Thank You for the video. Not many doctors those days have a holistic approach like you and many sadly are just affiliates for big pharma, so kudos again.I made a video in a similar topic after overcoming endo [I was diagnosed with endo 4 and suffered for 20 years]and YT suggested this video so I am here.I want every girl to know that getting better IS possible and I am NOT the only one who managed to put this illness into remission naturally. Never give up on yourself!! Sending love. Jola

Excision surgery is the gold standard treatment. Not many doctors know how to do this. Find a specialist. It's worth it. I speak from experience

So, you recommend excision surgery? I am about to have mine with a C02 laser in a few weeks. I'm so scared of doing the wrong thing by having the surgery and ending - up in more pain with more problems than ever.
      With love, another Sarah.

you're so passionate and seem to care so much about this stuff it's amazing I have a degree nutrition but I lost my passion for it a while ago but it was refreshing to see how much you care about this especially in the topic of endometriosis I've been diagnosed with stage 4 and it sucks and it's painful I had to go to the hospital 3 x 1 sauce for a blood transfusion as well so much blood my hemoglobin drop to 60. Thank you for doing a video on the right foods to eat and avoid can you please tell me what your thoughts on coffee are as I love coffee and I'm finding it hard to give up the other thing I would like advice on if that's ok is how to stay healthy when you have a condition like this , due to the severity of my condition I might have to have some parts of me taken out and I'm petrified of the hormonal changes in the 10 days to my body and weight gain and I that sounds mean but I spent my whole life struggling with body image issues and body dysmorphia and now I'm finally at a stage where I can be ok with my buddy how are I know that any type of weight gain will make me very depressed. I have a background in health and still would like to work on it so but also want to look healthy and be healthy for my own purposes I don't know how I'll be able to control my hormones on my way on my anything without my female parts

Thank you so much! This is amazing. I finally went to the hospital 5 days ago because I couldn't put my clothes on or put my arms above my head or bend over I had to sit down because my cramps were so bad my entire lower back down to my tail bone all around my butt muscles side hips inner thighs etc. I'm bent over a lot, only position that is slightly comfortable is in a feetle position. They did a bunch of tests on me, but told me I had to go to a specialist to figure out if I have endo. But I know for sure that my hormones are unbalanced based on body hair. My cycle is always unpredictable and I'm on day 5 of my cycle right now and my body in those spots are sore like I just got done working out because of how bad my cycles are... I don't know what to do!!!

I gained 10 pounds in the past month and I can hardly keep anything down. I am just swelling and in pain. I don’t have a confirmed diagnosis- and because I am underweight, both doctors who I told about this told me it was a good thing I gained weight because I “need to”. I had the same experience when I had a reaction to a medication reaction years ago, with full-blown anorexia, when I gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks.
Thank you for this video. It is good to know I am not crazy when everyone else is treating me like I am.

I do agree with you Dr. Beth. Natural remedies when dealing with endometriosis is the best solution. Especially when it comes to weigh. I remember my sister at one point had gain extra pounds. She was not comfortable with herself at all. So I had to check in Bio tex clinic and find ways that I could help. One of the things that I learnt was the importance of exercise when dealing with weight. When we exercise, chemicals, called endorphins, that are very similar to morphine are released. These are the body’s natural pain relievers and can help ease all kinds of pain. It is not necessary to exercise vigorously. Even moderate activities such as swimming, walking and jogging can help release endorphins into the body. Another advantage of any physical activity is that it will help reduce the stress and tension you will probably be dealing with as an endometriosis patient. Plan a regular exercise regime of around 30 minutes three times a week and your struggle with painful periods and other endometriosis related pains will likely be reduced.

Every doctor has told me that my 25lb weight gain does NOT have anything to do with my endo and I just don't believe how that can be true. I was so healthy and fit at one point and now I struggle with Endo belly. I want to lose the weight more than anything but nothing seems to work. I don't know what to do.

She is correct on almost every single thing, my only caution here is Ashwaganda- this lowers high blood pressure... so it seems good. This is NOT a root every one should use. It made me dizzy, nauseous and throw up for 3 days. I took 3 doses. It took 3 days for my symptoms to go away.
When you try the herb root, which I did, try to find high quality organic roots and try one at a time. This way you will know if you are sensitive or even highly allergic, this can happen. Otherwise, I agree with the digestive and inflammation comments; this is the same thing I have heard EVERY naturopathic doctor and Western World doctor. She is spot on.
Also sounds weird but try belly massage (someone else) I did this along with HSG, ablation, and roots AND prayer (; I have been stage 3 for 10 years and had 2 healthy babies with this combo.
Not for everyone, I am just telling you some things that took me 7 years to find out and 7 years to have my first living baby. (3 miscarriages)
Also, Please, please try not to get upset when your doctor says well at least you can get pregnant. (After a miscarriages) I know you want to slap them, but their right ); if your body will allow the egg to fertilize, you are 40% there.
Keep trying, do not give up.
As far as the pain. I am miserable most days. I would be able to function with my pain medication. (Thank you CDC) for making people in pain out to be criminals! I still work and raise my children and do what I can, but after 3 and 4 we need help, the pain can be unbearable.
If you want to judge and hate go for it. No one knows until they have been there.
I explained it to my husband this way: only a daily basis I feel like someone is pulling my uterus and ovary through my vagina with a crochet needle. My only remaining ovary feels like I am sitting on a soft ball (All damn day) and I can feel it pulsate in agony with every heart beat.
Now, haters could you tolerate this?
And if you’re a man imagine someone pulling your scrotum through your anus and tell me you could get out bed, go to work and still raise productive children.

Am gaining so much weight so quickly because of this Endometriosis. I can’t exercise the way that I need to because of nerve damage. I don’t eat a lot because I get full so quickly after a few bites. I’ve been eating small amounts eating whitening fish with vegetables and sometimes brown rice once a day and am full for the rest of the day, and I only drink water, I can’t even snack ugh.

Stage 3 at 33 years old. Diagnosed at 13 years old; surgically. Something to look into... my dad took steroids when I was conceived. During my infant and toddler years my dad put amino acids and whey protein builder powder in my bottles, to make me “strong.” I can’t get out of bed several says a week. I have the horrible digestive Symptoms. Pain is a level 5 or 6 everyday, number 8 on bad days. I still work and have 2 young children, it’s horrible.

I would like to ask a few questions! I thought that I'd been having cysts all year of 2019. Although i did have 1 cyst, It went away. For 6 months Ive been having more painful issues and finally had my sonogram yesterday which did not show any abnormalities. (I do know that endometriosis is not seen on imaging) I ended up in debilitating pain last night and this morning. I can't take hormones as i am very sensitive in my emotions and wonder if i may have to talk about surgery with my doctor.

I am also stage 3. I had 3 miscarriages before I had a living baby. That said, I have had two successful pregnancies and live births. Ok, now, how did this happen? Well, I had a very smart doctor who figured out we should try a minor procedure prior to conception. It’s called a HSG (Google it) I won’t even try to spell it. It is slightly uncomfortable 😣 because you are awake. Now ... if your tunes are scarred shut you
OB can “blow your tubes open” not sure the technical term, but it removes the blockage of scar tissue, and sometimes an ablation during this same procedure. Now, word of caution:
You will be so tempted to conceive immediately. DO NoT please try to wait one to two cycles. I made the mistake of not wait and I almost lost my son, I had a hemorrhage at 15 weeks. The OB did a scan and said he had a 50/50 shot. I wanted this baby more than anything. This is where you MUST advocate for you and your child!! The doctor said, “ you don’t need bedrest” there is no way to know if it will keep your child alive!!! F^*% that noise! I went on bed rest until no more bleeding. Most companies will even pay you for 8 weeks for pregnancy complications, it’s called STD: Short Term Disability at 80% of your normal wage. I bled ALOT for 7 solid weeks. Then it stopped and I went back to work. My baby survived the 50/50 odds because I was his advocate and I prayed for his little life everyday (; Jesus world miracles. I don’t like what your doctor is doing. A year and a half is too long to wait with Stage 3. Our fertility window is much more precarious and narrow with Endo.
Also most companies will let your doctor sign you out of work at 36 weeks FYI. At the end of your pregnancy rest, feet up, lots of water. Do everything you can to save that precious life. My son was a little bit small but otherwise PERFECT!!! God bless you. Please get a second opinion.

My dr has had me doing conservative treatment for my endometrioma for 3 months. Follow up in 19 days... to find out if I'll need surgery (would be my second). I originally asked him if I could do anything else to help with my endo through diet or other things and he said not really, especially if I wanted to get pregnant in the future.

It can cause pelvic pain. My best suggestion would be to get to the root of the issue first. Figuring out the cause can help you address the issue from there rather than masking the symptoms. I like using DUTCH testing for this:

I had a mostly dairy free diet where I didn't eat much red meat either. Dairy was my biggest problem, my body didnt want to process it at all so I knew it had to be cut.
That diet wasn't perfect, but I had maintained a healthier weight that way for years. I had lost so much weight and maintained the weight loss for 7 years before I started a few different birth control methods to help my symptoms.
When I started the depo shot, I tried the shot for two years, and I had so much weight gain and cravings that didn't go away. I was so hungry and irritable and miserable. My diet went to pieces because I craved so much sugary carbs and fatty foods when before I mainly ate fruit, veggies, and chicken. I kept thinking the issues I had would ease off the longer I was on the shot... but they never did.
I had put on 60 pounds in those two years. It was horrifying. My weight had stayed the same for seven years prior to this, give a two pound fluctuation here and there. It was like my life got turned upside down. It wasn't just weight that was the issue, it took a huge toll on my mental state, my skin and hair. My blood pressure would randomly spike and then go back to a normal reading. I was an emotional rollercoaster and knew I couldn't handle it anymore.
Coming off the shot, the pain has been unbearable and every month it just seems to get worse and worse. Especially now that I've been off it for over a year. I also have fibromyalgia so there are days where I really can't move ,and if I do, I limp or have to move so slowly. It holds me back from so much.
I feel like I've had to start all over again because so many miscommunication issues with doctors who don't really seem to take the symptoms seriously. I've been on almost every birth control method available, I just wish there was one that would really work well for my body. The amount of pain I'm in honestly terrifies me because it's something that never fully goes away and just seems to get worse. I don't want to know how much worse this pain could be in the future.
With the severity of some of the symptoms I'm having, I know I need to be seen about surgery, I just wish there was an easier way to manage this. Even when I had/have a healthier diet filled with foods that are natural anti-inflammatories the pain is dehibiliting still

    • @DrBethWestie

I’m so sorry you are struggling. There are a lot of natural routes you can take to address the root of the issue instead of just addressing the symptoms!

I loved your video!! Since I was 15 I get my period twice a month for 7-10 days. Sometimes it gets better but that is usually the way it goes. I got treated with pills and as soon as I stopped taking them the problem started again. Until recently I went to another doctor and he thought maybe it was endometriosis or polycistc ovary, and he sent me a lot of tests. In the labs everything appears normal and there is no sign of polycistc ovary or endometriosis, however when I get my period I get extreme pain. I also got high levels of DHEA-SO4 hormone. I can relate to many of the symptoms you mention, but I don't know how to adress the issue without taking hormones or pills that work on the short term

Fats crisps, chocolate, l have a constant period atm and constant pms which does not help. I am doing well with will power but what got me is my body suddenly gained 12 pounds I found this out at pre op so have been fixated on diet since. I have never known that Julianne Hough has been going through endometriosis. She seemed charming while she was still the judge in dancing with the starts. This is so touching. She is such a strong woman. Even coming out with the problem that she has been undergoing. What I really learnt from the journey and some tips from Bio tex clinic. Is concentrating with lifestyle changes as you also do medication. Some tips that might be helpful include getting eight to nine hours of sleep each night. Taking naps if needed. Meditating. Eating healthy meals three times per day and nutritious snacks throughout the day. Continuing with enjoyable activities and staying in touch with friends and family. It’s also important to maintain a routine and keep up with work. Light exercise like yoga is also helpful to fight pain and some women find a hot water bottle or hot bath useful. The center also recommends women learn when and when not to push themselves. Plan ahead for unexpected pain exacerbations and talk to a counselor about their symptoms.
