  • Human rights have real power to transform our societies for the better. In this historical phase, human rights are facing particularly significant challenges. War, the pandemic, climate change, disinformation, the legacy of colonialism or exciting challenges for the future such as AI test us in our ability and willingness to put human rights at the heart of solutions for our societies. What can we do to renew the centrality of human rights while we work to ensure a World where everyone is free and equal?

None of that exists , and the the biggest problem is that people are considered free and equal , , then the immoral and amoral occupy position of power ,when decent people don't even need laws because they have empathy . Not all people should have the same rights because everyone is different and if everyone is different they cannot be given the rights freedom , people don't even have same level of intelligence they get given a vote they subject to manipulation by high ranking people and they sway them and bend them to Thier will ..so this speech is generic parroting of some ideology , it's not based in reality at all ! If your moral and rightous then you should be afforded all the freedom , if your immoral or amoral your freedoms should be limited and restricted , this infantile notion of everyone equal and and free it's a lie , and illusory regardless of the legislation and laws its never existed , we live in a social hierarchy for starters which is not indicative of anything close to equality or freedom . I will agree that you need to wake up , and see the world as it is rather than what you believe it is .

Yes, some people need to wake up to understand importance of human rights, that's where education comes helpful.

100 years ago it would be even more funny, the thing is it stops to be funny when it gets serious.
