Awesome, i come back her to listen every few years. I've listened to these guys since college. I'm in my 50s now. Love this so much.
They were born to sing together.
Not only does it send a shiver up my back hearing these two singing together again...but it truly brings a tear to my eye. They've written some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard together..
Cool how Gary taps his foot to the beat and Mark taps his to the backbeat. These two are so intuitively great together.
I remember this song playing as I was rolling into New Mexico in the early morning heading east on hwy 40...it just hit me as one of those perfect moments in life.
What a peaceful perfect moment in life!
Imagine walking past that room and hearing this amazing sound. You'd just stop dead.
+Tim Wright Yes, I would stop freaking dead!!!!!
Everlys. Simon and Garfunkel. Olson and Louris.
Why do you fall out and break our hearts?
Sheesh, does anyone else hear Simon and Garfunkel?
I love these guys.. thank you so much for giving us the music. See you at the Filmore in Feb! Karen, We love you!!!
Mark Olson you are missed.
They are legends❤
KILLER !!!!! Real music
...i have that same Guild guitar on the left ...love it ....and I love the Jayhawks..
Mark&Gary is all we need..
late December 2022 , the world needs more tunes sweet as this
Wow. Great musicians + great instruments = this.
in awe of these two
Really love this song.
Two great artists, and beautiful song
Voices blending as well as they ever did - perfect
Love the Jayhawks and Mark/Gary playing together again was wonderful and a fine album out of it came
Heh
Sunday street
When these two sing together, they bring out the best in each other. Such fine voices!!!
If ever two people were fated to sing together, these are the two! But I suppose you can't sing with someone who won't sing with you. Or so I've heard....
Creative tension - possibly?
hahaha true
Interesting
ill fated...
Fabulous!
Damn them boys can sing...
Thanks for posting.
very relaxing music
Magic guys.....
Pure genius! Hope to hear more from you both in the future!
Perfect.
Let us enjoy all the recordings they've done. Now on to better things even.
that is the sound of the Jayhawks. those 2 voices.. nothing against their current lineup. Like if, Simon and Garfunkel were born in the south. when they sing over minor chords, with a Gibson and a Guild.
Beyond brilliant, as great as all of the famous legendary harmony singers, ie, crosby, stills, nash, everly bros, eagles, to name but a few, this is just plain beautiful! It's rustic, as opposed to the polish of crosby, stills, nash, eagles and beach boys. Much more genuine and charming!!!
This is so beautiful I almost can't stand it.
Lovely. Poignant. True.
Awesome!
It is such a joy that these two guys are playing together again. §:•)~
Beautiful
just GREAT
This is inspirating me to something to do , in a quite empty livingroom . Do you know what I mean ?
Great duo. They are perfect together...perfectly in tune and counterbalancing each other. Watch at 0:56 how their feet tap at different beats.
incredible....and yes the total is great than the sum of the parts
These two were meant to sing together.
mark... get off your high horse... gary, work with Mark... This world needs you two to be together and make amazing music... please... none of us are getting any younger and Ill be damned if we dont see you together again... please.. pretty please?
I don't know exactly what went on, I just know that they don't work together anymore for a long time - but sure I love them both together! Very very good music!!! I hear their album "Tomorrow the green grass" again and again...
In this folksy style, with close harmony vocals and acoustic guitar finger picking, it's hard nòt to sound like S&C. They grew up with them and are clearly influenced, but they surely got a sound of their own too.
I'm struggling to find a transcription of this one. Just how is it played? Anyone? I suspect it's pretty simple and they appear to be playing the same progressions except for Louris' solo. Beautiful; haunting at times with the minor (diminished, even?) voicing.
Tragic that they can’t get along well enough to keep making music together.
These bards are up there with Bert Jansch... Which is saying a lot, relly.
Is this a Jayhawks or Olson-Louris original composition or a cover of a '60s folk-rock classic?
Olson-Louris. It's on their Ready For the Flood CD which you should run out and buy right now.
Does anyone have tabs for the song? Can't figure it out😏
Capo up 5... it's pretty easy.
Man thats the first thing i thought of was simon and garfunkel
gary's foot is on the beat. mark's beat is off the beat.
Please just sing together. You are supposed to.
technically this is not a Jayhawks song
That's right, stick to your guns
mark deamer who cares? Enjoy
