Fun memory, I made videotapes of all 3, my late wife and I used to have our own little dance parties while watching those 3 movies. Made for fun, silly date nights because I mostly dance like a drunken orangutan, lot of laughing on those date nights. 🤣😂😜☮️🕊️
When Footloose originally came out in the movie theaters, people were literally dancing in the aisles. Asia you HAVE to see Footloose soon! You will enjoy it! You'll recognize Kevin Bacon when you see him. Christopher Penn (RIP - Sean Penn's Brother) was also a main character in it.

Tom Cruise isn't in Footloose BUT he is in another big movie, "Top Gun", that Kenny Loggins did the main song for. It's "Danger Zone" & was also a HUGE hit. It's another one you can't hold still to.

Just to clarify... if I'm not mistaken, there is one solo dance number that Kevin Bacon's character dances, but that one dance was performed by a professional dancer standing in for Bacon. But I think Bacon did all the other dancing. (I hope I am remembering that correctly. If I'm not, I'm sure someone will correct me.)
Kenny Loggins started his career with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970. He then joined Jim Messina as a duo from 72-77. They had a lot of great songs together. Kenny then went solo & had a string of hits & did many movie soundtracks including "Footloose". He also has done a few duets including one with Stevie Nicks. He has a huge library of songs to go through.

Richie was an amazing musical guide for Three Dog Night from its very first record at MCA and he continued producing for us right on through to our new album, that is just about to be released. Despite his low-key demeanor, Richie was a powerhouse; beginning in the 1960’s he worked as a producer, engineer, musician, composer and arranger for countless artists including the Monkees, the Turtles, the Electric Prunes, the Grateful Dead, Donovan, the Dillards, Chris Hillman, and Black Oak Arkansas, as well as Steppenwolf for whom Richie engineered their huge hits “Born to be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride”. If you watch Footloose, make sure it's the original. It was one of those 80s classic genre movies that's stood the test of time, & with a great soundtrack. Takes place in a small, religious town out in the western boonies after a recent tragedy's made the adults go control freaking on their kids. Kevin Bacon plays the cool out of towner who alarms them with his newfangled rock music & dancing. #lol But it seriously has a good theme, summed up as "I don't know that I believe in all that you believe in. But I believe in you" & "If we don't start trusting our children, how will they ever become trustworthy?". The final scene where the kids are having a school dance & finally let loose with some endearingly awkward group dancing uses the title song, Footloose...doesn't matter if you're good at it or not, just dance, enjoy being young & alive, & have fun. ❤

This is from my day - the 80s. Such a fun, entertaining movie and you'd enjoy it. Kevin Bacon's character (Wren) and his mom move into this small mid-western from the big city and this small town's leader is the local preacher who doesn't approve of teenagers dancing. Kevin Bacon character sets out to change his mind... plus he and the preacher's daughter (who's kind of a wild child)... well... please check it out! This is probably Sarah Jessica Parker's first movie (who's more of a minor character).

Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe aren't in the movie. You're right about the premise of the movie. Dancing became illegal because kids got killed while listening to rock and roll In a car accident. Parents found out they had been drinking. And the town looked to the Reverend in how to ensure this won't happen again. He made dancing,drinking,rock and roll music illegal. You should watch it for your movie reaction channel.
you really need to watch the video, it gives the real flavor of the movie , it’s very ‘80’s’ and so is the dancing
