Israeli Pita - How to Make Homemade Pita Bread using a Pan

4 Pastry Cloth
Baking Paper
4.4 pounds of flour (30 medium-sized pita grow)
2 tablespoons yeast.
3 tablespoons sugar.
3 tablespoons olive oil.
3 or 4 cups of water dough should be sticky so the amount of water changes as needed.
1 Tablespoon salt.

I have to agree I'm deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other so for me it doesn't really matter what language the audio is in just the quality of the recipes but you can tell this is a true tried and tested family recipe and will make the best Pita. Thank you very much for sharing.

Reporting back -- I made my first really good pitas. I didn't use this recipe, because I have only fresh yeast on hand, but the parchment squares are essential. Also, I used the oven and a pizza stone instead of a skillet.

Thank you! This was very informative. I made delicious pita in the oven, but the major problem was that bottom of the pocket was thick and the top was thin. I’m glad to learn how to make them on the stove so that both sides can be equally thick! I can’t wait to try this recipe

When I make pita (in the oven) sometimes nice puff, sometimes half, sometimes not. From this video I learned to make Pita in the pan: first flip when you see small air pockets. Wait till a little bigger pocket, flip again. Now they will puff up every time!

I have just gotten back from visiting my Palestinian grandmother and she made these all the time and I wished I had paid closer attention to how she made them, so it was a relief to find your helpful video. I'm looking forward to watching your other videos, as I loved the fusion of traditional Palestinian food blended with European influences that I found all over Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It was amazing to discover my ancestors food being embraced by the Jewish community.Then to my surprise, I discovered Ethiopian food which I wasn't expecting. Thank you for your perfect recipe.
This is not the food of your ancestors. The Israeli pita was invented by a German mechanical engineer who invented the electric pita oven. But the Arabic pita recipie was not suitable for this oven, so he came up with a recipe that would work well with the machine, and that's how the puffy pita was obtained. I know the recipe of the Arabs from Hebron and it is not at all similar to the Israeli pita. It's a different recipe and the ingredients in the dough are different.
