- Just an "average joe" painter sharing what I love. Today we paint up a Van Saar model. I used the speed paint method which has also been referred to as Zenithal, Slap Chop or Grisaille. The entire process took about 30 minutes. I hope you enjoy!
We do these just for love of the hobby. Want to support the channel or say thanks?

I just started getting into Necromunda and I still need to paint my Van Saar gang. Love your content. Thanks!
Awesome! Welcome to Necromunda!
Great job mate🎉
Absolutely love your content! Just wish I had time to watch it all!
Thanks, bud! It will always be there 🙂
Love your painting videos, keep ‘em coming 😊
Thanks bud!
Quick and easy and looking great! Perfect sickly, grimy look for the Underhive!
Your Van Saar looking really cool! Man, I think I spent an hour on just basecoating one ganger for my own gang, but then again, I made the super smart decision to paint white armor. Then shading with white contrast that I still needed to fix up on the chest and leg plates to bring it back up to a gleaming white. Now I'd probably just go for a grey panel liner!
Thanks, friend! :)
Love the video mate!
Thank you for watching. Cheers, friend!
Awesome vid! 👍
Thanks!
Well done, they look great (and menacing) !
Dam this could have helped me to paint my own Van Saar so much!!
Love em!
Hail all
Thing to note is that the version 2.0 army speedpaints dont reactivate the same way that the first version did, you cant wet blend with them anymore.
Yeah I went to my hobby store today to see if they had singles. Not yet.
I question doing two layers of white build up only to be covered by a black wash unless that black wash sort of helps smoothen some of the white paint layers?
I’m still giving these speed paints a lot of trial and error. The two white build up kinda gives a subtle highlight. It’s similar to painting, washing, and doing a thicker highlight prior to a fine edge highlight. It’s just accomplished without waiting for wash to dry 🙂
@MiniatureGameMontage they look good, the term that applies to your method is like a type of speed "glazing" i believe.
The beginning is good, but the end result looks sloppy and messy. As if the paint had not been diluted.
Gotta remember, you never usually see the models from closer than a couple feet, so if you can't see those tiny imperfections at that level, these are more than good enough for tabletop standard.
