    Ah, Morrowind. The one truly unique and original subsetting in The Elder Scrolls. Everything else is closely derived from a human culture or older fantasy tropes.

    • @Fortify2030
      @Fortify2030 Рік тому +11

      Dunmer culture was lightly inspired from India. Tribunal = Trimurti, calpa, Vivec = Shiva. But at the same time Veloth almost obviously inspired by Moses, and thus Trinimac is the Pharoh

    • @Aristocles22
      @Aristocles22 Рік тому

      @@Fortify2030 Very loosely at most. The Tribunal could also easily be taken from the Christian trinity- their temple even has "saints" in it- and it's obvious that Vivec, Sotha Sil, and Almalexia are meant to be a fighter, mage, and thief, respectively.
      And the Kalpa isn't a term in Elder Scrolls which is specific to Morrowind.

    • @Fortify2030
      @Fortify2030 Рік тому +6

      @Nonamearisto Which god in Trinity is a trasngender? 😁 Early Shiva cults depicted him as a transgender god just like Vivec, he also a poet and a warrior. Sotha Sil is obviously Brahma, god creator.
      And Almalexia is the Vishnu.
      Also Nerevarine is an avatar of Nerevar ancient dunmer warrior and king, which reminds us Rama.
      In Christianity trinity is ONE god, not three different gods. Tribunal is the three different gods, wich can act as one if needed and become AlmSiVi. In hinduism Trimurti can do the same and become as the Brahman (ultimate being).

    • @Aristocles22
      @Aristocles22 Рік тому +2

      @@Fortify2030 Vivec is not transgender. He might be intersex (two sets of parts), but he doesn't identify as female after being born male.

    Great video. Even though I've played Morrowind long after both Oblivion and Skyrim, there is something special about it when compared to others. It's as though a piece of it has stayed with me through it all, and nostalgia has nothing to do with it. The heart and the void it left has also been connected to Sheo, I wonder if this divine madness was intentional at all, especially in regards to what the heart did to Dagoth, and if the heart is atleast metaphorically related to Sheo, it says a lot of Vivec blaming Bar on him

    Beautifully done once again Drew! Morrowind and the Dunmer are such a great facet of the Elder Scrolls and they deserve the love

    i always wished Bethesda would expand on the Idea of Morrowind creating even deeper Lore over time with unique Location´s and unique fantasy Peoples and Traditions etc. But sadly they barely did meet this criteria with Oblivion and even worse with Skyrim this two Games leaning heavily on Morrowind´s shoulder. Still i liked those 2 Games alot even if theyre not great like Morrowind. So after Starfield im shattered and disillusioned i fear for the worst for TES6 still i cant completly deny my hopes and maybe there will be a turnaround (please!). Anyway Great Video i love it!

    Man this is so dope! I see a few other creators from other communities doing the longer format and I really like it. Deep dives on areas, individuals and events with this almost doc vibe to it. I highly enjoy this style of lore content.

    Morrowind was easily one of the first games I ever found myself fully imersed in. Unfortunately I have been spoiled by modern game mechanics anmd pretty graphics and playing it today isn't the same, but the music. The music of morrowind still takes me back to playing on my original xbox after school and on weekends. I still use parts of the morrowind soundtrack to sleep to.

    It really is nostalgic looking at the beginning of this video. I still have my original more win for the first Xbox console down here with all of my other games. I also wish I had an old console I can play it on. Nothing that has come after Elder Scrolls Morrowind has been even close to on par with it.

    Hey Drew, for the last year I have been missing these video's. For years I have been following all the lore video's on fudgemuppet, first when you just wrote them, then after you also talked in them. then slowly it started to decline with the podcast taking over witch I did not like nearly as much as a scripted video. then all the lore video's just stopped. I have been missing it ever since until now! I did not know you split off and made al your video's here, shame on the algorithm, it should know I will now watch everything you made in the next couple of weeks.
    I just knew when I started the video, slowly the music rolling in, cinematic shots of the topic at hand that I found my bed time story's once again. Thanks for continuing it here and sorry for finding you so late again.

    I'm not sure if you've noticed, but your view count has been steadily rising. I think if you keep doing what you're doing, then you'll be up to just before prime Fudgemuppet era views.
    Nonetheless, I see you hitting 100k-300k a video if you keep it up. You were my favorite Muppet, and I loved listening to your takes on the Podcast. You always had something interesting to say, and had the best theories.
    Love ya bud.
