Agree. One of the most unique and magical places on the planet. Went to Madeira from Australia in 2015 with my partner who was born there. We started our 9 week tour of Europe in Madeira. We would add ... Levada walks... Nun's Valley, Cabo Girao... Glass clifftop platform.

I would come back there tomorrow. I brag on it nearly every day at my treasure museum. My favorite Island so far. It was a great choice for a honeymoon. I hope your married life brings you more adventures. We are checking in with our friends here to let you know about our name change and upcoming RTW drive in a solar SUV. The great thing about Madeira is that the weather is very consistent throughout the year so October should be a great time to go and you get avoid a lot of the summer crowds!

The temperatures will be on the chillier side but nothing crazy! A simple puffer jacket should be more than enough. The main thing is generally it’ll be cloudier than say the summer but rain shouldn’t be too bad though!
We went at the very end of August! Madeira has amazing weather year round so May will be a fantastic time. We hope you’ll love it there as much as we did 😍

That’s a great time to go! Another hike is the Verda das 25 fontes which is beautiful and very easy. For something more challenging, try eagle rock!

There are some easier ones like Vereda dos Balcões or Levada do Rei that are definitely worth trying!
