- This is my Mother's Day week update for 2019. This week I had so many cactus flowers that opened and had put on an amazing display. Everything shown here, including the pictures, are all from my backyard cactus collection in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Amie Davis, yes! That is a good start. I remember when I first started, I also bought 3 cacti from Ikea and made a pot arrangement. After 6 months one of them flowered! And I did not even know then that cactus has flowers. Lol! Thanks for watching. ☺️🌵☕️

Woohoaaaa.. those were seriously gorgeous blooms Anna and your collection is something to be very proud of. 👍😍😍 There's quite a number that I don't own mainly because they aren't available in my local nurseries. I see that you are preparing the ground for the grounded cacti and succulents. I'm very certain it's going to be fantastic once it's completed. Opuntias have gorgeous colorful flowers so I'm pretty certain your garden will be very colorful and beautiful once it's done. 👍👍👏👏
Yes, Molly. Like I told you, I am jealous of your cacti planted in the ground so I am going to try them out in my yard. 😉 I think they can easily survive the summer heat but it is our winter that I am worried about as we sometimes get light snow.
@@CactusCaffeine Maybe you might have to cover them with something if they can't survive the winter because that's what I saw ftom other channels. Just an idea though! I like it when you use the word "jealous". It makes me smile. 😃😃😃

Fabulous show of colour. I also have to remove my cactus from the greenhouse . My reason is bad light. It's only used to over winter the plants . As soon as the chance of frost has gone which is mid may they are out. Maybe you don't know what frost is..lol.. great video thank you.
Hahaha! We also get hard freeze here in Las Vegas as well as occasional snow during the winter. And yes, my greenhouse is only for winter and turns into a storage house the rest of the year. Lol! 🙂👍🏼 Happy gardening and I wish you many blooms! 🌸🌸🌸
What I would give for an outdoor cactus garden that blooms! I live in washington State too cold. I have an lighted indoor succulent collection with only two true cactus.
There are some cacti that blooms well even indoors. Maybe you can build a small cactus dish garden? 😉 Thanks for stopping by. 🌵☕️

I agree with you on echinocereus they need to high temps and direct sunlight.
They just don't look Healthy Indoor the body doesn't grow like it should.
That's why i stop 🛑 adding them to my collection (Indoor)
So i had no choice but to send them to the garden. Were the get all that sun.
I learned through the years, what type of cactus do great indoor. So my collection is changing through out the years.
As well enjoy having them!
I feel like i should talk about this topic with Indoor and have them out in the garden.

Wow, what gorgeous flowers. I think my cactus may need more heat like you said. It has been in the basement and it stays about 65°F there, so it problem won't come out of dormancy? I brought it up and outside to a porch garden.

Darren, I love this greenhouse! Good choice you made there. We have a very brutal weather here and the greenhouse is able to withstand it.

I have a rainbow burst cactus. It hasn't bloomed for me and I wonder if it is because it is so covered in pups that it doesn't or can't. HAs anyone had experience with removing all the pups to get blooms.?
Hi Bill. I have 3 pots of Rainbow burst but only this one is gIves me flowers. The other 2 just keeps producing pups like yours. I did remove all the pups on one as an experiment to see if it will flower. I got 20+ pups from it! I’m still waiting for a bud to show up. 🙂
