What Can You Find in NYC Thrift Stores?
Вставка

- We decided to check out the thrifting in downtown Manhattan to see if we could find under-priced items to flip for a profit. Will the city be too expensive or will be able to find some deals?

Update: I don't actually think the earth is flat, it was a joke and I'm actually startled at how many of you thought I was serious 🥴🤣
Also, PLEASE DO NOT MESSAGE ANYONE ON WHATSAPP OR TELEGRAM. They are pretending to be us, saying you won a prize. It's a scam and please don't fall for it.
Might be flat!
Thanks for the heads up Josh
Thanks I definitely had someone saying it was you but since I watch every video of yours I knew not to reply
Do you have anymore hoodies of the support your friends
😂
always appreciate your videos. got into reselling because of you and now my wife goes with me and we love it. another thing we can do together - we will be married 40 years this June. i tok her to NYC a few years ago and it was a culture shock for her for sure. take care and God be with you.
Josh you were so funny. Could really tell you were enjoying yourself. It’s lovely to see you both happy in your life xx
“You would be able to see the curvature of the earth, if the earth wasn’t flat.” Best line in the video!
😂😂😂
Was he joking or being serious
@@MrAnthraxony That's what I was wondering too.
Flath earth. Cracked me up. Lol
You made me laugh out loud sitting here all by myself 😂❤I love your sense of humor Josh!
I love that you do different things. More than just flea markets, yet I like those enough too. Great job!
You guys are my absolute favorite. I have learned so much from you two.
I grew up near NYC enough to go most weekends lol. I don’t think they would care about filming. I don’t think anyone really cares what others do tbh haha. You could be laying in the middle of the store naked/yelling, and people would just walk over you. Just don’t block them from getting from A to B. You’re good ;) hope you had fun!!!
Haha that is SO true!
So nice to see Lot of Josh!!!!
You're finally seeing my daily thrifting struggle in NYC!!! SO EXPENSIVE!!
Great video, NY NY is fun fun! Thank you for representing us sellers 👍🏻
You were so right about those bins at goodwill. I scored a half a basket of $20-$50 items on the shelves
Loved the cut to the airplane flying across the U.S. That was some hi-tech special effects! 🤣
OMG! You guys are so funny! “…we saw a dead pigeon, that was less exciting.” 🤣🤣🤣
Banger of a video! Glad you asked about the instant payment in New York, I find it funny how companies like poshmark have it but a huge corporation like ebay doesn't.
I actually mentioned to Ebay that their system seems a little clunky, with as big as they are they should have top notch Tech people, or contract it to a top of the line company. It seems that older companies take longer to update and get with the times. With all the new competition in the past few years, maybe that will put a burr under their saddle. No time to be complacent!
How awesome that you all got to travel to both NYC and LA! Appreciate you taking us with you. Griffith Observatory was one of my favorite high school field trips; such a cool place and I was starstruck at the time as it's been in so many movies. Safe travels to you on the way home.
Josh you are a wonderful spokesperson for the reseller community ! And you are great wonderful at hitting the highlights on the lighter side of the info. Not to mention that your editing is crazy good!
Now we need Hayley to start taping her pov ' she seems to be drawn to the surroundings. The room. The
food. The swag bag.....more camera work Haley!
Then Josh can blend it! You two seem to be a wonderful fit.
Thanks for involving us
I remember going to eBay live many years ago. It was a lot of fun and very informative
Another FUN video from you both!! Glad you’re enjoying NYC 👍
Hope you're having fun! Great time to travel.
OMGOODNESS! Lot of Josh! Good to see him 😊
Congratulations that you & Haley got to go to this event sponsored by eBay for free that’s awesome and got to learn so much good information to share with all of us.
Wow what fun. You make NY look good because I think it’s very intimidating. I’m not sure I could go and for sure not alone but I’m so happy to watch your travels. Plus great job at the thrifting.
I attended eBay open virtually between work. It was great!
I learned a lot, primarily from other sellers.
I was able to order some free swag because of my participation in the open so that was a bonus. I definitely snagged some of those big bags!
Thank you so much for taking us along and taking us thrifting !!! So cool to see the ebay thingy!!! And you too go from NYC to LA!!! You two are so awesome!!! Thanks again !!! Stay safe stay great !!! Appreciate both of you!!!!
How fun for you two to be able to travel on these “business trips” and spend time together exploring different parts of the states. Something I’m sure would have been difficult if u were both working your 9-5 jobs. This is an amazing perk of doing what you two do. I’m so happy for u guys, you both look so happy!!! And I’m happy your path has led you down this road because I for one look forward to my videos from you two…keep up the good work and continue making fabulous and fun memories while traveling for business. Take care guys!! See ya in your next video ☺️
Brandi from Modesto, Ca ❤
"you could see the curvature of the earth if the world wasn't flat" this line line killed me 🤣
Looks like so much fun. You two are the best! ♥️
As always, even when traveling you find amazing flipping items!
I “attended”virtually as I could not afford to fly to NYC for the in person sessions, but wishing we had the opportunity to get the swag, especially that EBay bag!
Hope you both were able to enjoy yourselves. Keep up the amazing hard work!
Thanks for the video Josh and Hayley, it was interesting to see you two jetting across the country.
Thanks for taking us along. Ebay open looked great
Loved your thrift store finds
Can't wait to see your LA adventures
That’s for taking us along to New York! It’s been over 42 years since I was there (not counting the airport).
Hoping to make it to alive event next year, will have to see what the locations are. I did manage to snag some swag with my points, can’t wait to get some Ebay bags and water bottles.
With the 1/2 off the prices were right! Ciao for now!
Hilarious that you were wearing that Descent jacket in the coffee/bagel shop. Great quality jacket from the late 70's early 80's, before North Face was a thing. Love the end update. I believe it was honest and gave me some hope, that eBay hasn't forgot it's base. which is sellers.
If those shorts get and shorter and tighter you’re gonna be talking in a high pitched voice. 😂💀🤘
Looked like an Awesome Event amazed at the prices at goodwill in NY. E-Bay is listening an evolving great sign! Enjoy LA keep the videos coming. Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
I love this channel so much ❤
Welcome you both to NYC.. It was nice to watch you having a good time at Ebay Open.. You did awesome at Salvation Army for 50% OFF. you was at the right time and place for great deal especially with the Silver jacket!! Thanks for sharing this Video with your Fans...
Josh, that jacket matches the colors in your hoodie!
That flat earth joke got me 😆
I choked on my sweet tea 😂😂😂
That first Salvation Army was rockin' to some good house/soul music! 1:56 [Shaun Escoffery - Days Like This] Awesome seeing you check out NYC! Really want to explore there soon.
1Wow Hairy I didn't think that you were based! Much respect! We are living in the firmament brother!
I don't know what that means.
Love to you guys!!! Have loads of fun!!!
literally just told my cousin from manhattan about y'all a few weeks ago. hope you guys enjoyed NY and LA! both are dope places full of so much fascinating history.
Griffith Observatory is such a cool place in LA. My oldest son lives there. My youngest son is in San Fran, & you guys should see all the thrift shops there! OMG!!! Every other store is vintage clothing & thrifting items. Plan a trip there. See the Golden Gate Bridge & so much more too!! Great finds in NY you guys. Super video!!! 👍😇♥️⭐️
That is amazing!! I’ve been waiting for that roll out. I don’t do many auctions, but offers I’m at about 50% payment rate on accepted ones. It’s so annoying.
Totally feel you on this one, and then you have to wait 4 days to cancel. So annoying.
NYC probably had some crazy Thrift Store Finds back in the 80s 90s, before Ebay. Such a Rich history with the City as well. Aside from clothing its probably the best city in the world for collectibles, etc.
Josh and Haley nice merchandise. Like watching your adventures. Take Care, appreciate you guys. Out
omg that wild & crazy kids shirt is awesome
I have a half a dozen Graham's, great pick up. Looks like you guys had fun!
I loved your experience in the New York thrift store!!! Loved that everything was half off!!!
The new Top Gun is fantastic! I could watch it everyday I think! Love seeing the travel vlogs!
I haven’t commented in a while but I watch every video and loved seeing some new scenery!
As a Brooklynite,I got a kick out of seeing you folks in the city. :) Trash picking on the upper east side and rich neighborhood is worth exploring your next visit.
Really great video! Would love to go to NYC sometime (especially for business/tax deduction LOL!) Safe travels my friends!!
It's good to see you in a new location to pick
Hope y'all have fun in the big city, be sure to take notes of how they ran it for ideas for your next flipcon.
Awww...welcome to NYC! BTW, thrift shops in NYC prices are usually higher because cost of living. Wish you can come back!
Hey Josh, Hailey and Moes. Watch you every video and love your content.
Just reaching out and hoping you are okay considering the weather all around you at the moment.
Hope you are all keeping safe and any weather close by is kind to you all
We are good! Storm didn't do much in our neck of the woods
Thanks, for sharing are need for the auction pay to eBay. See you in LV in Oct!
Thank you for sharing this video with us.
“Look a city looks like a city” lol you small town folk are funny
Great video guys God bless and keep you in his prayers.
Nice Hotel room. My room had a queen bed that took up 90% of the room in downtown Manhattan.
One day What not will be just as Amazing. I wish there was a suggestion section so I can encourage them to allow your phone to look at more then one show at a time and Bid. I'm glad you two are having fun.
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME, love love your videos, thanks from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Canada
Great deals found at NY and Cali 👍. Also thanks for the info about eBay because u actually answered alot of questions I wanted someone to answer..safe travels and see y'all on the next one
My husband and I enjoy your videos
Cool running around with you and your wife.
hahaha i got the earth is flat joke... it was funnier knowing the comments would explode lol well done sir
New Yorker here. I've done eBay a few yrs ago during the pandemic and actually stopped because work got busy and didn't the time to source for products. Also it was discouraging seeing the insane prices of the thrift stores and salvation army places. You got a pretty good deal at that salvation army with everything being half off.. Those white Nikes you picked up, the original price being $18, that's pretty much the price for any decent looking sneaker if not higher here in NYC. I wish you guys could've stayed in NY for a whole week or 2 just to get the experience of going to an actual goodwill store and see the insane prices for their items. I'm not saying thrifting is impossible here up north. But when I watch your videos and see the places you go to and the things you find for the prices, sometimes it's almost double or triple what these stores here charge. And there's no Amazon return center here. I think the nearest one is upstate NY like 5hrs away..kinda sucks.
You guys picked a good time to be in NY with that hurricane on its way. Lol
Right? Hopefully their flight back home goes smoothly.
Josh seems super lit in this video that ny air got to my boy 😂
Mose for president!!! Do you ask other resellers at these events how much Goodwill charges in their area?
I live in North Seattle and have been going to thrift stores forever. I am convinced where I live has the highest mark ups haha. Everything in the store down to the wire is priced just about the same as eBay or retail price. Video games all go for reseller prices and etc.. it’s wild! Would love to see y’all work your magic here hah! Thanks for sharing!
If the earth wasn’t flat.. did I had Josh right? Wahaaaa 😂
I hope you go to the one on Hollywood Boulevard. It's got a basement as well as a first floor. Very well organized too.
Love to see you find good flips everywhere you go
Great video! Thanks for taking us with you!
You should go to Gilbert’s ice cream in pawley’s island South Carolina and get the new ( it might only be there for a little while) molasses cookie ice cream that my grandma met up with them to make because she makes the best cookies.
Josh you crack me up, thank you for making it fun...
..that jacket is a keeper...!
I Love your Support Your Friends Hoody, we love watching your Videos., we are part-time Re-sellers all the way from Canada!
Years ago I learned how to set my account so that people with 2 or more no pays cannot buy from me. I have maybe 4 no pays a year now. It is a big help.
NYC...what my hometown...enjoy..!
That jacket rocks
Great video! I attended ebay Austin and it was so much fun. You guys landed some good deals!
Happy jetsetters. Safe travels. Blessings Shirlene ✝️
eBay updates: Yes, their size slows down fixing and updating software issues, which is why when they do roll out a change, it needs to be a good change and/or a real fix to a real issue. Instead, they seem to roll out "changes" that create problems or slow the process down. I do not know when a Seller Update rolled up that didn't cause issues or have a big glitch. The latest questionable software roll out is their New Listing Template. It's slower to list, harder to understand and it looks like they took their software folks into a room and told them they wanted a new tool that looked and worked so different,. that no one would recognize it. Well they did that, but it's a real step backwards. I photo editor is awkward, the different sections have all these pop-ups to make choice selections (some taking seconds to load each) and the different sections (shipping, editing, item specifics) all work differently, like a dozen groups each did their own thing, then it all went into a Gumbo Pot to produce the new Listing Template. It's sad. I have 3 stores, 1 of which is on the new Tool and I can list about twice as fast on the 2 that are yet to be converted.
How fun!! I just love the picture booth pictures! We had one at our wedding and everyone loved it!! I had no idea people didn’t pay for their auction items!! I assumed you had to! Why take the time to do it for crying out loud.
People get caught up in the thrill of live bidding and then get buyers remorse when they realize what they agreed to pay. Or they discover they could have gotten the same item for cheaper elsewhere. Or they realize they don't have enough in their account. Or they are new to Ebay and went crazy on the bidding then ended up winning a bunch of the same item (happened to a friend of mine, but she did the right thing and paid for all of them).
It’s Diane - pink hat. So great to meet you in person! Now back in sw Florida battling the hurricane
safe travels!
@@HairyTornado My Kids and Friends were so excited to see me chatting with you and Haley in the video. I wonder if Kevin from Commonwealth Picker knows I mentioned I got my Pink VW hat from his store. It was a nice high before the storm as I live just south of Ft Myers and the destruction is overwhelming from Ian. You both were so friendly and sweet.
@@Townietreasures oh no! Hope your home is mostly ok!
Money can be made in NYC. My wife and I are resellers from the city and we find great things all the time. NYC prices are a bit crazy but you gotta know where to look. Good video.
Thank you for bringing up the non-payment issue to eBay.
you getting into the bag was my favorite XD
You should go to the Goodwill by the Pound in Long Island City, Queens. Downtown Manhattan has been picked thru a lot. Your better off in Brooklyn and Queens. I’ve been thrifting since I was 13. I’m starting to do it for profit now cuz of wonderful UA-camrs like you. I can take you guys if you want.
you jet setters. Going all over the US. Lucky ducks. Great pickups.
Great video. I love LA one of my favorite places to visit. Hope you all are having a blast
Top Gun 2 was fantastic!
OK, maybe this will help- I sold that same Descente jacket last winter for $230. You got a steal on it.
Great video, love how your guys were amazed by the pigeons! You should come to the uk they are everywhere and always in the high street where you shop lol.
Good to hear about making people pay! I don’t sell a lot just bits and bobs of my own stuff but I get it all the times not just with auctions but with offers as well and most people message and say their kid won it messing around with ebay!!
Thanks for being another voice in eBay’s ear about payments!
Yes sir austin texas. Here
