4:20 I don't know if this is still true (or if it was ever true), but from what I've heard and experienced there's apparently a diplomacy bug where if an initial offer is rejected then future ones in that same session will always be rejected.
Well it dosnt exactly work like that since he later had hist first offer rejected and then the 2nd one was accepted. I asume the bug happends on random times but we cant be sure wen. Also in that case there was 0 chance the AI was acepting anything under 15k.
One thing I've always loved doing is using cheats to take all the settlements in the west (like Caras Sant) surrounding that little island and then giving them away to factions who usually never even see each other in regular campaigns. You end up with trade routes and flags all over the place in that area and it's loads of fun.
Wow! This is a really challenging campaign! Love your idea for this one. Good luck! Now I want to try something similar too, and I'm not even halfway through my current playthrough!
I know i'm pretty late to the video but when asking for an alliance, adding smaller stuff like map information and especially military access will allow for a much easier accept. Asking for military access however makes it quite a lot harder to gain the alliance, they're pretty shifty about that so it should only be done if you know they'll accept an alliance or if that's your goal. But giving away free military access is a huge boon for the AI and i wouldn't be surprised if it was valued at around 6-15k gold just on it's own. Map information does add up too, but i'm also fairly confident that they take the % of the map you'd reveal into the calculation, so having two small towns might just make that a moot point. But trading map information is harder at the start of the game than when you've expanded enough, and obviously they're less likely to want to trade theirs the more towns they own. And again, the 'generous-demanding' scale isn't actually likelyhood of acceptance, as you might notice that sometimes you throw out a hail mary and they accept very demanding or decline very generous. It's just how much value is on either side of the trade. So it can be worth it to try and go for something even if its 'very demanding' only problem is if they get offended and cancel the conversation and you lost your diplomat turn. Oh and the bug people think is true about them always saying no after a no. Something i know is real is if you ask for something for 1k gold and their margin was 1.2k causing them to say no, because you failed the first agreement, they will increase their demands, so they've probably raised it to 1.6k as a result. And when we're talking about huge numbers like a town purchase of 40k, if they decline your first offer, it might jump to 60k instead of 41k. This could be intentional to stop you from finding the sweet spot and abusing diplomacy AI, it's something i would personally also do if i were to figure out a solution for that. But it does make the issue of you trying to figure out what they want by increasing your offer by a few thousand every time but their demand increases by a lot more each attempt making it literally impossible for you to match them unless you throw in a massive increase in your offer. Makes it a bit pointless to keep trying after the first no and not just wait for next turn to go again. EDIT: Just saw him accept your alliance request. It's very likely you could've gotten him to accept with military access at around 8k gold instead of that sizeable amount.
Yo Ligizd, been watching your videos for quite some time but it just occured to me that it looks like you are using the RTS camera option when in battles as opposed to the Total War Camera. The advantage of the TWC is that it allows you to pan down and up similar to the more modern TW games, which would allow you to take a closer look at units/fighting going on, in comparison the RTS camera seems to only zoom in on a fixed arc that point more towards the horizon. One issue I did run into when I was trying to use this camera option was that the scroll speed seemed to be bugged/slow no matter what options were chosen in the camera speed settings but I found that if you press the page up key a couple of times until maxed then adjusted the settings it fixed it. Anyway really enjoying this series, keep it up!
@@StalwartTirith not quite, you select TWC first then use the page up key whilst in-game (which should adjust the camera speed, you may have to check keybindings to confirm) then go into camera settings and adjust the sliders to your liking. Additionally if you close the game and reopen it you will have to tap the page up key again but only for the first battle (the sliders should all stay as they were last set).
Hello, my friend. A good episode, as you expand your kingdom and you claimed some very good things. Yeah, Neburkah is considered as "neutral" territory, so you can get both Dorwinion and Rhunnic units there. But Wintinion Iaur is also a very good settlement to have, as it is a Keep (not Moth-and-Bailey, as you said previously) and it can give you your mainstream units, with whom you can hold Dale back. Strondost, should you take it, will be your access point to Rhun, who are your allies. I am not sure if Dale will attack you right now, but it is a possibility, which gives you the ideal of uniting all of Rhovannion under your banner, thus getting one of the most prolific trade hubs under your control. In the West, I would consider in my vision to limit Enedwaith only south of Gwathlo and get any possible rebel settlements in Eriador, especially where you are, so as to have a depth before the expedition against Enedwaith. I also saw that you got some mercenaries, which is good. Remember to retrain them, as they are useful in this early stage, where you are short of men, later, when you'll have your best troops, you can use them in the fronts till extiction. Suduri is in Saralainn, so always chec out for Saralainn Mercenaries, it's a very good halberd (thus AP) unit. Have a nice time.
You might want to get more ships in Lond Dear, your fleet their is slowly attritioning, their on two units of ships now. The admiral for the fleet is good so you should be fine for like a good 10-15 turns before you need another boat.
You could cheat create 4,5 units and one being a elite unit and rest some basic footmen for fun They could be men from the other colonies who came to your western kingdom in search of riches And you could say that they couldnt go to the eastern one because of the situation in Anorien(since they would have to sail trough those lands to get to the eastern kingdom) It would be fun and i think it wouldnt do too big of a difference in the long run so its not op Great episode im enjoying this campaign 😊
taking Strondost will not give you trade benefits thru it's port but massive economy bust if you build gold mines there, but it will be a bitch to take it as it is well defended...
When the AI rejected your Very Generous offer, I believe it was because it rejected your first offer of alliance, and the AI is hard coded to reject all subsequent offers of alliance. You can reset them by gifting them 100 gold, then making a better offer.
as soon as i took the settlment i was able to ally when i offered trade rights and map info, after that its hard to get them to ally. on my first playthrough i couldnt ally and rhun declared war on me, and they kept attacking me in the south.
I tried to take a rhun settlement with this mod, but the new rhun units wouldn't pop up on the conscription building. I think they forgot to add them in the descr_building file
Lol what is up with UA-cam auto deleting my comment, when all I wrote was how to calculate your income. Guess I’ll try again. Projected profits doesn’t tell your income, to figure that out you need to subtract your current income from the projected treasury profit. So you are not losing 3373g at 57:27, you are actually making 614g as we can calculate by saying 64501g - 63887g = 614g. Hope this helps and doesn’t get send to the shadow realm!
dont you think that it would be wise to use cheat in the nearer future such as public order cheat in eastern kingdom and to bypass some unit limitation of number so that you can enhance your role playing experience of eastern and western kingdom?
Kind of funny how the faithful created Northern and Southern Kingdom and now the Kings Men are making Eastern and Western Kingdoms
4:20 I don't know if this is still true (or if it was ever true), but from what I've heard and experienced there's apparently a diplomacy bug where if an initial offer is rejected then future ones in that same session will always be rejected.
This is true, an easy fix is to gift 100 coins to them right after and they’ll be reset
Well it dosnt exactly work like that since he later had hist first offer rejected and then the 2nd one was accepted.

That conscription barracks looks really awesome. Going to have to try out this faction.
Awesome content mate. Stainless steel and DaC are the best mods across all total wars IMO!
you should attack small army without general on western part so you get man of the hour because you will need generals on that side..
Don't forget that once they turn down the first offer, they're not likely to accept anything afterwards.
Wow! This is a really challenging campaign! Love your idea for this one. Good luck! Now I want to try something similar too, and I'm not even halfway through my current playthrough!

So have RTS camera selected, use page up to zoom in/out (don't know which it does) until maxed, and then switch to TWC? Doing that fixes the issue?
