I've posted this before, but you probably didn't see it. One more try lol...Embroidery floss is packaged to pull the end out to the length you need by leaving the paper tubes on the skein. You will not have as much tangling of the thread, Also, the higher the number of sewing machine needles the stronger. Size 90 would be best for sewing journals. Sizes 70 is for thin fabrics. Upholstery or jeans needles would work well for thicker journals. I am learning so much from you and love your videos! Thank you for sharing with us.
Pam, I've never really commented to you before, but I just wanted to say a few things. If it hadn't been for you about a year ago, I never would've actually done my first junk journal. I've watched a lot of tutorials and had many great teachers, but it was you that helped me as a rookie to achieve something truly magical with a Harry Potter journal. Keep the videos coming. Thanks, for keeping it simple! This allows for many of the newbie subscribers to feel less intimidated by the process. You teach well! I love Sunshine so much and I miss Hollywood. I know he's around the corner, but I don't get to hear him as much for some reason. Have fun as usual and thank you again. Carol Schneider
You made a Harry Potter Junk Journal? How cool is that? I have loved HP ever since my mom bought the first book for my grandson and my daughter and I read it first..I think he was about 4 or 5. He is also a big fan. Had all the HP things ..dress robe, tie, scarf, brooms, ...he would wear them and sit on his broom while watching movies. I would love to make a journal for him. Any hints what to use, how to begin? I haven't made my first junk journal yet. Pam is awesome isn't she? And Sunny and Holly. Love watching and learning. 🥰
@@number1nanaof2 Hey Diana, I started by looking on Pinterest to see what interesting images I could find. It has turned out to be a chunky monkey because I have tried to fit important things from all the movies into one journal. I found a cool 12X12 paper pad at HL called Tattered & Worn which worked great for the signature pages along with other coffee dyed, etc. Work with the images and papers and it will fall into place. There's some great stickers and handwriting stamps, etc that work well too. I think mainly just getting the colors and images together. The rest will fall into place for you. I distressed well for this one and used the HP colors: burgundy, browns, greens, blues, yellows. Most of all, have fun with it. It takes time. I'm just now to the finishing point. You'd be surprised at how it comes together and what you can use to add to HP. Let me know how it goes. Carol S.
