the big garnet looks like it has six sides ! little rough, but finding your own stuff , cant beat it ! the small spikes sometimes were from small gauge cart tracks in mines, quartz and mines .. Gold !
For sure!! I see lots of those spikes around mines but there are no mines recorded in this spot, I've even found similar spikes in my back yard which is interesting!! Also about the garnet, there is actually a few sides left on it, they have a nice etched look but I think I'll try and use my spot cleaning machine to try clean it up a little more😁
Black stone at 12:35 is so cool! I first thought that it looked similar to Actinolite, but I don't know. great finds. Almandine Garnets you let us see in last part of video was really beautiful.
The high quality pictures at the end were really cool. What a great time breaking rocks and enjoying nature! I always learn something new, about the minerals and deposits in your area! Awesome time!
Thanks!! The way I think of it these deposits can be found anywhere in the world so each way I can describe this deposit can help another person find a similar deposit of their own!!😁
That was a nice adventure. I love the quality images at the end of the video. You can really see the facets on the quartz and color of the garnets. Beautiful.
Thanks!! I really should explore further up the mountain, now that the melt has drained off I can be a bit more confident in how stable the ground is. I'm sure there has to be an amazing view up there too!!😃
Thanks!! That boulder with the garnets was so dense it felt like the hammer was bouncing of the chisel at some points, It gets pretty hard on the wrists after a while. I'm super glad I came across that piece with the prehnite and quartz though, if I can find more of that material I'd be doing good!!😁
Nice video! Like your style. Are you in BC? I'm in WA and do a bit of rockhounding, nice to see someone explain as you go along. There is a peace to your videos.
Thanks, I am in BC!! When I first started rockhounding I found it kind of hard to learn about how and where minerals form. I try my best to explain some of the geology so someone might be able to pick up on indicators in their area and find their own spots😁
Thank you for including the great closeups at the end. You found some really beautiful crystals! The champagne colored quartz is so clear and shining, and the colors of the garnets show up so well. How neat to find the small spike tucked away under a boulder. Is this the same area as where you found the old saw blade? That creek is a treasure! Wonderful video! 💎
Thanks!! Yea its the same area as where I found the saw blade, there must have been a bit of activity out there back in the day. I'm thinking it may have been a camp for when they built the railway out here or something, not really too sure🤔
It's tempting!! If I don't cherry pick I wont find the very best stuff though. Honestly I should have moved from this area to find the source but every time I go out there I start finding awesome stuff in the lower creek and get sidetracked 😅
@@NWRockExplorer I live in eastern Alberta, and the gravel pits left from the glaciers long ago leave all sorts of random things all over! So I’ve gotten into the knack of having to look at things very quickly
Having a freeminers license is always a plus but you don't need one if you just want to pick at some rocks. Always make sure that you aren't digging on private claims, reserves, or provincial parks. Have fun and I hope you make some awesome finds out there!!😁
👍
Cool video enjoyed

Man, it was fun breaking rocks with you. How do your hands feel? Gorgeous crystal and garnets. Thanks for sharing your passion and positive energy!

@@NWRockExplorer Yeah, that looked like a hard rock. Totally, that would awesome to find more of those for sure!

I’d probably be breaking damn near every rock I see within a 20 mile radius 😅 curiosity gets the best of me

Do you need a freeminers license to do this?
