I made a great mistake in the last video.......Ben is a autohex and hextag fanboy, just hangs with cdgi crew everynow and again.... hehe. Massive thanks to Bens Bimmer Services for helping me out with this.... facebook.com/Bensbimmerservices
Ben is the best. Super helpful
Great fix Andrew. And thanks to the guys from BBS. Have a great day, regards, Nico.
Andrew that hammer was looking good there for a while i just about got all my parts for my turbo barra e90 swap i will be going full tilt in a few weeks and i will be using the 6hp26p barra auto and crossmember and tail shaft from the 320i as it should bolt up to it as it is also a 6hp box cheers glenn
That's a very nice setup you have there now. Every day is a learning day I guess. Alientech is pretty good I see, should get me one of those.
One of the best tuning tools that’s for sure. But it’s so expensive!
@@ZeroTo60Tube yeah I saw, i was checking it out today 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Oh that Psyche out false start really got me LOL. So glad you got it going. I've heard before that people have had trouble with water getting into their computers after going through a high pressure car wash or something. I've never had it happen to any of my BMW's over the years and I've gone through more than one without the rear engine cover on. I'm kind of confused as to how it happens as those white ish covers over the areas seem to be pretty sealed for the most part. But one report said it was a high power wash nozzle that sprayed into the seal and opened it enough to let the water in. Weird stuff.
Well i worked it out. Becuase i looked at this lid, and it was 100% fitted correctly, the seal was in good condition. It turns out it comes from under neith. The white boxes to have a drain which i think is for condensation. With the warm DME in a cold country there would be condensation on the inside sometimes. Anyway if the area below the DME box doesnt drain properly it will fill and then i turn the DME box fills.
@@ZeroTo60Tube So would that make it more likely to happen in a cold country like mine here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada?? We get extremes and I know that when I first bought my E46 M3 it had been sitting for a year and only taken for short drives in the summer were they would run the air con then just shut it off. By the time I got it there was a stank coming out of the Air con vents that would choke a horse. I didn't complain too much as I was getting the car (67000KM's on the full drive train but 238,000KM's on the body because it's a 330ci to M3 swap out) for $9000 CAD. After some research I found out it was due to the condensation being left in the vent tunnels after just shutting off the car when the A/C had been on and not letting the fan run to dry out the condensation in the tubes. It's fine now after I found out if you run the A/C when you turn it off run the fan on full for 60 seconds or more before leaving it.
Nice work. I probably would have given up long ago, but you kept at it and figured it out.
Persistence, determination or maybe just stupidity. But we get there in the end
@@ZeroTo60Tube nothing but respect for you. Unreal that your super power is patience and persistence. Wish I was more like you. Very inspiring.
i cant pay attention i keep staring at that white holden on radials .
Same...lol
Man it is such a mean bit of kit
Hey I need the steps to cline the ISN. I have tried writing the data using the ktag but no go the ISN codes are different need to modify the file
Thats not something i can assist with sorry.
I believe ECU benchtool from aliexpress should be able to read the DDE EDC17CP02 ISN, cost around $250. Could you check it out as little information out there at the moment. I have the N47 engine and would like to clone the ECU. Greetings from Ireland.
I just did a quick google. It looks like a good tool for the money. But who knows with the chinese stuff. If you do give it a go please le me know how it goes
Man it must have felt so good when it actually fired up again!! 😁
It was getting a little annoying that’s for sure
Haha no doubt!! But you’re really good at getting it all back together 👍🏼
How do you know if you have to read Micro, Flash or EEprom? What‘s the difference here? Thx:)
Depends on what you are trying to do.
So you wrote the ISN from the CAS that you got through BimTool?
What program was that, where you could read the bin file from the ecu? How do you know what byte is the isn in the file?
And do you know any programs besides TunerPro which I could modify my N54s MSD with? Damos Files for N54?
Ben Bimmer Services did the dde edit. It was alientech that read and wrote to the DDE.
Odd that you have water damage issues so often in a warm climate. I drove whole winter with BMS cowl filters + no cowl. And occasionally got 40cm snow. But no water damage so far :D Am I pushing my luck?
Not at all. I think it’s down to plant matter/tree leaves sitting and then decomposing in the drains. I bet a place with more rain would flush the drains before they are a problem. We don’t get rain often, but when it rains it pours
@@ZeroTo60Tube Very much like that in the xDrive cars we winter drive here in Ontario Canada. The snow builds up and prevents road gunk from being flushed out through the drainage system until eventually spring rolls around and it's straight plugged with sand and salt in there.
I'm planning on doing a 2jzgte swap on my e92 335i and then I'm buying a 2001 is300 and putting the n54 in it just because I can 😅 I want people to be confused
what do you use to tune/modify the e53 x5 4.6 ecu? i need to raise the idle rpm, and tune out the air suspension. (i have inpa/ista, i believe i can do the air suspension there because ive raised and lowered it before, but im not sure about things like raising/lowering idle rpm).
I pulled the map out of my x5 e53 4.6 last year and it was so aggressive I left it, those things need very good fuel (octane) and good spark and the factory tune is pretty stout. There was a little to be made but not worth worrying avout
BIM TOOL FOR THE BIN!!
It has some merits. Like I bet the programmers at the back end are quite good. But the guys working on the English interface are terrible
Bimtool can get isn by dump on Edc17
Not this e series version. The e series edc17 is rare it seems
Edc17 isn is in eeprom not flash 🤭
Also works bench
Well the alientech eeprom read didn’t have it.
What tool did you use to do edc17cpo2?
@@ZeroTo60Tube it had it in the eeprom, only it is not always in the same location in the dump, sometimes you have to manually search for it.
Most of the time i search for it manually to be honest in the eeprom dump.
All tools that read ecus such as ktag, flex, autotuner, ktm they read the same file.
btw,i sent you an email the other day ;)
