Selling my vault cards to PSA at 60% doesn't appeal to me. But here's a question: Isn't there a conflict when the card grader gets in the business of buying and selling cards, even if it's on behalf of a "partner"?

I was looking around Ebay for some Bo Nix cards and found a PSA 10 which is being sold by the PSA account. Isn't this kind of a conflict of interest if the card is going straight from PSA to Ebay? I know PSA supposedly uses partners but don't they get a slice of the pie when it is sold? This just sounds as dirty as the 'upcharge' PSA charges and which is why I have stopped sending any cards to grade with them.

That's why you can send your card to auction while it's in the grading process. Done with PSA FOREVER AND SPORTS CARDS. Had to sell my entire collection yesterday. The problem with collecting sports cards is that if you have to liquidate everything in a hurry you're going to take a massive loss.

Offers is interesting. I would consider it if the offers are fair. But I have a feeling it's probably 70 percent because the buyer/partner has to have margins in there somehow. I can see this being a thing and SGC doing it too.

Grading cards then also participating in selling those same cards through a myriad of channels to market....conflict of interest is my first response. Especially when you have a perceived monopoly on grading sports cards with Collectors Universe owning both PSA and SGC. Collectors Universe also owns Golden Auctions. So, they grade them, collect margin, then sell those same cards in their auction house and generate more margin. Now PSA coming up with a similar situation. I do not understand how our hobby has continued to allow or be allowed to play in this environment of monopolies and conflict of interests. Collectors Universe also owns card ladder which allows them to track pricing and market it as a convenience for the hobby, but it also greatly benefits Collectors Universe to enhance their grading costs and auctions house commissions. Wrap all this up in a nice package and you can only imagine the exploitation that could be achieved. If I am misinformed or not seeing the forest for the trees, please comment.
