, my ignorant ass killed it with over watering, at least now I know what to do better ❤
Thank you for the motivation
You’re welcome and thank you so much for leaving this comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
What can you do if the succulents are overwatered and falling apart? Is there anything that can be done at that point?
Hi there! It might not be too late. Take it out of the pot. Try to remove some (not all) of the soil around the roots. Just shake it off once, don’t rub it off. Let the soil and roots air dry for now. What’s the temperature like out there. If it’s super warm, you may replant it after 5 days. Don’t water it after replanting. ☝️water it only after 5 days after repotting. So, your succulent won’t be watered for 10 days total. It is better off without water right now. It will recover faster. I really hope it’s not too late. 🤞My apologies for the late response. I appreciate your comment and patience that I’m not able to respond promptly. 😅🙏Thank you so much again! ❤️☺️🌈
@@SucculentFame Hi! How does the moisture thing works? What number shows if It is over watered or underwatered?
Hi! It detects moisture through the metal tip and rod. It will not tell you if it is overwatered or underwatered. It is just used to check whether it is time to water or not and if you have watered well enough. It should read 1 meaning that the soil is dry. When it is time to water, it should read at least 6 to 10. A reading of 6 to 10 does not mean it is overwatered. It just means the soil is soaked enough. That is the right wetness that you need to achieve WHEN IT IS TIME to water. I hope I was able to explain it well. My apologies for the late response. Thank you! ❤️😃🌈
DESPERATELY waiting for your answer!
Hello Sheila, Can you please help me with the best chemical Pesticide for succulents. I have tried the Neem Oil+Soap solution. But that does not help and i see the infestation passing onto my other succulents as well.
I started sticking to 70% alcohol. Try not to worry as much ‘cause based on my experience, they only stay temporarily. Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️
Hey, I have a Wolly rose succulent and this is my first succulent … i water it weekly just enough to keep the soil moist. I tried to take care of it but one by one all its leaves withered out. Now I only have the stem that is mostly brown but a little green at the end. It doesn’t have a rotten smell … what can I do to save it?
Hello! I think watering it weekly is not a good idea. It only need to be watered when the soil is already dry. When it’s time to water, the soil needs to be soaking wet. Thank you for the question. I hope you were able to save your succulent. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
All my succulents die not sure what I'm doing wrong! Need some help can you share the best tips to care for them on 98 to 102. This weather makes me believe they need more water but I'll try again with this new one will water it once a week! The ones I have on my front yard are used to sun exposure I believe and water them every single morning.
Hello Alexa, I’m so sorry to hear that. What kind of soil are you using? I’m starting to believe that the main issue with all the confusion about watering is fast-draining soil. In fact, I’ve been using just regular dirt now, ‘cause it retains water when it’s time to water them. Once a week actually works in those temperatures, as long as your soil is retaining enough water. I’ve been planning to make a video about how fast draining soil seems to be the culprit with over and underwatering. I just havent found the time yet. If you’re using fast draining soil, water your succulents for 3 consecutive days then wait 5 to 7 days before watering again. This is on hot weathers. Thank you for the question. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫 💫
@@SucculentFame on my front yard is regular dirt, the one I had tried with fast draining soil are kept indoors and nothing seems to work. I set this new one on my backyard in a pot with regular soil.
Hi Alexa, please make sure that when it’s time to water, that your soil gets super wet. Then give them a dry spell after. So make sure you give them enough break from watering after that good, heavy watering. Maybe a week of break before watering again.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
You’re welcome, Dee! And thank you so much for leaving a message. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! My apologies for the late response. Was busy preparing for my family’s 4th of July week trip. ❤️😊🌈
I have a gollum and all the leaves have fallen off. All that is left is the main stem. What do you think? Trying to propagate the leaves as well as save the stem. But my leaves mostly just turn black and die.
Hi Jamie, in cooler months, dont even mist them. Avoid watering them for 3 to 4 weeks, too, but when it’s time to water them, please make sure the soil is really soaking wet. I hope you were able to save your gollum. I love gollums. I have one that is growing like a bonsai plant. 😊 Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. @@SucculentFame your good girl. I finally figured that out. I was misting and not deep watering. So I bought a new one and when it starts to look wrinkly I deep water. Then leave it alone. It's growing yay me. Thanks girl!
So i have 2 succulents that i think that are dying, 1st has thick leaves and the 2nd has a leafy body.
The 1st leaves are slowly falling off and i dont really know how to deal with that,
The 2nd has brown, purple leaves and it is very dry i cant see if it has unhealthy base or roots,
I would appreciate if you or someone would give me advices to solve this problem.
I still think it’s due to watering too often. I think it might be true for both. ‘Cause at an advanced stage of dying, leaves can wrinkle up whether it is due to over or underwatering. How often do you water them? I still would suggest that you dig it out and check if the root area is healthy. Is the soil wet right now? I’ll be waiting for your reply. I hope I’ll get a notification, too. 🤞 For some reason, I don’t get notifications for replies. 😅
@@SucculentFame I water it twice a week the 1st seems okay,
But the 2nd its leaves are starting turning purple, the root is just fine
Thanks for these tips, i just started with mine, they're store bought and already established some roots and i was not able to repot them immediately and sadly the stem close to the roots were rotten, i did what you advised and hopefully they will be revived. Thanks and Let's be friends

Very good information. Thank you. My cactus is one that's wide (@ 4") and it was overwatered. I'm trying to save it but I don't know how to actually cut it...if I should cut it at all. If I cut it I imagine since it's so wide, it will expose the mushy inside. I removed it from the planter to attempt to dry out the roots...not that I can save the bottom of the plant. So...do I still cut it and replant as is, above the rotting part? Thank you in advance.
Hi Yvonne, leave it out of the planter for now and just let the mushy part dry out, so you won’t have to cut it. They are still better off without water and out of soil while it’s trying to recover. Which kind is it? Is the mushy part right at the base? Does it have a stem or is it like most Haworthias that don’t have stems? I’ll wait for your reply. 👍😃
@@SucculentFame --- hi...thanks very much for your reply. Truth to tell I have no idea what type of cactus or succulent it is. I immediately removed it from my planter to allow it to dry out. I looked at it everyday and could see that the rest of it was dying. It was @ 4" wide and I was afraid to cut it as I thought it would just expose the inside. I hated to do it...but I threw it out. I had it for years and it killed me that it died.
THANK YOU!!!

I live in India. Can you tell me how to make a succulent potting mix at home.
Hi Sita, here’s the link to my video about soil mixtures. How to Customize Your Succulent and Cactus Soil (Succulents Differ) ua-cam.com/video/08AK2t929T8/v-deo.html For cocopeat, you can do a 2:1 ration of cocopeat to perlite to improve drainage. Or you can do pure coco peat, but watering can be very tricky, that’s why I’m suggesting adding perlite. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

I have a zebra aloe/ hawarthia.. it has a few pups.. the roots look brown. I'm sure there's few that are still alive. How do I save it??
Its very dehydrated....
Hello Michelle, please note that when it’s time to water, the soil should be soaking wet, but after a good soaking, they need to experience a good dry spell, too. Thank you, I’m in a process of trying to save one. I was so confused b/c the rest of my succulents are thriving. Even this one that’s dying has given me three or more “kids” and the “kids” are doing so well. I’m currently in the middle of trying out the methods you’re saying in your video. Wish me luck. I realized the difference though, this dying mama is put a bit further from the windows, while the others are so close to the windows. So the others must’ve had more sunlight to dry their soil. When I uproot the mama, the soil is a bit too moist inside. Anyway...that’s my theory. We’ll see if I move it after this emergency saving mode heals the mama.
cicinomaden I’m confused, why would you keep it in its current spot?
MonsterShug I didnt keep it in its current spot. I moved it once I realized my mistake. Now it is dead tho. Live and learn.
cicinomaden sorry I had a funeral this week too 😞
Hello! Your observation is correct. Unfortunately, some areas of the container can really remain moist. I’m so sorry to hear that your attempt to save it didn’t work. I normally would postpone watering after replanting for about two weeks or so. I also make sure that the soil I’m using is bone dry. They can’t manage to absorb further moisture (this is for dying succulents due to too much moisture). Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. Hii, i would like to know what type of succulent was the one at the start, it kind of looked like alien fingers. I have one at home and would like to know what it is
Hi Julia! I think you’re referring to the Crassula ovata ‘Ogre Ears’ or ‘Gollum Jade’. They’re one of my favorites. 😊 Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. Have a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year! ❤️🙏💫
is it good to plant all succulent in one pot together or what?
Hi Henlih! It totally depends on your preference. Just make sure that they have the same care needs. Hi! Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 😅Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. So if one side of the plant was getting more Sun than the other why not just rotate the part every few days so each side gets even amount of sun. Doesn't that make sense
Thank you, Carol! That’s a good suggestion. It’s just that I have quite a big collection and life can get busy. It was an oversight on my part. I guess, we all learn as we go. Thanks again.
Hi Sheela, my succulents are dying. Their leaves are turning blackish and falling. Wanted to send you the pics too, but don't know how. What to do. Pl suggest.
Hi! You can send it on instagram. I go by the same name there, Succulent Fame. Maybe we can still save them. I hope it’s not too late. Thank you for reaching out. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Sheela, already contacted you via messenger. Please check once. Regards.. Debjani Bhattacharya.
Why wouldn't you show the callus part???
These days, I normally don’t wait for them to callus. I just plant them straight away and it works fine just the same. I just postpone watering for a few days. It is okay to wait for them to callus. Either way works. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. So when it callousing? Do I leave it out in the open or keep it wrapped?
Hi Mari, try not to wrap it. In fact, these days, I just plant them straight to the soil without waiting for them to callus. I just don’t water them immediately. They still grow nicely. Hi! I found a succulent that looks like a bunch of little not spiky cacti, and I'm currently callusing like 15 of the stalks cuz I got hope for it
