Dinghy Sailor goes yachting

This video is a simple window into the world of yachting from a dinghy sailor's perspective. It is a glimpse of the process of mooring in and leaving a marina. I wanted to see if I might be interested in persuing some 'bigger boat' sailing. I believe you can't fairly compare dinghy sailing to yachting, they are worlds apart in my opinion, held together only by the fact that the principles of actually sailing remain the same. It's the bits either side of sailing that differ so drastically and therefore not comparible. I shall return to dinghy sailing in the next video :) Thanks for watching.

Quite an interesting "comparative study." I know Roger Barnes presented a good argument for dinghy cruising vs. "big yachts". Two different life-styles (if I may put it that way... ; ). One important distinction is that although with a yacht you can sail further, with a dinghy you're able to travel "further afield," in that the dinghy is trailerable; one has access to more water bodies, including land-locked lakes, and creeks. Interesting video. I think a similar comparison would be motorcycle touring with a tent or using a Winnebago. I know which I'd prefer despite the discomfort.

I agree! Maybe when Im older I'd favour the 'all mod cons' option but for now, I like the adventure too much :)
