    I have a mate in Canada who hunts everything he can get a tag for. The areas he hunts is pretty dense. He loves climbing trees and setting this chair arrangement up in the tree as a shooting* platform. Never heard about this type of hunting here, seems very successful method for him.

      i believe but could be wrong that any form of tree mounted chairs are illegal on public land in nsw at least

      Thanks mate. I never used to use cameras either, but they are definitely the way to go when sussing out an area.

    Thermals and wind direction,,,, get a diary write down the weather for each day , wind direction how many knots , was it raining or cloudy , sun shine. Check your tc pic of a deer then go to your dairy to see what the weather was ,,they might only move in to your system on a certain wind or before a weather front. , then you can build your hide or tree stand for that wind. One thing is for certain you will not learn anything from something that’s dead, so enjoy your filming,,, O one last thing. You can make as many mistakes as you like ,He only has to 1 and you have got him. 🐻

    In summer I tend to sit and wait in over watch positions around the lower water sources, make a natural blind weeks beforehand and I'll wait all day. Wind is a major! major! factor even when in my favour so scent lock and block is needed if spending that much time in one spot, but still not a guarantee. Always really difficult in high pressure areas like you have. Good luck.

      @@fhckoutdoorsalthough all of what I said can be useless shitt in other areas.

      @@dougalmcalpine6804 I'll definitely be building a blind. There is little to no wind down in this area, so hopefully that helps.

    At the time of writing this comment I haven't checked the dates on your footage if it was weekends or weekdays but I found in the forest i go it can be popular with folks so the deer are way more active on weekdays. They come out just after dawn and just before dusk if a weekday but the weekends its always after dark. I use the kings cams as well set on video and it works a treat. good luck with it.

      During the winter they get hit more and are out almost exclusively on weekdays. But most of this footage is from weekends, because less people hunting at the moment. Which is good. Stay in Melbourne ya bastards.

      I’m coming to the conclusion that fallow deer are cunts. I have been finding more areas were I hunt hog deer down here are getting less and less hog deer sighting and more fallow.
      it’s like there bulling them out and taking over the coastal and now hog deer are turning up in mid farmland even in to the state forest where normally hunt samber.
      But in all seriousness you have to do follow up vid if ya get one not leave us all hanging

    Interesting the big fella at 0730 is dry, does that indicate he isn't visiting the wallow and coming into that spot directly? Interesting details and assumptions. Can't wait to hear the results.

    • @fhckoutdoors
      @fhckoutdoors  10 місяців тому

      He has a mud patch on his bum, but you are right, it is dry. I havent had him on camera at the wallow, only on the hill above it, so I assume bypassing.

    Hey mate just put a 3-9 VP freedom Leupold on my deer rifle, if you shop around and flash some cash you might get a pretty good price at gun shops
