That time Jefferson Airplane played D&D during a bad trip
Lol, true
Good trip *
Nailed it.
This is based on a trew story actully
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I had no idea what genre of music I was even in for when I clicked on this; I just saw the thumbnail and thought "grainy 4:3 film video and skimpy pulp-fantasy type costumes? Sign me up!" but damn, this is _awesome!_ Love this kind of melancholy grungy sound, and the aesthetic is everything I aspire to be!
Same, was expecting black metal. Check out King Woman if you like this - bit heavier, but pretty sweet ;)
To be fair this is one of the "softer" track they made, that ive listen too so far.@@wulfgold
I'm gonna investigate more - gimme a track?
Dagger Dragger or Feed The Dream@@wulfgold
Check out Blood Ceremony from Canada as well :)
This looks like an obscure 80s doom metal band video that was found in an old warehouse, and someone thought it was so cool they decided to convert it to mp4 and upload it on UA-cam. I love the vibes of this type of video and music.
Looks inspired by Candlemass "Bewitched", pretty sweet.
The stone archway looks like something they found in the dumpster behind Brigantine Castle after they closed in 1984.
@@ManDuderGuy That and quite a bit of the beginning of the Conan the Barbarian film from the 80s.
This man said mp4 lmao bro nobody uses .mp4
Real friends fight to the death in lingerie in the snow.
And let us enjoy the show 😋
Did we just become best friends?!?!? 😂
1970s sound, cheesy 80s fantasy video. Great music and vocals. This is a total win.
My total adolescent fantasy💖
that sound is 1992 but i hear ya mostly.
@@jonasdowner You've clearly never heard Jefferson Airplane
@@VallinSFASright? I've been waiting for this since I was 15 lol
@@jonasdowner Nah, go back and listen to some bands from before you were born. This is so late 60s-70s
i'm in the hospital right now, bald from chemo and waiting on my bone marrow transplant to fully engraft. after days of being stuck in here, this made me feel human again. thank you.
EDIT: Hey y'all, I went home on the 13th, and besides a readmittance and some medicine adjustments, I'm damn near out for good!! You're all kind, good people to check on a stranger the way you all have. Thank you, thank you, thank you all. 💗🤘
Hey! Hang in there! We are routing for you! Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘
@@kingvolumerecords hey, thank y'all, and again, thank you for the cheer-up. I'm glad I found y'all. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘🤘🤘
Hope you a full recovery. I lost my little brother from leukemia it was diagnosed at age 8, and he died age 12, in 1974 things have come along way ! This music is so different in a good way! Keep fighting! Greetings from south east Alabama USA ☮️❤️
@@donnieallums4847 hey, greetings from Louisiana! deeply sorry about your little brother. i've been dealing with aplastic anemia for a few months now; i'll think of him on my journey back home.
@@freedemonhugs my brother married a girl from houma . She is a great cook and a very good person. There living in Alabama now, but there children and grandchildren are still in Houma. Hope you all the best!❤️
It's always fun to find stuff like this before it gets huge.
With almost 100k views in just two weeks, probably it will be pretty big.
yeah i wish shit like this didnt get huge. metal has become the thing normies use to feel cool about themselves
@@ms.ggrose
It used to be in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. But now. I wouldn't say so. Metal has faded from the mainstream since the last decade and has become the music of the outsider or the hermit. Exactly what it used to be in the 70s. Sure you have bands such as Suicidal Angels or Firewind but no matter how many arenas these guys pack, they aren't hit makers and you don't have to know anything about them if u don't want to, so..
The lead singer reminds me of Eric Carr's KISS character. Down to the make up. But, the song.
WOW, I haven't heard anything so original in a LONG TIME.
@@On_Dust Yeah, I agree with this. The "rock" genre has really fallen off and songs only gets big if it's in an A24 film or something
UA-cam finally decided to recommend something good
It got recommended to me too. Wonder if the artist payed for advertising. Even if they did, it’s good music. 🤷♀️
Yep exactly.
You might not listen to many good things then, the algorithm makes decisions based on what you watch on YT.
my gf works there and the interns boost things in recommendations for shits and giggles some times :) it's an open secret, but better them making decisions than big brands and co's right?
The Algo doesnt suck lately 🤘🏽
Dark magic, swords, ancient frozen forest, scythe wielding specters, brutal chorus... this is amazing.
yes
Sorry but nothing about this is brutal
@@eastart5422In _your_ opinion, correct?
Dio is shedding a single proud tear from beyond.
This is some quality heritage rock. Castle Rat is a great name.
Totally agree it's a great name. Gives an imagery that fits the music pretty well. Also I like your username as well. Peace.
I was just about to post the same thing, great name
The soul of Patty Smith, sucked out by some 5th level sorcerer spell and embedded into the host of a 1st level underdressed barbarian.
The barbarian is only underdressed because she's so good at fighting and knows she does not need armor
underrated comment of the year
Ah c'est marrant, moi je pensais plutôt à PJ Harvey, mais oui Patti Smith ça marche aussi
This comment is gold.
The low-budget style, like it was filmed on a VHS camera from 1993 is very good.
Very nostalgic to me.. great video
It's fcking Red Sonja.
The quality is too good for VHS, clearly it’s a Betamax recording.
You mean 1983 😂
@@danielsteiner1781 yes
This is the kind of thing I desperately wanted to do in the 1990s - good to see it kept up. Carry the torch for us.
yes
Gives me early Smashing Pumpkins vibes sonically.
Remember those "Al generated Famous IP in a 80s Dark Fantasy movie style"
This is that but it's real and with real actors and sets god I love this sm.
Obligatory fuck Al btw lol
doom metal, it' s called doom metal.
@@emrysthefirst7778 ik I was gushing over the production value of the video itself that's all lol.
How do you know it's not AI?
some people just say "remember the 80's"
This has awoken something in that that I've not felt since '86. Brilliant.
That's was awesome
❤ hell yeah
Heavy Candlemass aesthetic here. Thats a good thing. Very, very good.
Right on the money!! I was looking for this comment 🤘🏼
I just commented the same thing!! Lol
This video clip looks like it was directed by the same person who directed the "Bewitched" music video
What a gay comment
@@BillGunslingerlooks NOTHING like bewitched. Welcome to the genre poser
I am so glad UA-cam recommended this to me because I never would have found it otherwise. This is everything I like distilled into one band and it's EPIC!
Didnt know i needed LARPcore in my life
Candlemass
God I love her voice. It's got so much heart and soul.
Love those guitar tones. Brings me back to finding my dad's Sabbath tape as a kid.
We need more of this in 2024. Yes YES YES YES! Love the vibe and the sound!
Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the video. 10/10
3:52 for the whole band to come in. Wow. That's very bold to do to modern listening audience. Haven't heard that long a delay for decades. Great dedication to the music era.
I didn’t even realize it was that long I was enjoying it so much.
You haven't explored in decades it seems. but no, it's fkn killer
Getting such a video done in wintery forest in such fantasy oriented skimpy outfits requires superhuman stamina, so HUMONGOUS amounts of respect for Riley & Maddy for freezing their rear ends off! (as a Finn I know something of cold wintery forests... :) )
Luckily she got some feeling coming back
This should have been the music playing in the arcades back in 1982.
Whatever vibe this is giving, its now my favorite
Doom/Stoner rock with less distortion
@@Lespaulman987And stronger melody.
i feel like calling funeral grunge
but yes it's stoner doom @@Lespaulman987
Doom has plenty of melody.@@robertbloom4424
I never get used to the 1% of times the algorithm recommends something legitimately good
No idea what everyone is talking about "aesthetic" and "cheesy" and "70s and 80s". This is just Tuesdays in my back yard.
This is effin' sweet! The algorithm did its thang today.
Indeed! ❤
Well said
Today, too! UA-cam is a mess, but every once in a while it does something right.
UA-cam just recommended this to me, no other streaming service recommends such gems, thank you UA-cam.
everyone I know but me only uses Spotify, but I get all my music here, find so many gems
Oh my god, when the whole band kicks in is absolutely incredible.
As a nostalgic old LARPer, I love everything about this.
As an old bloke brought up on prog rock/metal, this warms me cold heart. Pleases me so much to hear this, I’m an instant fan.
Glad you guys are finally getting picked up by the algorithm, you deserve it.
Jesus loves you 🤍💚🧡💜💛🖤🩷🤎🩵💖💙❣️❤️🔥💌💟
Hey! Is there anybody else who listened to this song like 500 times and it didn't wear off? : )))))
I havent played a song over & over for atleast 10yrs until now -her voice with this groove is just.... immaculate
I hear what you’re saying. It’s probably been 15 to 20 times for me, but I’m not done yet. I keep coming back…
I don’t even watch the video anymore. I just close my eyes and immerse myself in the experience. Addictive and affecting.
I played it 1000 times and goin for another 1000 🐐🐐🐐
@@kennethadkins7915 Hell to the yeah brother!
I must listen to this a thousand times. The vocal is amazing!
I feel like I’m sitting in a basement… in the dark…. in 1976….
Wow!! What a trip. Loved every minute of it. Thank you! 💜
It sounds new and old at the same time, a rare fusion of musics from the 70ies to now. I'm not often that impressed but it's just pure pleasure to my ears !
Wow, what a great song. Kinda Skeletal Family meets Jefferson Airplane with hint of grunge and Sabbath. Love it.
Sick Sabbath Vibes. Awesome video.
That first "now" in cry for me is pure gold
Agreed!
Despite whatever genres and aesthetics people are going to box this in with over and over again; This is actually pretty cool. I can't put my finger on what it is, but I definitely see some direction that's more inspired than just wanting to replay old looks. It's unique, and the music is honest. Great stuff.
I looked the definition of badass in the dictionary it told me to watch this
Feels like an 80s home video
Imagine coming across this in the middle of the woods while they are filming, I would think I was Isekai'ed into another dimension for a second.
[Sees two bikini Fantasy babes fighting in the woods] "I guess I really AM destined to be a harem protagonist!"
I love the psychedelia at the beginning. Reminds me of the velvet underground.
A VHS camera used makes it spookier! It makes you feel you're doomed, you can't kill death
Came here off a random video of this band live in st. Vitus. They're awesome live
2:09 - this "now!" better not awaken anything in me
4:31 - AT YOUR SERVICE MY QUEEN
Props to them for standing out side in the snow. Commitment in those costumes.
Also love the song.
Love her voice
Woke up to this being suggested. Listened. Now immortalized in my mind. Epic dogwalk in the crisp frozen enchanting winter dawn ensued. Perfect soundtrack looping through my memory. I got some feeling coming back
Nice Doom Prog with visuals that remind me of the Conan movies I loved growing up. Also, pretty cool to see a newer band doing something reminiscent of 70s prog, Curved Air in particular.
I didn't know what I was clicking into but I definitely LOVED IT!!! ❤
ONG such a 1970's fantasy/horror movie vibe to the video.
A tour of Castle Rat and Poison Ruin would probably be a legendary event.
The algorithm knows "what is best in life"
I'm getting addicted to this song
This is dope af. Thank you, algorithm. And just like that, Castle rat is my new favorite band.
Grace Slick in there.
A band with some great humor and a feel for retro, great song as well, Im a fan, I love to support and up coming band.
This is ridiculously good. Definitely the best song I've heard this year.
It’s a shame sabbath isn’t still touring, you guys would’ve been an amazing opener. Already preordered the album ☠️
The fight choreography is the best I've ever seen.
Easliy the cooles thing I've seen all year
I love it! It feels like the music was written in the 70's... and that voice, so haunting...Rat Castle!!
This has an eerie 90's nostalgia element to it imo and I am loving everything about it. Subscribed and liked before the song even ended.
Keep on protecting the Realm! Long live Castle Rat!
This is so awesome. Very excited for the album! I've seen Castle Rat live and cannot recommend their shows enough. This amazing music video just touches on what they're capable of.
This is super like, robert plants fantasy scene in the song remains the same but darker and I'm living for it 🙏
It was fated for me to find this. I had intense deja vu listening to rhis and watching the video lol i litteraly dreamt myself finding this and now here we are 😂 very gooooood
This looks like it was a lot of fun to shoot! Glad to have stumbled upon it!
0:00 that "Dungeon Crawler" retro-game style scene, looks awsome for me.
Metal Stevie Nicks goes hard!
Oh hell yeah!!! This is one of the awesomest things I’ve ever seen!! Love their sound, the video is incredible and holy shit the vocalist is amazing!!
It's like the perfect mix between Dio and Doro. Hell yeah!
As a fan of creepy shit; does not disappoint.
Just stumbled across this video. Fantastic music and visuals. Looking forward to more.
Forgotten magic reached out for us!
this is one of those tracks that while listening, it feels as if the world around you is turning to the music. so that you may be content just long enough to really feel the impact.
What an absolute experience this was. Thank you for this track and a wonderful music video. I can tell it took some time and the effort put in made me feel complete. Highlight of my day, definitely.
+1 What a breath of fresh air, thanks for the good work, the pure inspiration and the honesty behind it all. Very uplifting!
Ok you guys need to play a couple show in my area. We can help book a few gigs in Isla Vista, and Santa Barbara. Yer totally killing it, we need this barbarian energy😮
Clicked for the thumbnail, stayed for the music.
i love this so much
The best thing I've discovered in 2024! So glad I was able to see y'all play for the Into the Realm record release party a couple weeks ago. Absolutely amazing show and my pleasure to meet all of you!
I really like this. Such a classic metal sound, would be right at home with some early Sabbath.
This showed up in my feed typically I never click on something I don’t know of especially bands , but this song has drawn me in , looking forward to listening to everything you offer now
I too clicked the thumbnail then thought the vibe was cool.
Outrageously inspiring, My sincerest wish is that y’all drive this as far as you can; you will only become more powerful and more authentic to yourselves in the process. Incredible voice, instrumentation, composition, and film aesthetic. We, that is those around you, both near and far, benefit from your courage and creativity, and are extremely grateful for it. We can’t wait to see what’s next, can’t wait to see what you put out into the world. 🔥⚔️❤️
Actually it should just stop here if its to be truly kvlt
Wow! It was the unexpected. And I like it!
This song TO ME sounds like The Raven that Refused to Sing, White Rabbit, Close to The Edge (I get up/I get down) and Blow up The Outside World,
all put together in a blender. Very good band.
Wow, this is amazing!
Genuinely love this song, can't stop listening to it 😂
Such a cool mood
