Another job well done ... but to be honest, the symmetrical flickering effect kills the illusion completely. Such expensive modules really should have a pre-made mode for twin jet aircraft or let you dial in an offset to break up the symmetry. The effect itself looks gorgeous. If it were my jet, I'd probably limit the effect to 70-100% throttle, tho. No visible flames on jets at all unless you activate the afterburner. That's why they're called "afterburner rings" ^^. At least you got the PLUS version, so you can freely program your own effects using their software.
Yea totally agree! It is pretty slick that there are a bunch of presets for programming. I’m the same! I only want to see the lights at 70 ish percent and above.
Very nice Lesson on the F14 build. I saw the Dark Gold it is a Anchor not a cross. But I don’t know what it stand For. 👍🏻Great light for the Engines. Take Care
Wow! That's turning out to be a beautiful Diamondback bird. I think the Diamondbacks (VF102) and Jolly Rogers (VF 84) had the best looking squadron paint jobs. No offense intended, just pointing out a couple of details that jumped out at me if I may. The afterburner petals seem a bit too dark. They were never quite that dark pre 1987 with the Pratt & Whitney engines and were silver post 1987 with the newer GE engines. Also, the decal shows VFA 102. The VFA is for the F/A-18s flown today since they are fighter/attack aircraft. When it was an F-14 squadron, it was VF 102. Outstandingly beautiful airplane! I can't wait to see the flight video!
Thanks Antonio! All the paint work so far was completed by the manufacture. So those little details are sometimes just generic details to them. Thanks for watching!
35:00 Awsome effect. When both engines afterburner flashes and stutters at precisely the same time it diminishes the scale appearance a little. The amount of effect should be the same but not the exact time the light simulates the exhaust plasma flashing over..See what I mean? (I'm wondering if this is a setting in the control box) 🤔
Hello Kevin. The majority of my builds are for other people. The price varies depending on what aircraft and the complexity. If your interested in discussing more please contact me via email. thelightersideofrc@gmail.com
@The Lighter Side Of RC Thank you for your response, I don't remember anything being said about them in vids. That's why I was curious. Love you vids, keep up the excellent work !!!! And when in doubt, ask trusty bent screwdriver. 🤪
Thats a tough question to throw a generic answer out too. If you want to discuss further or ask any specific questions feel free to email me. thelightersideofrc@gmail.com
I'm sure the engines produce more than enough power, but why is it designed with the engines so far up and a large pipe running out? Seems to me anyways, that you would lose some thrust by the time it travels down the tubes. But, like I said, the engines probably produce more than needed thrust and it's not a big deal.
Hey Aaron. you can actually gain thrust if the pipes are designed correct. I was part of an F18 Build a few years back with the turbines right at the tail cones. Cool idea. Cool system buy the problem is your now moving so much of the weight behind the C of G that you need to add lots of nose weight. I believe in that 18 we added 6-7 lbs of nose weight to compensate. It was a very porky F18.
While the model accuracy is impressive….but as far as making it actually fly…..just seems like a real money pit….for something you can’t fly in…..maybe I just don’t get the rc thing….I would be afraid to fly the thing without a camera on the nose….even then….they got great mobile simulators that cost 5 bucks…..that’s as close to the real thing as I need without actually doing it….
It's a pretty cool rush flying something like this or any RC Airplane while being on the ground. Totally different than being in it. Thanks for watching!
One of the Biggest things that got me hooked on your channel was "Tip tim e presented by Trrusty Bent Srewdriver"
Haha! Trusty to the rescue!
I'm so Happy because you complete your aircraft i most like this design 34:33 looking awesome ❤️ love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thanks!
amazing work and them Afterburner lights are epic, they look so good. cant wait to see more of this awesome build.
Thanks 😊
Brilliant engine and led install as usual, thanks to the Bent screwdriver for mega tips. Good luck with the move. The rings look great. 👍🏻
Thanks! 😊

Coming along very nicely! I love those Afterburner lights... amazing how very realistic looking they are! Really enjoying this build and the videos...
Thank you! Cheers!

It's a decal for a hook or mooring point.
Spectacular, again! Hope everything goes smoothly with the move.
Thanks Gryf!
You are awsome builder! Thank you so much for sharing this awsome build!
Thank you so much!
it's well worth the effort putting in those intake ducts. looks 👍
Thanks! Yea Pain in the butt for sure!!!

What a beauty plane!! You make it look too easy 🙂. Great job!!
Thanks Steve!
The Navy has a very technical term for the tail cones (exhaust nozzles) on an F-14 Tomcat; Turkey Feathers.
HAHA. Very Technical! 😂
Amazing build and aircraft! Can’t wait to see it maiden, you out do yourself on every video keep you the great work from South Carolina!
Thanks Dean and thanks for watching! 😊
Love those lights 👍👍👍 Will be great to see it on the maiden😎 cheers from Munich 🍺
They are outstanding! I'm very impressed! Thanks for watching!
Great tip on the ducts…. Ours bow in quite a bit and i was wondering how in the heck the glue surfaces were going to match up!
Glad it was helpful!
You should also talk about programming that radio. I have one also and it's a great system all around.
The owner had some 14's previously so all the programming is already predone for the most part.
Pretty soon your cat is going to demand royalties. 😻
HAHA! No Kidding! Thanks Steve!
@@thelightersideofrc and by the way, great video.

I think it can all be setup in the controller. There are a bunch of pre programmed settings but i'm sure is costomizable as well. We will cover that.
@@thelightersideofrc Thx for the response Johnathan 👍 😊
Doesn't the heat effect the tail burner lights?
No. There is lots of airflow through the whole hot section of the plane. Keeps everything cool!
Do the lights get hot enough to light the afterburner?
They do give off a fair bit of heat for sure that's the reason for the large heat sinks on the light.
I just googled the Diamondbacks and they are an actual squadron that used to fly the Tomcat but now they fly the super hornet
That's super cool! I didn't know they were a Squadron! Thanks for sharing that!
@@thelightersideofrc The squadron is VF-102 based at MCAS Iwakuni in Japan. They are known for the red tails and the letters NF
MCAS stands for Marine Combat Air Station
Yes this is the 50th Anniversary DiamondBack squadron..
Cool🎉
Thanks!
Hi do you build plans for other people? And if so how much will you charge?
Hello Kevin. The majority of my builds are for other people. The price varies depending on what aircraft and the complexity. If your interested in discussing more please contact me via email. thelightersideofrc@gmail.com
And using the jetcat 550 pro
Nope. This one got 2 jetsmuntz 210 engines.
Thanks for checking things out! When you get a moment, check out my site. www.thelightersideofrc.com/shop
nice
Thanks Ricardo!
So your building this and the f-18 at the sametime?
Both were on the go at the same time. The F18 is done and on the way to the owner.
I have no idea how I ended up on this extremely specific and technical side of youtube, but I'm not mad about it.
Awesome Oliver! Thanks for watching!
Just an off the wall question?? Are the air brakes going to be active ( air/servo ) or inactive?
They will for sure be Active! Will be air activated.
@The Lighter Side Of RC Thank you for your response, I don't remember anything being said about them in vids. That's why I was curious.
Love you vids, keep up the excellent work !!!! And when in doubt, ask trusty bent screwdriver. 🤪

Great job! How mutch does it cost to build a Rc Jet?
Thats a tough question to throw a generic answer out too. If you want to discuss further or ask any specific questions feel free to email me. thelightersideofrc@gmail.com
I’d be too afraid to fly the thing. I’d be devastated (and broke) if I crashed.
Can't fly the money. have to fly the plane!
What is this plane worth?
Most twins will cost about 20-25K USD to put together.

I'm a bit disappointed that you aren't installing real afterburners

You've got a real jet engine make the first real afterburner.
It's been done before. Fun but burns a ton more fuel and not feasible on one of the models.
STOP SPAMMING MY UA-cam FEED. I AM NOT INTERESTED.
🙄🤔🙌
Fake afterburner… i’ll have to exchange that for a real one…
HAHA. Just don't burn your plane to pieces!
quit talking so much and show us
