Thank you for respecting the touge. Public roads mean rules are to be followed. Safety is important, especially when regular passerby’s are involved. I’d rather safely pull to the side and wait to open a gap than to irritate or even scare a driver.
Why are you bein a weeb and calling it a touge like you're in Japan? TOTD isn't a togue and should never be treated like one... The word "Tōge" specifically refers to Japanese mountain racing. No form of racing should be happening on this road, you'll kill someone. You go, enjoy a leisurely/spirited drive, AND THAT'S IT.

What a complete idiot, the fact he did all that honking and illegal overtaking and you caught up with his every time! In my mind the slower an NPC is going and the longer it takes them to pull over the longer the length of free road ahead of you!
The thing is, there’s only one way in or out. And the same people he brake checked are going to likely pull in to the same stop at the end. I’ll leave the scenario at that. Deals gap used to be fun and vibey - haven’t been on it in 10 years, but was starting to attract the D-bag crowd. Looks like it’s only become worse. Cherohala skyway is a fun one as well and much much longer with big pull-offs. Not as intense though, of course.
These are the sorts of idiots who ruin it for everyone, but most especially for motorcyclists who often don't come out well when these types of drivers fly round blind corners on the wrong side of the road.
Driving spiritedly also means respecting other drivers on the road who are driving normally. If you want to avoid these people, go at a different time where its less busy or a track. Good job, you were patient and didn't join the civic who was creating a dangerous situation.
It's a shame, I'm a local but can't bring myself to ride the dragon anymore. Not that there aren't equally thrilling roads tucked away, but it's just sad to see an iconic drive attracting folks like this. Rest assured, he's not alone :(
I much prefer the cherohala skyway. More open, easy passing, faster speeds, and still gorgeous. Have had too many close calls while riding to want to do the dragon. Cars constantly riding over into my lane on a right hand turn. Makes me shudder
I lucked out when I made an out of the blue trip up there in my Ecoboost stang, I'm planning to get the car worked on a little more after my experience on the tail. Mainly brakes and suspension. I went up there on bald tires just about and the stock 2 piston brakes and base suspension was really showing it's weakness on some of the turns but honestly I didn't find the tail to be that crazy, it was a fairly simple road. I was lucky with no traffic so was able to enjoy it to myself. Im hoping to get back up there after brake and suspension upgrade sometime.
As a local to this area, I have never, and will never ride my bike on the Dragon. This is exactly why. All kinds of cars over the lines the whollee way.
That civic driver is very lucky he didn't cause an accident or kill someone. Double yellows are there for a good reason. Also why would you tail gate and brake check just random people for no reason? This dude is going to catch a case, hopefully that stops the bad behavior. I have fun on twisty roads too, but it's still a public road, I leave people just casually driving alone. People like this make the car scene look bad.
There was a dude on my local backroad in an Evo X who almost got into a head-on collision trying to pass an SUV. Passing on a double yellow because you're stuck behind someone is not worth killing someone else or yourself.
Seeing the dangerous passes in blind corners is really upsetting as a motorcyclist. Please if you’re ever on a road like this, DO NOT pass or enter the other lane without seeing and knowing nobody is coming. Consider everyone’s safety on these roads because not everyone has airbags and crumple zones.
I dont get the brake checking? He wants to go fast, I can understand overtaking and even being frustrated when they dont pull over but why stop? He's just ruining the corner for himself? Either wait with the traffic or if you really must, drive like they're not there. If I'm driving for work and someone like that comes up behind me I'll take great pleasure in slowing them down.. If I'm not at work then I'll put them in their place..
out here where I live every road is like the tail of the Dragon, my entire state is 90 degree turns and switch backs. And if I constantly get tailgated and passed by S.U.V.s, pick up trucks, and even some times box trucks and oil trucks.. They go about 20-30 mph over the posted speed limit 7 days a week, the hilarious thing is I'm in the sports car with the suspension and brakes to handle going that fast safely, they do not... YET insist on tailgating and harassing me lol swerving over the lines, flashing lights, blowing the horn.. I'm like really? how far over the speed limit is acceptable to you morons, last I checked once your over the limit no one should ever tail gate you.
The big problem is that Deals Gap is one of a small handful of places non-locals (many with little to know experience driving roads of its type) know of. There are plenty of low traffic roads that locals run and don't have to worry about stuff that this vid demonstrates.
Let me "REMOVE MYSELF" from this situation. By pulling a U'ee in front of all the people that dude just cut off. Right on that double yellow line I mentioned. ... oh man, BRILLIANT 😂 🤤
Driver is mentally unstable. Picking on others in sports cars can be good fun, but these are just commuters. If they wanna drive slow they are allowed. Dude needs to wait for them to clear out or come back another time. This kind of behavior is what makes those commuters go home and call the local sheriff/highway patrol. Eventually you end up with a busted spot that you can't drive on anymore without tickets every time.
After 40 years of driving I can say as a factory trained from a few auto manufacturers who's owned many brands of sports cars that people that know how to drive fast know where to drive fast and a public road with blind corners is not one of them. The driver should lose his license for a year no ifs ands or buts. In some countries your car gets crushed for doing less.
This is why locals let the tourists have the dragon. There are 100 roads in the area that are just as amazing, but don't have 1000 idiots a day trying to race on them. The dragon is way overhyped.
Me too! On the dragon multiple times, everytime I saw something go wrong. I dont even push my car there anymore, never know what's around the blind corners with these dumb fks running around.
I was really hoping your video would include the part where the Civic and its driver plummet to their eternal reward over the gravel-strewnedge of a 900 foor precipice.
YOOOO WTF was that dudes problem and passing through on coming traffic when the road ahead of him was a left turn. What are you STUPID.. Yea bro good move removing your self from that mess. There’s always some one to ruin it
Believe me, we Alabamians don't like those people here either. Issue is most people here don't know/understand that driving isn't just about yourself, its about maintaining safety.
Jack azz. Why go around two cars in a double yellow and then pull over and then again go around those same two cars in a double yellow. They're begging for drama smh
As a local I see way too many idiots who have more car or bike than they can handle trying to use the dragon as their own personal course....this ain't GTA boys and girls....the responsible driver who filmed this is to be commended.
Last time I went. One of the drivers in our group acted this way. Very childish and dangerous. We shunned the man. It was embarrassing to be around. No desire to go back.
Unfortunate they didn't wind up in the ditch. Wouldn't put it past someone like that to shoot someone if they are willing to pass like that and brake check folk going the speed limit. Hope they were called in
Had a silver civic do that to me once in my 3/4 ton ram diesel. He didn't know it had a built cummins and drilled and slotted brakes outside looks stock. Passed me, brake checked me, as he's brake checking I passed him, brake checked him. Aaaand his ac condenser ended up sitting by his wipers. Comes out pushing his car to the side of the road saying "you stopped like naating you stopped like naating" Told the officer the whole thing, he said I'm glad he didn't pick on a young driver and sent them off the road or worse 🤷🏻♂️
What not to do on the tail of the dragon: let this guy continue driving and break checking out of road rage brought on because a lack In patience, instead of calling the police.
I wish I had a horn with a gun sound effect. That way I could just push it and it sounds like I’m firing a gun at him. Then I can have an actual gun in case he has one and starts shooting at me.
I personally like driving normally around these guys on purpose, knowing it pisses them off. Usually they disappear from sight but looks like this driver sucks at driving fast and you’re somehow able to keep up with him while driving hella chill 😂

As a motorcyclist, and driver..one thing I've learned, if you don't like a scenario, and it keeps happening, (as you stated) "remove myself from the situation/equation." A real "One Up" is de-escalation, not escalation. You did good. Drive/ride safe!
Much respect to you SeikenFreak removing yourself from a dangerous situation is always the best option. You tend to live longer :)
Literally just watched a video of a gt3 rs getting in a head on collision with a truck on this road. Porsche went around the corner and the truck was on the wrong side of the road. Seeing this civic blindly pass two people around corners simply because he feels like he is the owner of the road infuriates me. You handled this situation so well and I have the upmost respect for you. Beautiful car as well, stay safe brother.
I think you’re talking about Adam LZ in his 992 GT3. Yeah some people dont deserve to drive. Rip GT3
@@motion2597 that’s it 👍🏻 pained me to see such a beautiful car get taken out
@@VizualStuntzOfficial really sucks what happened to Adam I watched that too
Different circumstances, the truck driver wasn't familiar with that road and tried to pull into the pull off on the opposite lane. This civic driver is a grade A piece of ****.
@@motion2597 did that happen the weekend of Oct 7th-9th🤔
Back in the late 80's and early 90's the Dragon was a fun place to carve some corners. As Tail of the Dragon's popularity grew, so did the dangers posed by idiots and assholes. I stopped riding motorcycles up there well over a decade ago. Even with a car I avoid the place on weekends. There are a ton of great roads that don't have the plethora of boy-racers on them like the Tail of the Dragon.
The Civic driver is why the rest of us can't have or enjoy nice things...
I once saw a wrecked Charger on the freeway and it had “Stay in your lane B---“ in a big decal on the rear window. Gotta love the irony.
I take this road used to be fun to drive, but it's now been ruined by social media.
I agree since there are many other roads just as technical without all the traffic and numbnut drivers.
Yup. All the drivers know better ones now but aren't about to advertise em.
Turd people have been around for 6k yrs
1000% he's trying to get your attention because of your car! Drivers always do the same with me. I don't have a skyline, But I can relate a little
yeah It happens to me a lot too I own a performance blue veloster N so it stands out a lot from the regular traffic I get a lot of people reving trying to get my attention mainly the ear bleeding civics
@@ArcticN Yeah, it really is almost always some cringy dude in a honda for some reason. I drive a stock crown vic P71 (Not a performance car AT ALL) yet i still get stupid kids in Civics revving at me and full throttling away from me at stoplights from time to time. I just ignore it and keep driving home. One of them ended up getting pulled over a few blocks ahead once, now that was funny lol
@@Kuson2 ha I wish the ones around me would get pulled over I'd video it in a heartbeat. But yeah the best thing to do is ignore them all they want is attention
Dude, good on you for interrupting your own drive to leave the situation. You genuinely may have helped shut down his attention seeking antics and saved some poor driver an injury from the bad situations the Civic driver was creating.
Damn I love the civic type r but that was an idiot behind the wheel! Good on you bro stay safe 🙏
These are the people that keep me away from that road nowadays. I use to live going up there on my sport bike and in my car. Now to many accidents and craziness on it.
That civic driver thinks he's shingo 💀
Quite ironic he drives a civic too 💀
Well Shingo crash and regret it. But this guy don't 💀
Anime isn't real life

shoulda called his plate in. bet he has more going on than the eye can see.
This situation wasn't really about driving etiquette. This person is actively looking to antagonize random people. It's these type of people and situations that warrant me to be legally armed at all times.
I was thinking the same thing, this stupid punk is gonna get a .38 stuck in his face if he keeps it up. Good way to get shot.
Indeed.
At least report it to the police first
@@luichinplaystation610 I don't think you understand how this works. You protect yourself first and foremost, then call the police. I never said anything about shooting him for being a jerk alone.
Very smart of you to remove yourself from the situation. That shows maturity and self control. Kudos

Hats off to you for politely thanking the person who let you pass. 👍
@@inutil6117 Not that deep lil bro

That is the correct way to drive these roads
@@miguelhxrnandez rightttt wtf - call it a road - call it twisties - call it a togue cuz that’s the essence of what it is - we don’t live in Japan, we live in southern America, this is our version and is 100% a togue type road

Go try hard somewhere else no one f*ckin cares
It's like the Civic driver thinks this is his personal race track and not a public road that normal people might be using. Like, I'm sure a cop could bust him for driving like this if one happened to be around. Smh
This is why I still drive my big old beat up truck, someone break checks me like that, they turn into road kill simple as that. Honestly even if I wanted to stop in time I couldn’t lol
What a complete idiot, the fact he did all that honking and illegal overtaking and you caught up with his every time!
In my mind the slower an NPC is going and the longer it takes them to pull over the longer the length of free road ahead of you!
You’re driving like an absolute gentleman, hats off to you. The knob in the Civic, however…
Its people like him that make the public hate the car scene.
I'd say it's the same with places like Nashville or the smokies in general. Lots of jerks coming through thinking they own the damn place.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Thank you for setting a great example. Beautiful road, beautiful ride BTW.
The difference between someone who enjoys driving and someone who perpetually feels the need to prove themselves to strangers
Is that the totaled CTR that Devin Niemela is rebuilding? 😂😂
I'd love to know the idiot totalled his shit driving like that
You should have called 911 and given his license plate number
And what would they do about that?
They have more pressing matters to deal with
These are the sorts of idiots who ruin it for everyone, but most especially for motorcyclists who often don't come out well when these types of drivers fly round blind corners on the wrong side of the road.
Gonna be real fun when he tries to brake check a worn out old pickup and the driver doesn't care enough about their truck to stop.
Don't be shy, tell us his license plate tag
Dang...was hoping for a karma moment when a civic goes off reading. Good on you!
Go 55 on it at 2 am when it’s empty haha it’s scary
Another fatherless driver behavior. Stay safe king
I've never wanted to see someone wrap their car around a tree so much before now.
He really enjoyed his shitbox type R. Respect to the Skyline driver for not engaging in this situation.
This video perfectly showcases money, and how it buys zero driving skill.
He was simply having trouble containing all that horsepower.
The big problem is that Deals Gap is one of a small handful of places non-locals (many with little to know experience driving roads of its type) know of.
There are plenty of low traffic roads that locals run and don't have to worry about stuff that this vid demonstrates.
As an owner of a Type R, our community doesn't claim him/her... Embarrassing.
Let me "REMOVE MYSELF" from this situation.
By pulling a U'ee in front of all the people that dude just cut off. Right on that double yellow line I mentioned. ... oh man, BRILLIANT 😂 🤤
I hope that Civic driver gets the rude awakening they deserve. Without anyone else involved, of course
Public road: *exists*
This guy in the Civic:
"Gosh officer, Somehow the Civic driver was shot 30 times by the tree spirits. Never seen the like before. Forest just got angry."
Gotta love the teenagers with zero skill or etiquette whatsoever. Dude would've gotten the boot at the track before his first lap was up. Noob.
I thought this video is going to go another way but I'm so glad it didn't. Nice display of calm defensive driving.
I’ve driven the tail many times and have never had an experience like this. Good god
Thia is prolly some spoiled rich kid who will total the civic and FINALLY get his BMW!
Damn, was hoping the video was gona end with the civic on his roof 🤣🤣🤣
Comes out pushing his car to the side of the road saying "you stopped like naating you stopped like naating"
Told the officer the whole thing, he said I'm glad he didn't pick on a young driver and sent them off the road or worse 🤷🏻♂️
People like this have clearly never had their ass kicked.
You were way more contained then I would have been... passing on a double yellow like that, putting everyone life and car at risk.
Majority of Civic drivers are like this that's why Civics are stereotyped the way they are because of the bad rep they get from people like this
What not to do on the tail of the dragon: let this guy continue driving and break checking out of road rage brought on because a lack In patience, instead of calling the police.
I wish I had a horn with a gun sound effect. That way I could just push it and it sounds like I’m firing a gun at him. Then I can have an actual gun in case he has one and starts shooting at me.
To be honest this is about 98% of civic kids, especially here in Maryland. I just expect Honda owners to drive like complete incompetent pos’s
The Type R badge cannot simply be purchased. It must be EARNED.
Alternative title: "Stupid wannabe racing driver on a public road."
And Honda drivers wonder why every other driver thinks they are LGBTQ.......🙄
Honda gave that generation of type R the hot wheels / boy racer styling. Unsurprisingly it attracted a certain breed of person...
this guy is why the pit maneuver was invented...
I'm a Honda fan boy! And these guys give us a bad name without being respectful to other drivers on the road!
I personally like driving normally around these guys on purpose, knowing it pisses them off. Usually they disappear from sight but looks like this driver sucks at driving fast and you’re somehow able to keep up with him while driving hella chill 😂
All man I thought this was going to be one of those instant karma videos. Damn.
