- I made the decision to start selling my Funko Pop Collection. In This video I do a lot of sorting of my collection to make more room to sort more. I show you a bunch more boxes full of Funko Pops from my collection and I sort more for sale. In this video I show you the process I am going through to pull out the Pops I want to sell. Which ones I am deciding to keep. I always say it takes twice as long to sell a collection as it did to create it so this will be a long process but hopefully a really fun one.

Even if you sell two pops out of a box, it’s two that you’ve parted with. . It’s still progress. Plus we are all getting to see your collection. Win/Win

Keep what you feel you need to keep. If in the end you only part with 30% it is still a succes, because you made the choices you needed to make. Remember it is your collection and you alone can decide what you want. And 3000 pops is still a lot of space created! Keep it up we enjoy the content!

I really appreciate this comment. I think actually sharing the collection is my favorite part of these videos. I wish I had the space to keep and fully share the collection. Hopefully by the time I finish this series I get there.
We know it's not easy letting your collection go. The most of us just want to see the grails you have. You have so many pops that we don't see anymore so keep going! We love it

Don't feel bad for keeping pops you love 💕, there is the difference between a collection and just accumulating Funko Pops . Maybe you should change your "goals " and so you don't feel that pressure when opening that "hard " boxes. Keep going!
I think at the end of the day I just want the channel to grow so when it starts slowing down it makes the sort feel more of a struggle because I am not getting the energy of the channel growing and videos doing well.
Keep it up! Everyone in my household is really enjoying the process and rooting for you! Its nice to see so much process already made in clearing out space. The shock on my face when it was revealed there was a whole seperate room back there! Lol Dont feel discouraged when you hit stuff you love and would like to keep. Its all fun content in the end

Sean, for the Pops. Alternate the boxs, grab a box to show and keep.The next time a box or two to sell. - It's hard to slim down a collection,I know,I have done this a few time with my books - I get up to around two thousand or so and run out of space,then spend a few weeks sorting and resorting until I can get rid of 50%.
Yeah I have been trying to mix it up so I get through some easy ones every time I hit a hard one. I just ran out of easy access easy ones haha I need to reshuffle alot again and dig out a bunch of easy boxes.

Yes, I figured it was the day to tackle some of the hard stuff. It was stressful but I am past those now. Hopefully i can find some easier boxes in the next few days so its a little less stressful.
Don’t give up and don’t feel bad because you kept the Harry Potter collection - those keepers are now processed - just keep moving forward.

I love the pop collection videos- I wish you wouldn’t be discouraged in the selling process; show the pops and if you are selling then mention that! It’s okay to want to keep your collection!!
I would have loved to keep it all and go for the official record. But alas I just dont have the room to do so. Its kinda like the fable where the woman cuts off her hair to buy her husband a band for her husbands wristwatch and her husband sells his watch to buy her a nice brush for her hair.
It's hard seeing you getting emotional! I hope you don't get discouraged and that you get to meet your goals! You can do it! Your videos bring my family such joy as fellow pop collectors! Your end goals will be worth it. Keep up the great work!!!
Yeah I was getting a bit overwhelmed by the time I filmed this. I ended up taking a day off from sorting and spent a day in the shop working for the next video so I think that was enough to recharge me.
@@popfuntoplay we all have those days we need to just reset and recharge. Take your time and let yourself feel your feelings so you don't get burnout! Can't wait to see this series continue :)
Always enjoy watching your videos. I don’t collect Pop Funkos, but it’s always cool to see your love and enthusiasm for them, so I can understand why it’d be hard to sell some of them.

Yes sharing the whole collection is part of the goal, so even if that is all I end up doing it is still a wonderful series I think.
I greatly enjoy this series and watch every upload from Australia! Its very interesting to see what other funko collectors have and get rid of. Often keeping something is better than letting go and regretting it in the future so definitely don’t work up on that. Keep the uploads going!

Sean, you´re doing great! I´m not a collector, I just like Pops. I personally would focus on just one theme, Harry Potter for example, and collect only stuff related to that. Having all those boxes and not be able to display it would drive me nuts. But that is me. You love collecting different things, and you want to get rid of stuff only temporarily to be able to get more space and then collect again. So every single thing you decide to sell is a win. I love your passion for toys and figurines.
Thank you I really appreciate the support. I have done the display thing when I was young. Its super fun to set up but after a few moths things get dirty, damaged and some time destroyed by light. That is what makes me enjoy collecting them in boxes. I can get the extra special joy of pulling them out and seeing them again after a long time that is thrilling to me. I actually feel my way of displaying them is to make videos. I need a larger space to be more organized then I could do way more collection videos and that would be thrilling for me.
Honestly, I love this series and if I were you moving forward, especially with those really hard boxes, I'd just change my mentality. I'd go into it thinking I'm going to keep everything and if there are some things that I am totally fine with letting go, then that's a major win! That way, you are able to take care of yourself and not feel so drained or overwhelmed, or depressed/guilty for letting things go or on the flip side not putting more into the sell section. Keep what you love and what makes your collection you! Keep going my friend! Hope this is encouraging.
I decided to stop for a few days and working on What not stuff for a bit. Selling and clearing out space in the shop I think will help me get back on track.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. The aim is to sort through your huge collection and distill down into a curated collection. These were just keeper boxes and other times you will hit boxes full of sellers. Stay positive!

I like this series of you going through your collection. I also like the videos when you show the traffic through your store. I would suggest the pops that you don’t want to sell because of a higher value but aren’t as attached to buy grail pops you like to get rid of space
I did sell the $200 connor mcgregor, but most other grails I like to keep. There is a few I know I will be able to part with though.

Hi Sean, I feel so bad seeing you stressed out & physically tired. I know how much u love your collection, and it's hard work trying to organize the boxes and deciding what is for keep and what is to sell. Maybe it would be easier for you to go through the boxes that were produced between the years 2018 & 2020 or alternate between showing other collectible toys/ Funko pops.
Yeah I might need to find all the newer boxes and just knock out more of the new stuff that I feel I can part with more easily.
Keep what you want, Sean! You put a lot of time and energy into getting a lot of these pops. If anything, maybe you put a few keepers to the side that you are on the fence on..when you get to the end of the sorting, if you haven’t reached your goal then at least you have some backup so you don’t have to go through all of the keepers again. Not that I wouldn’t watch those videos also.. Lol
Yes it does make sense to put some on the side. I basically told Alison to pull anything that ends up being more then $50 then I can make the decision to hold those or not.

The thing with a sort of this size, is that eventually you will just get a bunch of boxes in a row that are things you enjoy more. It will be worth it though once you have it completed, so once you get over this hurdle hopefully its smooth sailing!
Yeah and especially in this case I think a bunch of the boxes where ones I just kept shuffling for later knowing how hard they would be to sort lol Hopefully I can hit a few more easy patches.

You are looking at a huge collection, and there will be times where you find a box that you don't want to part with. You logic to this point has been clear and consistent. Don't break from that just because you have a harder day to part with some of them.

I was glad to hear that about the Harry Potter fans not getting rid of Pops. Most of mine are from Harry Potter and I hope I can keep them forever. Atleast you will be getting the best prices for yours, rather than selling a collection for 40% of its worth
Harry potter is very strong in the world of Funko Pop collecting. They sell fast and they are hard to get. Only thing that keeps them from going for crazy prices is they print a lot of them.

Hey Shawn, You're really making progress! The camera doesn't do your video making area any justice. When you show a stack of bankers boxes going from floor to ceiling you can really get a sense of scale, as opposed to if you're just filming the intro to a comic video, we only ever see the comic boxes behind you and maybe a few bankers boxes, but nothing that really reveals how much space is being occupied back there! Congrats on the video series doing well! You'll get to 100,000 soon enough. Cartoonist Kayfabe guys just passed 70k. I saw you in chat there a couple of weeks ago while they were recording their 'live' session. Have a great rest of your week, friend!
Oh yeah Cartoonist Kayfabe are great, I love their channel so much. And yeah its a massive collection of stuff in a small space. I would love to have a 5000 square foot space one day for my collection and youtube. I could do so much in that space.

Thank you so much, it is really hard to part with a collection if its something you really enjoy. The hardest part is the first one, if you can find one you can part with it will get easier after that.
Keep that grail in mind, think about it everyday as you do this.

I know you have your heart set on 6000, but if you get rid of 5000 or even just 4000 it's an amazing accomplishment. Keep grinding, but don't loose yourself to the process!

Yup, I have so many to sell that I am not rushing to sell any I want to keep.

I understand not getting rid of the Harry Potter pops. I have over 150+ of them including crimes and fantastic beast. I've sold like 5 and then I regretted it. I'm glad they were the newer white boxes ones which make selling then a bit less painless.
Yeah that is a set that most people who own want to keep even if they are selling their collection. It really is hard to find them. I might regret selling the Fantastic Beast ones but I am not as attached to those and I think they would be easy to replace if I needed to.
@@popfuntoplay for the fantastic beast I personally wouldn't worry to much on them in the sense of value going up, except the newt conicon one and maybe a few other like the og Tina, grindelwald
Yeah that is kinda how I thought about them, the newest movie did not push values at all so I dont think they will go up much more so should be easy to get for the same value later.

Mystery boxes tend to make you get poor value for your dollar. Instead I would try to find lots on ebay etc with some awesome pops mixed in that you can get for a great price.

I'm curious, what is the process you are using on knowing which of the funkos you are selling are from your collection vs existing in the store? I'm really curious. Maybe you could talk about it a bit during the next video?
They just get mixed together when I put them into the shop. But I can see what is selling so can guestimate how much is from the collection in sales and how much was from the shop already.
Pretty sure those home Alone pops are going up in price
Yeah they are on the edge of wanting to keep them. Very conflicted on those.

I'm not trying to unmotivate you but I get the whole thing about wanting to keep everything I have no where near what you have and most of mine where impulse buys but they still mean something to me we collect stuff for a reason. Long story short I know you have your goal but if it comes to hurting that much about rather keeping or selling something I'd much rather come up short on my goal than sell something I could never get back..... other than that keep going vids are on point!!!

Question! Since your selling your collection and time to time keeping some, are you still shopping for new funkos for your collection? For an example a new Jack Skellington blacklight funko pop doing his scary face (#808) came out, would you purchase it despite you trying to sell your collection?
At the moment I am not really interested in new release pops, they feel way more over produced so I feel like I will be able to get it later on pretty easily if I want

How long have you been collecting it seems like maybe about 10 years if I'm guessing by some of the older pops
1 bought a pop in 2012 but the end of 2014 is when I really started collecting.

Pops have been out for 12 years now so there is a ton of out of print pops you dont see anywhere other then online.
