2min Easy fix - broken door extended cab Silverado

99-06 GMT800 Silverado/Sierra ext cab door won't open: it's prob this $5 plastic clip broken. Quick & easy to fix. Move the seat forward out of the way, pop the door handle trim off, remove two 7mm screws, pop the whole door panel off and pull up on the bottom rod to open the door. Then take the inner handle off with two T25 screws to get good access to the mechanism. Buy a $5 door lock clip like Napa 735-2783 and you'll be back in business.

Did the inside latch still work? My inside latch works but not the one on the "outside" door frame

Nope, neither worked for me. Yours is a broken "outside" handle. Mine was broken when I bought it. That's just 2 screws and a new handle to fix.

I mean, not really. It's 2 screws to replace the outer door handle in the door jamb. Way easier than the inner
