Fantastic Job as always! It is nice to know that your cats enjoy disrupting airplane builds as much as mine does!!! It always seems to happen when epoxy is drying…
WOW…never thought about using Epoxy for creating those lenses 😳…brilliant hint👍👍👍 thanks and temperature is getting higher here in Munich, just waiting to have the stormy weather go away and I’ll start the first flight of 2022 then. Cheers from Munich 🍺
Hi Jon , Years ago , in DF , we did the same , but used different coloured Toothbrushes , dipped in Acetone , to get rid of the scratches !! God i feel Ancient !! lol Great as usual Buddy Phil
Your attention to detail shows through when you take this amount of time and effort to get things looking as close to scale as possible, many modelers would have probably not gone that far but your a special kind of modeler which is evident by the effort put forth. Great video!!!!! Cat control is needed in your shop, LOL.
Your builds are way over the top! Beautiful aircraft and the attention to detail is amazing! One suggestion on your lenses if you’ve ever polished headlights on cars you start with 800 grit, 1000 grit, 1500 grit and 3000 grit the 3M kits I’ve found are the best after using these different grits you probably wouldn’t have to clear it or if you did clear it would really POP! Thanks for the amazing content!
Always great to see your builds, luv what you do. Lenses turned out better then I thought . Just if you blacken the in side maybe better light affects. Xo.
Do you have any 5 gallon buckets? Use one of those with your shop-vac to make a low vacuum chamber to help "de-bubble" blocks of resin. . If memory is serving me, those yellowish bars/boxes at the wing tips and tops of the vertical stabs are electro-luminescent panels on the real 14's. I think they would glow a yellow-green.
Great job man. 😀 I wanted to install lights on one of my modified designed plane but n Didn't quite know how to make the lenses. Ever thought building one from scatch like the Turbinator? It would make a great video.😀
Thanks Al! Glad to share the idea and hopefully it helps you! Yea, for sure. It's more about time and projects on the go. If I stop getting so many projects in the Cue or someone want's one built than it's possible.
Now it is on the hony do list😉 Got my hand on one last October. The constrution is not qite finish and it came with air landing gear, air system and wheels. If you do the project it will be perfect for people like me transitioning from EDF to GT.😀
Hi Jonathan, Learned quite a few tips watching you make the light lenses out of epoxy. Do you clear coat the inside if you hollow them out? You and the family stay safe.
Sorry for the Buzzing! got a new mic setup and still learning how to use it! Thanks for watching!
Only buzzing I noticed was the shop cats "motor" got going at one point LOL
Really enjoyed this video...Unbelievable!

Oh my gosh Bryce! They can be such a PITA Sometimes!😒
Some serious detail! Awesome. And your cat obviously wants top billing on your credits. C'mon now Jon. Give it up!!!! 😻
HAHA. Thanks Steve! Sometimes she just has to be in my face, on my shoulders, etc, etc. She's a pain! Thanks for watching!
another great video. this time the most impressive was the process of making lenses for model airplanes.
Thanks Manoel!😊
What a great job! There is nothing you can't do.
HAHA. Thanks Sal!
Wow! Those look amazing. Really feels like a master class each time I watch one of your videos. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, thank you Jay!
The most beautiful plane in history, excellent work, greetings from Argentina
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Excellent work Jonathan
Thanks Kelly!

Awesome! Glad to hear that people are getting something from this one! Flying season is closer for you than us but it will come!

Thanks Justin! Yea very happy with the results.
Your jewellery making skills are getting very good, nice work and that does take some time to do.
Thank you! Cheers!😂🤓
Amazing skills and attention to detail. That F-14 will be Top Gun ready
Thanks Karl!
Great video.👍
Thanks!
Very nice and professional work, congratulations from Remi
Thank you very much!
My uncle is a boat builder and remembers being able to get 5 gallon pails of west systems for under $80. I just love resin
WOW! I WISH!
I believe we pay $90-100 for the hardener and epoxy now, those were the day of affordable building
This PRO-ject is getting interesting!!
Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words Hank! I appreciate it! Yea Nez is a real pain in the butt!
Very interesting, as usual. I always learn something!
Thanks Chuck!
Saturday morning cartoons for aviation nerds lol
HAHA. Thanks!
Haha 😄 You're right.
I've used these Unilights myself and they are superb. Great video.
Thanks Geoff! Yea great system and they will make this plane pop!
I would never have thought to do the light covers with epoxy. Excellent new technique! A lot of work but the end results were fantastic!
Thank you very much!
Wow! Those look great. Thanks for the technique trick.
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Love the cat!
MAn she is a pain in the butt sometimes but she is great!

thanks so much Andrew! Thanks for the suggestion on the lenses. Definitely another method to doing it. Thanks for watching!
Amazing! I learned something new, using epoxy to make, lenses. thanks
Glad it was helpful!😊
Learned some things. Been a big follower of hysol for a long time. Gonna try the west products.
Awesome to hear!
You can also make those with clear lexan and line them with colored cellophaneThey use on Christmas tree decorations
Perfect! I have made them before from lexan/vacuum molding plastic but was unsure of how to get them to be colored.
Always great to see your builds, luv what you do. Lenses turned out better then I thought . Just if you blacken the in side maybe better light affects. Xo.
Thanks Anthony!
Very cool
Thanks!
Fantastic! I’d love to see some evening flights with this setup.
If this was my aircraft it would never leave terra firma.
That would be cool! With all the lights it would be very easy to orient and see.!
Thats no fun!😂
excelente trabajo, ya lo queremos ver volar!
Thanks!😊
Your center color mix is almost the color for the navigation light on the right hand side.
Yea I thought about that as well!

Oh dang! That's a cool idea! thank you for that. I will have to play around with that!
Great job man. 😀

Thanks Don! No need to clear the inside. it's just for ascetics on the outside.
Does the nose gear reflector come with light set?
the light set included the nose light/lens combo. I retrofit it to the stock setup by gluing together with some of the scale bits.
nice
Thanks
And I assume that you are making the wings sweepable?
Absolutely!
I contribute a pack of epoxy mixing sticks to the shop! Lord have mercy you can’t use a dirty screwdriver to mix clear epoxy!
HAHA. Sure you can! you just may get floaties!😂
Haha the Cat its nice :-) and yor videos any
Thank you so much 😀
I just noticed SM changed the internals of the verticals....all formers on mine are balsa and ply..........
How old is your kit? Running changes are pretty common.
@@thelightersideofrc mine must be 7 or 8 yrs now.......
Yea there has been changes with probably every kit in that time period
A good idea.....keep your cat for the next BBQ !!!! smile, joke of course
HAHA. Thanks Philippe!
