I'd love to see this on two identical bikes. Also with the stock exhaust to get a control. How much louder is either than the stock exhaust? How much gain in power too. Wish I could see those comparisons.
The powercore is going to have a bigger power increase, but the Q4 will be quieter. I'm not sure but I think that the powercore will probably be lighter.
theres alot of misunderstanding why riders get this. I get it cuss on the freeway they cant see me, with this pipe at least they can hear me and be more aware of their surroundings. this shit save my butt.
@@MotoMadness loud pipes don't save lives.. they just damage ears and scare animals and wake people up... hate when douches fly by with their loud pipes thinking their sooo fucking cool.... your not cool.. not a single person is thinking "man that guys loud pipes are cool"
Hey, i want to quiet down my yz 85 2015. I want to change the stock silencer to a FMF Q. I do not want to lose power. Can i use the FMF Q with the OEM pipe? Or do i need a fmf fatty too? And do i need to re jet? I dont know what re jetting is or how to do it..
there are jets in the carb, these are small holes that the fuel runs through, when u get a higher flowing exhaust then you will need to get more fuel into the engine therefore you get a bigger bang and more power, if you dont do this then your bike can run lean and go worse and get very hot
Go to Thumpertalk or a forum for your specific bike and ask there. You usually have to re-jet, but it's not hard. Other people have done it and they can walk you through it.
Hey guys i need some help i have a yamaha ttr 230 and i wanna get the q4 but i my dad said if we have to jet it i cant get the pipe so i was wondering if it needs to be jetted if im using it for looks and sound
yes you need to get the carb jetted if you put an aftermarket exhaust on, if you dont jet the carb with an aftermarket exhaust your bike will run too lean
Lexx mxe is way louder then any brand of mufflers and if you put lexx mxe,two brothers, hmf,FMF,all in line to start up then you work out which is has more sound in their bike
@@kylestevenson6213 after many years people go deaf... the gas i get makes white flames out the tail pipe. especially on cool humid days the back fires are painfully loud. I put that same gas in a old truck, after driving for 15 minuets the truck back fired... blew the rusty muffler right off its self. after that it ran fine till the rear main seal gave out.
None of that has to do with how loud the muffler is. You obviously don’t know how the decibel system works and how truly loud your claimed numbers would be
Obviously a muffler doesn’t make sound, you could even say it “muffles” sound. And advancing or retarding the exhaust valve timing won’t have a dramatic effect on overall exhaust volume. If anything modern engines are quieter than anything that came before. You’ll never have me believe that a motorcycle at “light revs” is as loud as a jet engine at full power. Even with no muffler whatsoever you’d never even get close to that level of sound.
its not a good comparison, 2 completely different motors, there for the motor does not create the same sound out of the exhaust
I'd love to see this on two identical bikes. Also with the stock exhaust to get a control. How much louder is either than the stock exhaust? How much gain in power too. Wish I could see those comparisons.
1:31 power core Sound
2:40 Q4 sound
Thanks me later😊
I also have a ttr 230 2011 and I was wondering which one would be better and this video helped so thank you
The correct way to do a DB reading is hold the meter 1M away from and within 10 degrees of the center of the outlet and rev motor to 1500rpm.
how do you do a comparison between 2 different bikes for exhaust. derp
i agree, you should use the same motor and switch mufflers
Hey man..GREAT VIDEO! now, Witch Muffler do you like better the Powercore or the Q4?
will either muffler cause the blinker to melt on the klx250s ?
The powercore is going to have a bigger power increase, but the Q4 will be quieter. I'm not sure but I think that the powercore will probably be lighter.

that's very very true mate
Let's be honest; you got it because it sounds cooler. Loud pipes don't save lives. Safe and smart driving do.
How ironic that shit saved your butt am I right?
So the powercore 4 the one to get if you wanna get people to look
do they have any deference in the performance and the weight for a klx 250 or they are the same? except the sound :p
Im.getting.a fmf 4.1 what's the difference between the q4 and the other one
which has more power?
2:04 POWERCORE4
3:13 Q4
Hello! What about fuel consumption?
which bike did or do you like better?
Love the sound of the Powercore. Sounds like a chopper.
hey did u need to re-jet ur bike after getting those pipes
No
Any time you change the flow of air in or out you need to rejet your motorcycle.
So basically what yer sayin is get the powercore 4

Is that a slip on power core 4
Did you have to do any jetting when you put the Q4 on the KLX?
I have one myself, you need to rejet it otherwise it will run too lean.
Did you rejet?

Well both are 250 so its essentially the same if you remove the stock pipe cuz its the stock pipe of each branch that make the sound different really

Buy a JD jet kit and do it yourself. Welcome to owning a bike with a carburetor. Might as well learn sooner than later.
I like the sound
What website did you use?
TexasRider90 *Beefy* bought mine off of revzilla
Will the Q4 fit a 2017 CRF 150f
I think fmf have the best sound am looking to get one for my klr 650.
You don’t drive motorcycles, you ride them
Is it legal

need to get one for my bike

I heard its a good idea to take off stickers due to heat. Is that true?
no the stickers are heat resistant
just got this pipe and stickers came off easy. Colors didnt go with my bike!
You don't have to. They'll last. I take mine off, anyway because I don't want the stickers.

omg i cant find a fmf powercore 4 exhaust for my 06 klx 125 any ideas in wher to find one?
The q4 is 94 db on a 2012 kx250f
Yeah the neighbors heard it too.
Why would you do a sound comparison with two different bikes....come on man. consistency is key
Take the spark arrestor out it will sound better.
I don't want mine as quiet as possible. I don't want anyone to know i'm on their property.
I feel like the q4 was louder on cam
every 3db is twice as loud
it only comes in one size bro.

nope

Powerfcore with powerbomb = grunty and best performance

powercore 4 wins
The decibel scale is logarithmic. a 10 decibel difference is 100 times louder.
Haha, not 100 times louder :D
the FMF i have idles at 115db and gets over 155db with small revs.
No it doesn’t
