Quite an interesting "comparative study." I know Roger Barnes presented a good argument for dinghy cruising vs. "big yachts". Two different life-styles (if I may put it that way... ; ). One important distinction is that although with a yacht you can sail further, with a dinghy you're able to travel "further afield," in that the dinghy is trailerable; one has access to more water bodies, including land-locked lakes, and creeks. I agree! Maybe when Im older I'd favour the 'all mod cons' option but for now, I like the adventure too much :)
