- I found these 2 old Defa Lucy dolls in a non-profit eBay store and had to buy them! This is the proof of Defa Lucy being iconic way before those new really beautiful dolls were released :D
Also, talking about the WHY we do now have those pretty girls... and of course a big Thank You to Mattel for the lawsuit back in 2021 lol

The old Defas are definitely fun dolls to have. They are hilarious! And even back then, they had a decent quality for Clone dolls. But of course I like the new faces way more 🤣
Love Defa Lucy tho, in Mexico we love the new ones and also we take the accesories of the cheaper ones

I agree. Even the new dolls do have significant weak points. As long as the price is right, it's fine for me. But sometimes I wonder why some of them are already priced pretty high... I will definitely continue to buy the newer dolls in the future and hope for better hair plus body😅

Yes! The bags are way nicer than newer ones from Barbie 😅 I am really impressed that the quality is even pretty good on these older Defa Lucy dolls. Summer is always cruel 😂 I hope you'll come through the heat save and sound^^

I don't understand anything at all, is Defa Lucy a bad brand or not? If it is a bad one, it's very serious and insulting on the part of people who don't pay attention.😤
I don't get your point. Defa Lucy is a company that makes clone dolls. At least so far... Do you know what a clone doll is? A lot of collectors call everything that is not Barbie a clone doll. Especially when they are not made by a western company. But now comes the problematic point... Not every clone doll is a low quality knock-off, but still, a lot of them are exactly that. Defa Lucy always made their own molds (no recasts, no rebuilds), even when their design was always very inspired by Barbie (always blonde with blue eyes etc.) But they also copied other dolls like Bratz. Is that a bad or good company to you? What does that mean? In my opinion is the quality they provided over the years quite nice and the newer dolls are definitely more unique, but the overall design is still highly inspired by Barbie Extra, for example. Since it looks like they want to rebrand, I am very curious about what Defa Lucy will look like in the future. But you as collector have to decide if the company is good or bad and of course if you like to buy stuff from them. Mattel claimed a lawsuit against them in 2021 based on the fact that the doll had an oval face, a smile and blue eyes... that's the reason Defa changed the head molds. And as a funny extra, nobody cared for their items before the change, now collectors do care for the new faces... So, I guess in the long run, Mattel was not the winner with this lawsuit. But we will see that in the future...
This review is for pretty old Defas. They do have the face that was in question for the lawsuit and that's the reason I connected the topic. Because I find the whole thing very funny! I have no clue why Mattel felt the need to file a lawsuit... the dolls were ok, but not much more than a harmless clone doll. In the future, they could be a competition, but that's up to the image and products Defa Lucy comes up with 😅
